  I recently got a new computer - and on the old computer, there are several custom "Adobe PDF Page sizes" (used in the print dialog box).

  I did a search on the old computer for .joboptions files and found the folder c:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Settings, but I don't see not all files with names that match my custom formats (i.e. "Daves book cover"). I also did a search for the files named (for example) 'Daves Book Cover' nothing helps...

  Any ideas where I might find these types of files in order to copy them to my new computer and I can't recreate from scratch?

  I have an MS Access 2007 application that uses an Adobe printer to create PDF files.  We're working for several years on XP machines but from where the PC upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and MS Office 2010 32-bit it has stopped working.

  Initially, I could specify the PDF file to create, and then wait for it to be created before moving the file to the server.  Now even though the registry seems to be changed as before the user is now be prompted to enter a file name.

  I printed the Adobe PDF through word and Notepad and they appear in the same registry, so I guess this isn't a registry problem 32-bit/64-bit.

  Unfortunately I was not responsible for the earlier installation or current adobe products have so no idea which can be different between then.  The name of the printer changed to Adobe for Adobe PDF if that makes a difference but I changed the code to call the new printer.

  Any help on how to track down the issue would be more useful.

  If you want to use Adobe Acrobat, you can simply change the preference that has messed up:

  Go to Firefox > Preferences > Applications and search for "PDF file".

  Beside that, select use Adobe Acrobat (or use the preview) rather than Adobe Acrobat NPAPI 10.1.3

  Adobe NPAPI plug-in does not work on Firefox 64-bit... There's probably a bug where the Adobe Reader update puts this preference.

  I have no problem with my C5580 all-in-One since I bought it.  Recently, I updated my Adobe PDF version and downloaded the lates updates to my C5580.  Since then, I can scan is no longer in PDF format.  PDF is no longer an option on the scanner.  I now only .tif .jpg and .bmp.  I tried everything that is allowed through troubleshooting.  RELOADED PDF.  Reloaded software C5580 all.  Still ot give me the PDF option.  I even called HP.  The only answer was that it seems to be broken!  I had already found this option.  I was told that printers do not last forever and that I coould get a lot about a new all-in-one printer.

  I read every article I could find on this problem.  All the questions and answers page and nothing found concerning this problem.  Anyone with any suggestions?

  In addition, the printer prints very well.  Copier works fine.  Prints like a pro.  Somewhere, there must be a reason and a difficulty.

  What software you scan for? It is the center of HP solutions or any other application?

  In the meantime, try to launch the installation of the printer once more, click on install additional software and look for option Read IRIS OCR.

  If this option is avaialble install it, restart your computer and check any change.

• Adobe Acrobat 7 has worked well under Win 7RC1 (32 bit), cannot create Adobe PDF Port_Printer in Win7 (64 bit)

  I had Windows 7RC1 intalled Acrobat 7 (32 bit) and everything worked perfectly.  Now, I have installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7 and get an error message "Warning 20225. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adober PDF Port_Printer.  The PDF Adober printer may be unavailable.                "GetLastError: the operation completed successfully."

  It is just incompatible with the 64-bit version?  Information from Adobe on the said error message is not compatibile Win 7, but it certainly worked well in the 32-bit release candidate of Windows 7.

  Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional is installed with Design Premium, Design Standard, and Creative Suite 3 Web Premium versions. Although Adobe has tested Adobe Acrobat 8.0 (Standard and Professional) on the operating systems Microsoft Windows 64-bit running on a 64-bit processor computer, there are known limitations.   In order for Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to be supported, the application must be updated after installation.

  1. When the error occurs, click Cancel to exit the dialog box and continue with the installation.

  Manually extract the 'adobepdf.dll_64 ' of the file data1.cab file before installing Acrobat. When the prompt appears, navigate to this file and select it.

  1. Navigate to the folder that contains the file setup.exe to your installation of Acrobat 8.
  2. Locate the file "data1.cab" and open it (this may require a third-party compression utility, such as WinZip).
  3. Inside the content list, locate the file "adobepdf.dll_64" and copy it to your desktop.
  4. Run the program setup.exe installation and when the prompt appears, select Browse and select the file that you copied to the desktop.
     Note: If the file cannot be selected, change the file type drown down in the dialog box to "All files", or rename the file "adobepdf.dll" by removing "_64" from the end of the file extension.

  Because the Adobe PDF printer is not supported on 64-bit operating systems, version 64 bits of the AdobePDF.dll does not get extracted during installation. So, the installation program is unable to locate him. Although Acrobat is installed, the Adobe PDF printer will not install. Following the update procedure above will address the issue.

  You could try to mention below as follows:

  1 check if there is an update available for Acrobat, launch Acrobat > go to the Help menu > then select check updates.

  2. If that doesn't work, try to remove the printer Adobe PDF under control panel and then add it again. Go to control panel > select devices and printers > under printers > select Adobe PDF > right-click on it and select Remove the instrument. To manually add the Adobe PDF printer, visit this link:install PDF printer manually.

  3-If this does not work, try to repair the installation of Acrobat under Help menu > select repair installation.

  Acrobat DC will give you the same functionality as you have in Acrobat 9, but are compatible with the Win10 and office 2013. You can download a free trial version and check if it works for you before you buy/index. Do not install on a system eval version with existing Acrobat is installed (unless you are ready to reinstall, which may not work in your situation).
