    Ady,

Apparently the people who helped create this software was last updated forum decided to restructure the many places as well as simply a change of software...

    FORMS are always, like REPORTS.

They were buried at the following locations tree:

  • Oracle Portal and Webcenter

    Hi all

We have Oracle Portal 10.1.4 put in place for our intranet and it works fine. We use for the past 2 years. Now, we'd like web2.0 applications

forums, wiki, voip to improve our interaction used. The below shot suggestion s to webcenters blog allows to choose the technique if it for a new implementation.

    http://blogs.Oracle.com/WebCenter/.

How ever may all explain please is a good choice to move to portal oracle webcenter for new requirements like forums, wiki, voip.etc...

If we we have an enough time to develop the application for forums and blogs (this could be done through Portal) is it interesting to get a webcenter?

We have only less content on the portal, most of them are content static managed by portal admins.

Please suggest me on this migration/choice of technology...

    Thank you
    -Prem

    Hello
We use the Webcenter Framework for a customer who is already on the Oracle Portal.
It's really a good product built by Oracle. Surely, you can migrate to webcenter taking into account the following points:

Easy integration and strengthening of Wiki, Blogs, Chat, Forum
Very easy to build, rapid development
WebCenter is provided with his own example for Forums of Discussion, Wiki (we have tried and tested that it works very well)
Support for Oracle Portal will be removed in the near future and Oracle itself supports the migration to Webcenter or BEA Weblogic portal (since now they bought BEA)
Can migrate to webcenter if you do not have to create new pages frequently (unlike the portal where you can create new pages / subpages on the fly, creating pages in the Webcenter application will you deploy the application again after construction it.)

However, there are some things that you should keep in mind:

WebCenter is relatively new, and as a result, there are a few bugs in version 10g
11g was released in beta version and if all goes well, there are many many improvements and I saw some features more (would be wise to migrate to 11g)
We are facing a few memory problems with webcenter applications, but mainly due to use of ADF Portlets in large numbers. (Hopefully resolve this soon)

    Hope these points are helpful.

  • How to implement clustering OracleAS Portal?

    Hi all

Can someone tell me pls for the docs on the OracleAS Portal Cluster (version 10.1.4) implementation?

In addition, on the deployment of portal development on production server server (using export/import), it takes on all the nodes, or can we just deploy once in the cluster?

    Hello Xtanto,

The Oracle documentation provides instructions to configure Oracle Portal in a "cluster." For 10.1.2.0.2, and 10.1.4:

  • The Oracle Fusion product orientation

    Hello

I found a whitepaper retailer Weblogic Portal as the product of fusion portal, however, I am not able to 10.3 weblogic portal download on the product of fusion 11g download page (which has the oracle Portal).

What is the meaning for Weblogic Portal? This would be the product of fusion Portal? Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    Thank you
    Yohanna.

The statement of management for Oracle WebLogic Portal is here:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/WebLogic/Portal/PDF/wlp_10gr3_sod.PDF

For Oracle Fusion applications, which refers to the next generation of Oracle Applications (think Siebel, Peoplesoft, etc.), Oracle WebCenter is the Foundation for those. Oracle WebCenter interacts with Oracle WebLogic Portal to share portlets, WLP can use efficiently merger applications. However, if you are looking to build a Fusion 'Apps' application from scratch, I'd first look WebCenter.

  • Dynamics, where the form of Clause - Oracle 10g

    Hi all

The scenario is we provide an interface (via form 10g) to execute different queries. These requests have set the columns and tables (for example, we have same SELECT and FROM clauses for each request). However, WHERE clause is unique for each request. So, I'm writing a dynamic cursor, but DYNAMIC CURSORS are not clear for me. I post my code for taking advice from experts in the forum.

    END;

Just so that I understand what you're trying, you are not display the results in your form, you simply run a dynamic query that you export the results to a file.  Is this correct?

So, what happens when you run your code?  Are you an error (If Yes, what is the full error)?

One suggestion that I have after reviewing your code example is that you don't have a space after your FROM clause before you concatenate your WHERE Clause in your sql string variable.

    Your example Code:

    ...
    FROM
    inproving_result_remarks,MTR_RET_CRD'||:WHERE_CLAUSE;

There should be a space after MTR_RET_CRD.  For example:

    ...
    FROM
    inproving_result_remarks,MTR_RET_CRD '||:WHERE_CLAUSE;

Without the space your SQL will not scan properly.

Another suggestion that I have is that you move your code from collection to a stored procedure (procedure or function) in your database of data and your stored procedure returns a collection.  This will eliminate the constant travel to the database for each line of the recording because your stored procedure will return the record complete game.  In addition, your stored procedure allows you to use dynamic SQL Native (Execute Immediate) will allow instead of using dynamic SQL from forms (EXEC_SQL) package. Native dynamic SQL is much more efficient and a lot less code.  In order to use native dynamic SQL, you must have on the Oracle Database 9i or higher.

  • FMW: Portal Upgrade Advisor - video part 4 patch the Oracle Home "how to install Oracle Middleware 11 g Rel 1 portal and discoverer" should specify to use previous pfrd Oracle Home

    https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show & type = ATT & ID = 1118681.1:PD11G_INSTALL_PT4 & inline = 1

The verbal and demo explanation does not use the original location/Oracle HOme of the previously
installed for the binary PFRD base.   It probably should.

In addition, for some steps to follow to patch binaries PFRD, I'd put it:

Step 4.  I am guessing that the patch will establish an another sub dir Disk1 and don't want to overwright
installation of the initial PFRD, therefore, moves the Group of hotfixes as follows.

    CD/opt/web/install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd
    960 ls - ltr
    Group of hotfixes mkdir 961
    Group patches 962 mv p11060983_111140_LINUX.zip
    Group patches 963 cd.
    Unzip 964 *.

RE: of course, having unpacked the group created patches another subdirectory Disk1 with his own runInstaller
    VNC gui:

I guess, all we are doing is patching of binary files, nothing should be running.
Maybe an environment set in same, as when we ran last the PFRD install, however.  There we / I had
run. / set_mid_clean after making sure the files property was oracle: oracle.

    Yes, VNC gui and
    / opt/Web/Install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd/Patchset/disk1
    . / runInstaller

Here again, we select Install Software - is not configured
RE: Get the message again on this screen "installs the software only. After said is finished, use
config.sh at ORACLE bin directory to configure the working bodies of these components installed.

Specify the installation location.  Always to
    Oracle Middleware homepage: / opt/oracle/Middleware
    and
An Oracle home directory: as_2 # I bet it must be as_1 because that is where the initial PFRD install binary files has occurred.

NOTE: The summary of the Installation in the video screen escape the Oracle Home is the previous specified during the initial installation. That is to say. PFRD_Binaries.   I guess I should have named that instead of taking the default as_1. At least I would have to have done that.  Well.  Maybe this story might help the next guy.

    Also

NOTE: The Installation screen is not "from" group of patches as in the video where it says
Install Oracle Portal, forms, reports, and discover the Group of hotfixes.

    Hi Charlie
I'm a little confused by this feedback. Especially when you say that you see the option "install - do not configure. Should this option is visible only when you run the Basic 11.1.1.2 PFRD the software installer. The Group of hotfixes 11.1.1.4 has his own 'runInstaller'... and this will display what you see in the viewlet. You definitely run the installer from the directory of stage in the Group of hotfixes? (I'll do my own validation test - if I find something strange going on... I'll report.)

I now take the following action

    1. I will put the Viewlet so it is clear that the Group of hotfixes is staged in a different place from the base 11.1.1.2 media
    2. provide that nothing must be running (because at this point, no instance of 11 g of construction has been configured)
    3. There's a "slippage" that illustrates the Middleware and Oracle Home entries in the screen "Location of Installation to specify" IE

    Middleware homepage: / u01/alca_portal/middleware
    Oracle home: PFRD_Binaries

However, you will see that this slide for 2 seconds (which is an error) and if you miss it probably.

Just FYI - the House of Oracle 11 g correction is in general the same procedure as patching a mid-layer House AS10g i.e

-You set the Oracle Home base using the installation of the basic software program
-You patch the Oracle home using the installation program of the Group of hotfixes
