  • Understanding, IKE Phase I and II

Hi, I've been through the concept of a lot of time, but what confuses me, is encryption algorithm and a key to the DH, how they go hand in hand in IKE phase II.  I understand phase I authenticates the vpn peers and negotiates policy ISAKMP which includes Exchange Diffie-Hellman and symmetric encryption example WITH or TDES.  What I don't understand is what Exchange Diffie-Hellman (key derived from the public/private function) is used for, it encrypts the exchange of IKE2 already encrypted with DES/TDES/AES.

Also if m do not use PFS in Phase II, would I by using the same key DH derived at the time of the phase I, if yes which is secure enough?

Another issue is when the peers authenticate each other and then the protocol IKE phase I policy are exchanged, happens in clear text?

Could someone please explain the process step by step in the two phases stressing precisely on the Diffie-Hellman exchange and how it is used with encryption algorithms.

    Concerning

    Sonu

    Sonu,

Looks like you want to go back to RFC to take a peek. We have also a series of documents explaining IKEv1 and goes with debugging.

What you miss is that in IKEv1 (main mode), messages, 5 and 6 are already encyrpted, while the previous, including Diffie-Hellman exchange are not.

MM5 MM6 is when we exchange their identities. Those who must be protected, where the DH before negotiating.

Phase 2 is a separate Exchange protected with the result of the phase 1. The role of DH for the phase 2 is to ensure that the encryption keys are not from previous key material.

isakmp policy number and the number of ipsec policy do not match your ASA or with the other end. They are two distinct phases of negotiation. The ASA will compare your policy at the other end, starting with the smallest number of policies, until a match is found.

I usually put safer policies first (i.e. with the lowest number of the police).

To create a new policy, just add it with a new policy number, anywhere where you want in the order.

  • How to determine when a subsequence in the main group of MainSequence was called simply?

I want to implement a custom for my operator Interface progress bar and I've seen some tutorials OR how do but IMHO, the solution is very ugly in which the MainSequence hardcoded events UI message statically send completion percentage.

Which, according to me, a better method would be to have the reminder SequenceFilePostStep increment a counter FileGlobal only when a subsequence in the main group of MainSequence has been called.  I already understood how to get the total number of subsequences MainSequence into the main group using the expression:

    RunState.SequenceFile.AsSequenceFile.GetSequenceByName ("MainSequence"). GetNumSteps (StepGroup_Main).

It is the bold part above that I don't know how to do and that you would be grateful for assistance in this regard.  Once I have these two values that I can simply divide the two and send a UserMessage interface operator with completion percentage.

    Thank you!

    Hi Sean,.

Instead of having the SequenceFilePostStep in your file of the client's sequence, you can put the statement step in the process template using a reminder of ProcessModelPostStep.

Previously, when I said the words, I meant the prerequisite, but I think that you understood what I meant...

It's a thing of style and readability - a precondition will make your movie look nice and compact, whereas an IF / END block improves readability, etc..

I am currently writing sequences to use flow control measures (IF / END, SELECT / CASE, FOR, WHILE) for USE related to logical tests, where decision making or a loop is part of the requirements customer and pre conditions TestStand logic such as this.

    See you soon,.

Could adjust your game of transformation?

    Right now you have: crypto ipsec transform-set MY-0WN-TS-MD5 ah-md5-hmac esp - aes 256 esp-md5-hmac

Could you change strictly cela ESP or AH on both sides rather than mix them.

There is a known issue with the ASR and the mixture AH / ESP in ipsec configuration. I'll post below:

    CSCtb60545 / CSCsv96390

Mixing protocols AH and ESP in transformation defined on ASR may not work. This is an enhancement request who will introduce support for this.

    Symptoms:

Router can display as a result of messages to the console:
    % 3-ACE-TRANSERR: ASR1000-ESP (14): IKEA trans 0x27E; opcode 0 x 60; Param 0x2A.
    error 0 x 5; Retry cnt 0
    Conditions:
This symptom is observed on a Cisco ASR1000 series router when works as an IPSec
final point, and when nested transformation is applied, such as:
    Crypto ipsec transform-set transform-1 ah-sha-hmac esp-3des esp-md5-hmac
    Crypto ipsec transform-set transform-1 ah-md5-hmac esp-3des esp-md5-hmac
    Workaround solution:
    Remove the unsupported configuration.

  • subVIs does not function when it is called by main secondary to vi

    Hi all

I have a main.vi that loads the façade into a secondary four subVIs when selected. Like most applications, everything works fine up to come to build the project (.exe). Program works as expected when run it from .exe but when all the vi.lib functions (for example reading png Subvi) is included in one of the subVIs called, the façade is loaded correctly, but the Subvi is not running and the invoke node (perform a VI generates error 1003).

I've included the subVIs in 'Always include' in the specification to build under the heading Source files.

    Help, please

    Thank you

I made a significant change to your "called" sub - VI (I created an icon for it - you'll see why it's important in a minute) and again your main VI.  This code snippet is saved in LabVIEW 2015, but it is simple enough that you should be able to recreate it in any LabVIEW version you are using.

I like to use references static VI (the first thing on the block diagram) because, especially if they are associated with a Subvi with an icon, they provide a mnemonic, robust and easy to get a lot of useful sub - VI 'properties' (for example the path) without worrying about the execution environment.  In particular, they work very well with the Start function Asynchronous Call, I think it's much simpler to use than the VI server method.  I'll walk you through it...

    1. Start with a static reference of VI to the Subvi to run asynchronously.  If your Subvi has an icon, it will appear (as shown here) in the body of the static VI reference, which makes it slightly better documented.  Notice the Red Star on top of the static reference - which indicates a reference strictly - type (right click and choose strictly typed), you need to the asynchronous call start.
    2. This reference gets first wired to a property node - the unusual appearance of the node ('VI Interface Type 2') comes from the strictly typed reference.  We choose the Path property.
    3. The path gets plugged into an open VI reference function.  Because we use asynchronous Start Call (Forget), we specify Option 0 x 80 (glance using reference VI open for further explanation).  We also wire the Strict Type of step 1 at the entrance to this function Type.
    4. The VI reference resulting is wired to Start Asynchronous Call, which starts the called sub - VI.
    5. We also spend it to Insert Secondary VI method, which shows the sub - VI running in the Sub panel.
    6. Now, we interact with the sub - VI in the Sub panel as much as we want to.
    7. In the main routine, we now run the while loop, waiting simply Stop pressing.  I placed a 100 msec waiting here to give priority to the Subvi.
    8. When leaving us, we remove the sub - VI of the Sub panel, he abandoned and get out.  I see no need to put a function exit here - if you want to automatically close the main façade, just do it.

    Bob Schor

P.S. - I've tested (LabVIEW 2015) and it works fine.

    Hello

I have problems with the help of queues in a project where it is called a Subvi VI main. After the Subvi call first, when I press any button labview returns following error.

"LabVIEW: an input parameter is not valid." For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @ ".»

Please find attached the file explore vi and project. I'd appreciate your comments.  I use the suite of Labview 2010 development.

    Kind regards

    Austin

    Hello Austin,.

Looks like you post your queue in the sub vi when it ends (destroy force is set to TRUE so it destroys the queue, not only the reference to the queue)

I tested it by putting a hell structure diagram around the queue of the vi in the sub vi version and it works now without raising an error.

Setting Force destroy false so that it destroys only a single reference to the queue.

  • 2 screws open when I double-click on main.vi in the project manager

When I opened my main.vi project vi another Manager opens with her. Not really a problem but a little strange and annoying. LV2011.

If it's always the same VI which opens, VI is probably ready to open the front panel when loading.  Look in the properties of VI-> the appearance of the window-> customize.  Right Left side, the bottom box.

No matter if I rotate the image or not, it does a perpendicular orientation. In the print dialog box, there is no orientation option to change from portrait to landscape or vice versa, even if

If you have the static configuration to the dynamic for IPsec between two routers, please make sure that you have this configuration:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/Tech/tk583/TK372/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080093f86.shtml

You see that the dynamic IP site has a normal static encryption card, but the side static IP has a dynamic encryption card.

This example assumes that you do NAT too.

With this configuration, the tunnel can only be started from the dynamic side.

    It will be useful.

    Federico.

  • APEX 5 - page partial refresh of specific IR refreshing all IR regions when they are in a "main" region

I created a page with several interactive reports. The main report at the top is a report of "companies". All other reports are partial reports (addresses, Contacts, etc.). I have a page that I put the value with javascript (company code) by clicking on a line from 'Companies' parent report. I have a dynamic action on the change of the page element, which then updates from subreports in society, they have chosen. When interactive reports are not in a region, it works very well. When I try to put them all inside a region main standard HTML page/visual layout purposes, they do not work and looks like it is refreshing to all reports (including the main ' firms' one). When I separate everything out of the main area, they all work very well yet. All subreports have a condition in the SQL query to limit the rows in the place where company_id =: P2_COMPANY_ID. The ir companies, does not have this condition. Right now, I just them removed from the main area, but I wonder if it is a bug.

    Hi Jen,

We agree it shouldn't / desired behavior and filed bug #21207953 for what should be fixed in the first series of patch 5.0.1.

During this time, John has proposed the following solution for me, which just is to reorganize a little, your regions such as the IRs child are not direct descendants of the parent IR so maybe you have something like this:

    IRR1

    IRR2

    IRR3

    That could be changed to:

    R1

    IRR1

    R2

    IRR2

    IRR3

Where R1 and R2 use models of simple region (for example 'white with attributes' the universal theme) which show nothing visually on your page, and because they are no longer the direct descendants of level higher IRR, prevent you unwanted refreshment.

    Kind regards

    Anthony.
