where can I get a list of all services in Win XP and how they should be handled?

I use Windows XP Pro Media Center edition 2005. For example, I use 8.  Since I changed my services on this computer is super slow. I got the list from a Microsoft site. What start up programs should also be checked?

Change Windows services is not a good way to solve the problems of Windows. What site "Microsoft" suggested it? And using msconfig (which seems to be what you use) is a particularly bad idea.  Msconfig is a diagnostic tool, not a Startup Manager.

See http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-xp-x86-32-bit-service-pack-3-service-configurations/ and start by reading "Notes for a computer and user happier."

In regard to the determination of which programs should run at startup, only you can decide what programs you have running.  And the programs that start at startup of Windows isn't really the answer to a computer running slowly.  What you should worry about, is what remains active after you start the computer.  Start by opening the Task Manager, by selecting the processes tab and double click the column CPU to sort the processes running that takes the most CPU resources.

Don't forget to check the box "Show processes from all users" and IGNORE the process named "System Idle Task."  If a particular task takes much of the CPU resources of the research the name of the task.

  • Where can I get a list of all devices that support OS 5.0

    Hi all

    When you submit a request to the AppWorld, I wonder to select the supported devices. My applications work on any device with OS 5.0, but I can't find a list of all devices that support OS 5.0 (shipped with it or with option 5.0). Anyone knows where I can find such a list.

    Thank you

    Wolf

    Don't worry about this. Just select as minimum supported OS 5.0 version and after that select all possible devices. App World will correspond to devices, and the version of the OS, i.e. users with OS 5.0 devices will see your app while that those who have the lower version of the OS won't be able to see or to download your application.

    Hello

    If I want to get a list of everyone in the "To", "CC" and "BCC" fields, is it possible more effectively than below?

    Currently, I am doing this (this is the "ELSE", I am talking here):

    public void messagesAdded(FolderEvent e)
        {
            logWriter.log("Email message "+(e.getMessage().isInbound()?"received":"sent"));
            emailMessage = e.getMessage();

            boolean isInbound = (e.getMessage().isInbound()?true:false);

            if(inbound)
            {
                // There'll only be 1 "from" person, I might possibly handle other recipients later
                String name = emailMessage.getFrom().getName();
                name = name.substring(1,emailMessage.getFrom().getName().length()-1);
            }
            else
            {
                    // Retrieve all types of recipient
                    Address[] sentTo  = emailMessage.getRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO);

    Address[] recipients = emailMessage.getRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO && Message.RecipientType.CC && Message.RecipientType.BCC);

    Something like that would be possible? This is (obviously) my first time using the electronic portion of the blackberry dev and I'm pretty new to blackberry as a whole, so sorry if there's something obvious I'm missing here.

  • How can I get a list of all IEEE 1394 defined in MAX cameras?

    I can use the DAQmx_System:Global_Channels property node to get all global DAQ channels defined in MAX, but is it possible to do something similar to get all the names of camera?  I am after all especially the IEEE-1394 cameras, but would be happy with a list of all the cameras to begin with.  Is there a property node that I'm over looking?

    Hi, Christopfer,

    You can use IMAQdx list Cameras.vi for a list of all the cameras. (of course, here I assumed that IMAQdx used to connect to the IEEE-1394 camera).

    Another way is utility CameraValidator.exe with key/enum - this will also list the available cameras.

  • Where can I get a list and a description of the programs that load when I turn on my computer?

    I recently bought a Pavilion p7-1010 PC with operating system Windows 7. On my previous HP, I got a list of programs that started when I turned on my computer and those to whom I could remove to start which were really not essential to have running.

    Is there a place I can find a similar list for this computer and possibly a recommendation for those who I can disable.

    Thank you

    Hello rmh56, what would be a little difficult to determine, given that every computer comes with different programs.

    I have no way of knowing how to determine which programs can be prevented from leaving on a particular computer.

    You can try unchecking each of those entries one at a time and restart the system, or log and see if the programs perform normally, but this could be a very long process.

    Unless you are certain that a program is not necessary, I would leave checked.

    I just checked my startup programs and I shows that I have 15 startup programs.

    This doesn't seem to affect my system performance at all. I check all out them.

    Basically the desired result is a list of all links/URLS used in an Excel worksheet, additional information is a plus.

    If there are ways through the API, it is also welcomed.

    The Web site is subject to a few changes and we would like to keep all links living in them the remapping to the end server.

    Hi all

    First two ideas come to mind:

    1. go to Insight and run the Email clicks link ventilation report to see the links and clicks used in various emails. This will allow you to search for links to the last 730 days. However, note that if you have an abundance of links, the report may timeout. This is why the guests page, you may need to search specifically for a range of dates (month or two at a time) until you have all the expected results.

    2. using other APIs. The live docs for Rest API include the ability to search hyperlinks in emails. For instructions to access the direct documentation, see the Oracle Support Document 2078514.1 (how access rest and bulk API Live Docs) to: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=2078514.1. Once inside the live docs do the following:

    • Click on liabilities

    • Entry 'Complete' in depth to make sure that you check out the URL for each hyperlink

  • where can I get a winows vista home basic startup disk? And can I use a back up from another pc which is vista Home premium?

    be necessary to restart the laptop with Vista Home Basic, but do not have a backup, can make a backup of my desktop vista Home premium if it will work?

    Hello

    You cannot use a backup from a Home Premium computer to reinstall Vista Basic on another computer.

    There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

    They should do this for a small fee.

    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

    Ask them to the proper key sequence.

    And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

    Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

    If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    "How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
