Whenever I try to install new software I get an error 1601 saying Windows install is not available
- I have a problem repeated in software installation, error 1601, saying that the software cannot start Windows Setup.
- I tried to restart the csiexec but this fails with an error of noot started csiexec

You could try to go to the MICROSOFT website, go to KNOWLAGE database and in the search bar, try the search for WINDOWS INSTALLER. Look for any version that is newer than the one you have. If this fails, try searching on GOOGLE. You can also try to do an update to WINDOWS VISTA.

I wonder if my Macbook must be sent to the trash since I can no longer get updates to the OS. I have 10.6.8. When I try it tells me that they will not be installed on this computer. It works fine but I do not receive security and other software updates any more. What can I do?
