  Figured it out.  in the toolbar, select settings and change to 'use Classic mode. Frustrating.

  The harvest of the oval is called a thumbnail and as you pointed out, is not difficult.

  For this photo the pen tool would be the best (if you learned how to use it). Otherwise the magnetic Lasso, clicking at intervals to keep the sketch; follow-up of the Quick Mask tool (press Q) to clean the edges with a black hard brush.

  When the baby is selected either drag to a new image or invert the selection (Ctrl + Shift + I) and press DELETE. You can also make a mask, but it's in the next lesson!

  It is usually located in the same location of the Toolbox as the healing and spot Healing Brush tools.

  Click and hold on the icons in the tool box to reveal the menu for other tools in the same location of the Toolbox.

  Or press J on the keyboard, then press SHIFT + J to successively view tools in this niche.

  What version of photoshop are you using?

  If you do not see, the quick selection tool is probably chosen.

  Press (that's a pressure downwards, not click) on the Quick Selection tool and hold the button for a moment.

  ALT + T you should get there. Options is under Tools on the menu bar. Pressing alt makes the menu bar appear if not already displayed.

  If you use the AppMenu (square with 3 lines) button click the AppMenu, hover over the Options, and then select Options.
