When I place my photos in InDesign my pictures become adjusted...

I don't know why this is happening, but when I place a photo (.psd or .png) in my documents, scale becomes very wobbly. (i.e., he becomes very long and skinny or it widens just the image) The proportions of my photos just became very weird. So, I wonder as to why this is happening? Would it be because of a problem of style guide? If Yes, where can I change this? I added a picture which should erase I hope that my explanation. Thank you! PS I would put their scale everything manually, but I work for a magazine, and I don't want to do this with each item I'm affected...

Is there any object model or mounting options applied to the frame?

    Hello

This is an expected behavior, when you place an image in InDesign, then it displays a preview of the image but you has no impact of the exit, unless the image is of low resolution itself.

In order to have the correct resolution of images, you can switch to view > display performance > high quality.

  • When you place an object in InDesign, I can't move forward

I am trying to place an eps file in a rectangle frame and when I do leather in the back. The option to move forward is not accessible (it is grayed out). I tried to add a 2nd layer and placing it there, but still remains on the back. Basically, I'm trying to put a picture as a background on the page. I talked to the support, but they were useless and directed me to the 1 page, I've read a hundred times. I'm hoping 1 of you can help me. I'm on a date deadline for early September, so I really need to get this figured out. Thank you!

It's hard to be sure of your screenshots, but it looks like the version of the model that you have placed on the top layer is made entirely of white forms, which is my you can see everywhere where there are dark below, but not on the portion also white of the page.

  • Place the photos high resolution in InDesign - look terrible when I resize down! Does not work why!

I'm a beginner with InDesign, so I'm looking for very clear instructions. I work with CS6 on a ballot. When I place very large, high resolution photos in and then try to resize the terrible resolution looks down.  I use the tool place during the import. At first I thought it was because I use the 'content to the chassis Fit' tool and who had settled the proportions. So I tried to "Adjust the frame proportionally" and who did not, any more than "automatic adjustment". I have tried to place photos and then making a control + drag to resize down - it did not work. I looked at preferences - file handling - preserve Image Dimensions (I deselected that option). Also, did not work. I wonder if the resizing affects pixels, but I don't know where to find it in InDesign. I found the instructions for Photoshop on the choice of Image - resize the Image, but not in InDesign. The other thing, on what I am wondering is that I put these pictures in a text box - which could cause problems with the resolution? Should I be placing them another way?

Any advice would be appreciated with gratitude!

You should always use one of the options adjustment proportional to avoid distortion. This may mean that you need to change the shape of the image frame allows you to adapt the shape of the image, or crop the image to take into account the shape of the frame. It is a reality.

I'm starting to think that some or all the original problem may be in the jpeg compression, and I doubt that Pixillion Image Convertor is a good choice for downsampling (which isn't the same thing as compression). You can post one of these pictures somewhere for us to watch?

When I view my Photos, they have a place and a date. How can I print them with that on them?

You want to print the information on the image itself?  To do this, you will need to export the picture on the desk and edit it with a 3rd party image editor that supports the text and layers:

Some Image editors that support layers and text:

    Photoshop Elements for Mac 11 - $79

    GraphicConverter - $40
    The Rainbow painter - $30

    Photos of affinity- $50

    FX Photo Studio - $30

    Imaging - $38
    Acorn - $50

  • Why is my Adobe Stock image pixellisant when I place it in InDesign?

I am a former member of Fotolia and DollarPhotoClub.  I have no questions, choose files Illustrator .eps or .jpg for Photoshop in the past.  Always when I placed the images in InDesign, they were clear for the large banners (4'x 8') I do.  Now, unfortunately, every picture I have download for use on my banner templates are pixellisant to the original format.  I convert to .pdf before sending it to the company of the banner, but still get an error of them telling me that my images are pixelated.  I tried to smart objects, upping the resolution, change the size... nothing seems to work!  ANY one out there who has a suggestion?

Limit your search to the vectors will give you pictures you can resize to whatever size you like. I'm not aware of any site image of Stock that have photos to the size you need.

  • Newbie: Place the Photo

I'm about 1 day to come to grips with InDesign, after using Photoshop for my projects of basic design for years. I'm having trouble with the photo I want to use as a background for my image, it's a huge, commercial quality TIFF image, but he pixillates like a mobile phone of snapshot when I place in my InDesign format A4 document. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong, but I can't understand it - I wonder if it's something to do with the process of scaling (the photo is too large for the workspace, so I scale down just using the brake handles). Any help would be appreciated!

(Tabitha Spottybottom is my cat, incidentally!)

What you see is just the preview screen. Go to object > display performance and choose high quality display.

The same can be done for the entire document under view > display performance.

Photo Gallery - cannot save changes

When you edit a photo, I get this message: "unable to save changes to this picture because library has encountered a problem." Last week I played ignorance a little with my services, disabling some supposedly speeding up my computer and also played with my Start menu. I don't know that I've changed, however. Can any particular service being disabled cause this problem? Thank you and have a nice day.

  • Place the pdf into Indesign CC previews possible previous version bug

I am just placing the pdf in Indesign, see the import options box pulls up earlier versions of the pdf file. The pdf is a 4-page newsletter that I've separated into 4 individual pds but the when I place it in indesign, he wants to pass the original pdf (UN-separated) file. I re-recorded and moved the pdf separated, but did not helped, also, I restarted my computer and tried a new indesign document.

    You crop in the PDF?

I'm not 100% certain that your problem is, so tell me if I'm wrong. In my example below, I have a cropped PDF. If I placer place in InDesign, and then select crop to: Bounding Box (as in your example), the entire image is available. Cropping in Acrobat is temporary and may be uncropped. When I choose the harvest: harvest (as in my example), it happens only with acreage (in my case, the part in the framing box).

Play with these settings to see if you get the desired results and report.

  • Why the background objects are appearing on top when an image is placed in indesign?

I have a customer provided logo vector and looks fine in Illustrator, but when I place it in InDesign or rasterize the part of the background image is reflected upwards, then prints even in this way. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

The black line on this element of context is set to overprint.

    1. Re-open in Illustrator, select the item and see the attributes Panel.
    2. Uncheck the overprint Stroke.
    3. Record.

  • When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated.

When I export a photo from lightroom, the image is very pixelated. This Burr occurs regardless of whether I do adjustments in Lightroom.  It seems that place just the photo in it develop modual without doing anything to it taints the image in such a way that when it is exported from the modual develop the export pixelated fate.

There is a radical difference between these two images. Incredibly, export of Lightroom has been shrunk down so it has fewer pixels. This means that if you try to display them on a similar screen size, you will need to expand by zoom. Really just, which increases the size of the pixels, so pixilization. He looks exactly like its original size. I think you should just turn off the Image resizing option (uncheck the Resize to fit) in your export settings to get the quality you are looking for.

  • Help with html files when you place the overlay Web content

    Hello

We have an educational application with plenty of interactive exercises - which were originally designed in Flash.

I have converted in HTML using Wallaby fla files. For each fla file, Wallaby creates a js, css and html file but also an active file.

When I place the frame Web Content, and then link it to the html file, it link to the real HTML created Wallaby? It wont let me select the folder containing all the files in that, and I can't link to a zip file either... Then, how it recognizes assets if I select only the html file? (see screenshot)

Or do I need to add a HTMLResources file and bind it to who?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You a link to the HTML file but make sure that these things are in their own folder or InDesign will add EVERYTHING in the folder that has the HTML in there.

  • Blurry photos in InDesign

    Hello

I am new to Indesign and attempt to create documents with pictures in them.  When I photoshop my image in photoshop, the image will look fine but when I place it in Indesign is blurred and jerky. I checked my setting and everything is set to high quality.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The problem that mdoudna86 had is with the view setiing, not the image itself. If you experience this problem in InDesign go to the Menu view > display performance and select typical display or high quality screen. This should solve the problem.
