  I had the same problem today. Trying to delete a load of unwanted pdf files out of my downloads using Windows Explorer folder. I use Windows 8.1.

  I discovered that if I turned off the preview pane in Windows Explorer which deletes files just by right-click and 'delete '. It seems that the preview pane has been necessary to the file and therefore prevent its deletion.

  Hello, I have Acrobat Standard XI and the following question.

  I can't delete files PDF, as the system continues to tell me that they are open in the other program... Of course they aren't! Tried to restart windows, but it did not work, I tried to reinstall acrobat and it did not work.

  How are you trying to remove: from Windows Explorer?  Have you seen active thumbnail?  Can remove you them if you switch the view from Windows Explorer to the details?

  Try this: -.

  The default "Save as" dialog Acrobat DC is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Edit menu access-> Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

  Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

  These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

  One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.

  PS please do not post ALL uppercase; It is very difficult to read!

  Uninstall your creative cloud application that basically allows you to download apps and redownload it. This should do the job. Your system just lost you license update.

  Sara, problem solved.  FYI-I went to Google tool bar/internet reception/security/choose medium security / clicked on allow reliable messaging users / restarted the computer and success!  Put finely pfd to download and print.  I tried this before but did restart.   Please provide this information to all users of Adobe Reader XI.   I tried to do this by using the search but it will find only them, if they occur as a long chain, that is to say "Here's the answer" rather than how they occur in the document it is to say "Here 's" a bunch of information that leads you to 'the answer'. The search feature so standard did not help.

  Then I tried to do this by using the tool to delete (obviously not the application of writing!) because it allows me to search for multiple words or phrases, however it is not highlight what page both are found. I tried to turn on the preference to enable deletions of comments and even if it meant that I could then go through all the comments, it's still not faster than my document is more than 1,000 pages, which meant there were too many total comments for me to be able to easily identify which page had both.

  Any ideas?

  There is no built-in way to search for two strings and limited to show only the results that appear on the same page.

  It can be done by using a custom script, however.

  You can use Acrobat Pro to combine multiple PDFs into a single PDF.

  You may be able to use Acrobat Standard as well - not sure.

  In my view, there is also a the Adobe online subscription service hosts that combine multiple PDFs into a single PDF.

  As for search. To make available content of every PDF should be text with a font mapping of characters of the regular police having families (each character we see ("glyph") represents a specific numerical value, which is held in the file under the hood) which in turn has a correct mapping to Unicode.  If there are pages that are the output of text parser image then make sure you use OCR to get the result of the OCR to support search/search.

  With all the 'one' PDF support find simple. Using Acrobat Pro, you can embed a search Index. This is a simple step. For full service advanced search use Acrobat Pro to create a stand alone catalogue Index (see the help file).

  To combine PDF files, how can I keep security to prohibit printing and text entry? In Windows Explorer, I highlight the individual PDF files, right click and choose "combine with Adobe Acrobat. I'm done and get my single file with all the PDF pages included, but nowhere I can't find where them prohibit printing of the any PDF combined or refusing to be seized of the text... as I'm able to do when I export to PDF from InDesign.

  It's really a question of Acrobat, but in any case the answer is you open the file in Acrobat and go to properties (Ctrl + D), and then click the Security tab.
