I do not have a rectangle tool - I searched all the menus, tried to press each button, but none of them are a rectangle tool.   OK, so I'm a new user, Got PSE8 2 days ago and got a lot of things figured out for me.  Even made a collage of photos from a trip in a pic (lots of layers)...      Then I watched the video tutorial, (ERROR obviously) because I tried the command of REDIAL, as shown in the video " http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-elements-8/new-features-recompose-tool/ " and now...

  The ONLY tool that appears on the screen is the 'Michael Jackson' glove (and it does nothing more)

  In any editing mode, I can choose any tool in the toolbar, and the icon of the slider remains the glove.

  Culture, eyedroper, recompose, deletion, cookie-cutter, brush, can be selected, but the cursor remains the glove.

  So after more than an hour to try to solve this, I uninstalled PSE8 and reinstalled, and all of the presets REMAINED, if the cursor has not changed.

  For now PSE8 is unnecessary because there are no tools to use, PSE8 think that all the tools are the golve, and even the glove is unnecessary.

  I can choose all the tools, but none of them work, or they change the cursor to the correct icon tool, they are all the golve!

  I don't know that PSE8 is also great that I expect to be, but now the scotch in my left hand is the only thing keeping a touch of common sense here.

  I'm running Windows 7 on HP Envy 14 and I need to boot from my recovery disc.  I can get the start menu through pressing ESC, but I need to select the prompt to enter a few commands and I don't see command prompt in one of the options available in the start menu.

  I found what I was doing wrong to boot, and certainly seen the screen you attached and the command prompt.  Thanks for responding so quickly and the fixing of the screen so that I knew what I was supposed to be seeing.

  There are currently no "line tool" itself in Muse today, but there is a viable solution. In the band of control at the top of the application, select the Rectangle tool and press on and drag a rectangle on the canvas:

  

  The rectangle is selected click on the STROKE drop-down window, then 'break' the link binding all sides of the rectangle by clicking on the icon in the center of the four values defining the outline of the rectangle:

  

  When you are back on the canvas in design mode, you can resize the rectangle now to have the length you want.

  Just so that you understand, Image Maps rarely work well in web designs sensitive because the coordinates of the point of access do not resize with the image.    If you create page layouts to work on desktops, tablets and mobile phones, it is better to use separate linked images.

  Problem is that, to run the clone stamp, the preview feature has gone South. I can see my results within the 'bubble of selection", are no longer before the execution.

  Select the tool clone in the toolbar.

  Right click on the Clone tool icon at the far left of the Options bar, and then choose "Reset Tool" from the context menu.
