• Problem with the CentOS post-installation Script

  Good afternoon

  I use VMware Studio 2.6 to create a couple of CentOS 6.2 VMs.  A virtual machine is perfect, the other does not work it's "Script of post-installation of Application."  I find it a little strange because if I just copy the script from Studio in the virtual machine, it works fine.  But not when I'm deployign the OVF.  What?

  The two CentOS systems are virtually the same.  the only difference is in the FULL domain name and host name lines where I grep for different properties of the FVO.

  Someone has ideas how to debug this?  Thanks in advance.  I've included the script to post below.

  Hmm. This does not resemble a script of post-installation for me at all. This script is run at the end of the installation, but the VM has not been deployed yet, so the properties of the FVO are likely not useful (they are only put in place at the time of the deployment, for the * user * unit and you do this during the compilation, like the * author * the device.) The network parameters that exist in the envionment of the author are almost certainly not this as an end user * deployment * unit is lilkely to use; their domain, dns, and network addresses certainly not will be yours). Also, you don't mention how this script "failed", that might help narrow down the cause. Look at the debug log and the postinstall.log and see if you can find the real cause of the error. But in all cases, property OVF stuff you make here is not part of the postinstall script. Instead, it looks more like something that belongs in a script firstboot, although VAMI already does most of what you do with networking.

• Parameters of OEM for pre/Post Installation (deployment/patch) Scripts

  If all goes well, a simple question.

  Install scripts OEM 12 c Supports pre/post in the form of shell scripts that can be run before and after a deployment or patching operation (for example when you deploy the Client OEM to a system, you can run a script before installation or after installation).

  These scripts can take a parameter?  Specifically, can the machine which is deployed to be transmitted to these scripts shell as a parameter (for example /opt/my_shell_script.sh HOST % where % HOST would be replaced by the host name being patched or transferred to for example).

  To be clear, I don't mean to have a script running ON the area being installed to... I want to use the box being installed in as a parameter of a script running on the Server OEM.

  Cannot find any documentation on what or if the parameters are supported in these pre/post installation scripts.

  Any information would be appreciated.

  New Installation of R12.1.1 under Linux x 86-64
  using electronic delivery zip files
  created dir staged successfully
  
  Ran rapidwiz
  New Installation and setup selected Express
  Rapidwiz worked and installed all the files, but it failed at the end when you post for post install
  When the screen showed to validate system configuration post-installation verification:
  
  I got the http error (RW-50015: error:-HTTP listener does not respond)
  Error details:

  I can't launch sqlplus, no access to the database.
  It seems variable villas are not defined as echo shows an empty value.

  These two users should be sufficient. For the cleaning of your previous installation failed, simply follow the steps outlined in the document.

  Before this ad here I did research this and other forums for the solution, but found no one. After getting through the steps of installation, it fails on the post installation check. Everything is fine except for the login page.
  
  I have identified the most likely reason for what is OracleVIS_XXXXX_TOOLSTNSListenerAPPS_VIS works not. When I try to start it manually, it fails with the following message is displayed:
  
  "The OracleVIS_XXXXXX_TOOLSTNSListenerAPPS_VIS service on local computer started and then stopped".
  
  I saw the post saying that he is in/etc/hosts or LISTENER. ORA, but none of them worked. I added the line to the hosts, but it did not help. I edited the LISTENER. ORA by changing of SID = SID = APPS_VIS, do not help either.

  I try to install EBS R12 for three weeks with the same result (after five fail post-installation verification).

  I tried to install Oracle Linux 5.8 32 bit and Oracle Linux 5.8 64-bit but end result is the same. When I installed Linux oral, I chose all the option packages. I also used the latest version of RapidWiz as suggested by some posts on the forum (and also in response to my other post by Hussein).

  Each installation attempt failed with the following text:

  Well, I must fix it in next (trying to start Apache (adapcctl.sh) casts a ' error while loading Shared Libraries: libdb.so.2' on RedHat Linux 5 (Doc ID 879522.1)).

  Once you run the commands in the MOS Doc, stop and start the services than those mentioned above and it should seem so

  I installed 11.2.0.3.0 on AIX 7.1. Post-installation tasks begin with download and install patches. I'm not sure the patches or power supply to install. By following the instructions in the installation guide, I'm going to My Oracle Support, then to patches and updates, and specify the database Oracle and IBM AIX 64-bit. 'Libération' select 11.2.0.3.0 or select the seven versions of 11.2.0.3.0 - 11.2.0.3.6? If I select the seven research returns 1293 patches. The instructions are obviously not telling me to download and apply all the patches from 1293. Then, I tried the newest PSU and see that the power supply 11.2.0.3.6 was published on April 17, 2013. What is the right thing to apply? Can I download only PSU 11.2.0.3.6 and apply, or do I have to do something else not described here?
