Where the command vmware-mount?

I installed vCLI 4.1 on my debian machine, but no command vmware-mount. Where can I find this command? Or what else can I install this?

Thank you much for the help!

It is part of the VMware VDDK - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vddk/ if you are referring to the disk mount utility

  • VMware-mount has the ability to mount the dynamic disk?

I understand that there are 2 types of VMDK / disks: basic and dynamic. I would like to know if vmware-mount exe has the ability to set up dynamic disks? If so, how?

I tried to use the command vmware-mount as:

    " X: vmware-mount ' [storage1 | ] http://communities.VMware.com/community-document-picker.jspa?communityID= & subject = storage1 "[ ] VMDKName.vmdk ' /h:IPAddress u:UserName /s:Password i:DataCenterName/vm/VMName

"Unable to mount the virtual drive. The disk can be used by a virtual machine, may not have enough volumes or mounted under a different drive letter. If not, check that the file is a valid virtual disk file. ».

  • How to find where VMDK and ISO mounted

    VMware dear master,

I have trouble with my virtual environment,

    1. when I need remove ISO file, it says that currently used. How to find where the ISO is mounted?

(manual search with see providing the edict for small environment is OK, but with vm 468 comments it is very complicated )

    2. I need to clean my data store, I found a file with file 3 vmdk, how to find this vmdk mounted?

Thank you for your attention and support,

    Kind regards

I would like to give a RVTools: RVTools - home

    1. you should be able to use the vCD tab to find the ISO image in the device column (you can export to Excel and make a 'discovery' on the name of the file to facilitate this)

    2. you can use the tab vDisk and search again on the path column.

  • Run the command in the comments - vRO options?

Hi, I am currently using vRo to run a script simple powercli with 'invoke-vmscript"to run a command at a prompt linux once it is supplied of vRA (it changes the hosts file). I'm looking for another method to do this, if someone could share their experience please.

I thought to SSH could help, but I am dependent on having an IP address or the host name when I run the workflow. That is not the case that I need to wait for it to start, get address DHCP and save DNS.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I could achieve? The PowerCLI works because I can do the name of the computer that went from vRA. However, the script does not work very cleanly and I would find that an alternative with vRO is possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Steve

    No problem

Yes, you can easily run these commands with the vRO workflow.

When you log on to your linux VM you can use the command "which" where the "command/program' is you want to run, so

"what echo" showing you the executable you call is "/ bin/echo", while passwd is on centos for example "/ usr/bin/passwd.

  • stop all VMS using the command line

    Hello

    I use vSphere 4.1.

I want to stop all using my VM command line, but at the same time (if possible), in a flexible way.

I know there is the command vmware-cmd, but it only works if the virtual machine has vmtools installed, and this is not the case in some of my virtual machines.

So, is there another way to stop a virtual machine (which is not installed vmtool) command line?

    Thank you.

I have changed according to your needs. the following command turns off only to the desired virtual machine

Just replace the name of yourvm with the name of the virtual machine and provide your credentials vcenter IP and the user. I marked in red.

When executing this command to keep an eye on vcenter you will notice vm stop

    Connect-VIServer vcenterIP address - protocol https-yourusername username-password yourpassword

    Get-VM-yourvm name. Stop-VMGuest-confirm: $false

  • Where is the installer for the Source column of the command in other tab of orders?

    Hello!

I would like to ask where to find the installer for the Source column of the command in other tab of orders. I saw internal and online, I think it's always external.

    Thank you.

    Jon

Order header Source is the origin of the order-using the OM Super user responsibility, see Setup-> controls-> import Sources.  I think that external is a Source Type on the command line that indicates if the line item will be provided by your org or bought.

  • Upgrade Horizon 1.5 - where to run the command of?

May be a stupid question but I was reading in the 1.5 upgrade guide and it says the following:

    Procedure

    1. go to the command line to start the upgrade.

    2. run the updatemgr.hzn command.

    Update/usr/local/horizon/lib/menu/updatemgr. HZN

Where is this supposed to be run from? A particular virtual machine?

    The Configurator WILL.

  • VMWare Player startup with the command line command does not work!

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the community and it will probably show. So, I say sorry in advance for the flaws, I'll do. Since I am of German native language I need to translate it into English. So, I could use special terms wrong, but I'll certainly try to avoid this. Just keep in mind. And now my question:

I was running VMware Player 3.0 with VMware Tools installed and VMware VIX 1.8.0 installed on a host of Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. The Useraccount on the host has administrator rights. Guest operating system is WinXP SP3. Since I need two softwares of different recording/Dictation on my workstation and I could only one of them simultaneously open (which is very uncomfortable, when you need to change frequently), because those two were always challenging who got to use the microphone, I installed a second microphone (that only the application for the two contest) and then created a virtual machine to run the software second with one of the two microphones connected only to the prompt. (Directly/comfortably) to start the second software I created a. LNK shortcut file (and attached to the startmenu) who run the command

    Departure of player "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware" t "C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene virtual Computer\Recorder Windows XP Pro Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx VM SP3\Recorder VM.

with the recorder VM "VM Windows XP Pro SP3" opening the second software automatically (autostart).

This worked well, until I updated my VMware Player to 3.0.1. Since the update however, my shortcut file simply is unable to start the virtual machine. However, starting the virtual machine of VMWare Player normal window still works. By running the command mentioned above constitute the command line prompt, I got the information, this vmrun.exe could not connect to the host, due to an error, the specified version is not found, which probably means that the VMware Player.

    P:\ & gt; "" Player t C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX\vmrun.exe "start"C:\Use ".

virtual rs\USERPROFILE\Eigene Computer\Recorder VM Windows XP Pro SP3\Record

ER VM Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx"

Unable to connect to the host.

Error: The specified version is not found

    P:\ & gt;

I tried the VMware VIX update (from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1) without success. The errormessage even remains.

The three relevant paths for VMware Player, VMware Vix and the VM are spezified in the systemvariable path as follows:

    % SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\; "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX ". "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player. " "' Virtual C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene computer; C:\Program Files (x 86) \QuickTime\QTSystem\

    Today suddenly wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to one that solves the Enigma.
