  • Windows 8 crashes when running 'find the hardware changes' in the Device Manager, requiring forced stop

I just installed Windows 8 Pro on a system that were running Windows 7 without problem.  After completing a clean Windows 8 Pro Setup program, I went from hollow driver installation, but found the package to install for my card its caused Windows 8 Pro drivers to lock up and become completely numb.  I had to force a shutdown by pressing the button for 4 seconds.

Trying to solve the problem, I found that manually install the drivers through the device manager didn't cause any problems.  In addition, installation of the drivers available through Windows Update also worked without problem. However, these two methods fail to install parts of the pilot training included him.  Then I have to uninstall the device from the package of drivers again.  I uninstalled the sound card via Device Manager and selected "Delete the driver for this device."  When I followed this with a "Scan for hardware changes" again the list my sound card, I have found that Windows 8 Hung again.

After trying other options with no resolution, I tried to reinstall fresh Windows 8.   To exclude a possible problem with Windows 8, I opened Device Manager, as soon as I could after installing Windows and ran "find the hardware changes.  New Windows 8 freezes.  I can't place blame on post installation any software or driver.  This seems to be a problem with Windows 8 itself.

A final note, sometimes "find the hardware changes" will actually work, but most often it forces the system to hang.

Does anyone else have this problem?  Can anyone provide assistance? (chart below for comparison)

    Processor: Core i7 3770 k

    Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD80

    RAM: 16 GB

    Video: GeForce GTX 680

    Audio: Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D

HARD drive: 1 x Corsair Force SSD 3

    RAID: 3 x 1 TB RAID 5

It seems that I am victim of dynamic ticks.  Research on my question, I have found several discussions around the ' net for crashes/freezes random in Windows 8, but none of them appeared to agree to my problem.  However, they all had the same solutions.

Run the following command in a command prompt to disable the dynamic ticks.

    bcdedit/set disabledynamictick Yes

I thought that I have that would give a shot, and it worked.  I wrote this answer, I also found that there is a recent update of the BIOS for my motherboard which indicates "Support Windows8 feature."  With the new BIOS applied, I was able to turn dynamic ticks and have been broadcast since w/o freezes.  I also managed to install all my drivers.  Anyone else having this problem maybe try updating the motherboard BIOS, otherwise try the above command.

  • Second Hard Drive not recognized / climb (but it IS listed in the Device Manager)

I have a HP Compaq DC7800 convertible mini tower running than Win 7 Pro 64-bit

I installed a second hard drive, and while I can see listed in the Device Manager, it is not mounted.

That is to say, it is not in the computer > field at all.

The second hard drive is a Hitachi HDT721032SLA360 ATA Device

Under the hardware ID, it is said: IDE\DiskHitachi_HDT721032SLA360___ST2OA38E

I thought it was a driver problem. Device Manager indicates that it uses the Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385 driver.

I can't find a Hitachi driver for this player. My understanding was that this drive would NOT need drivers.

I have it in the plug of P5 (I think it is P5, it's at the end of the cable with the primary hard drive) and I have a data cable sata from the sata port on the rear of the disc in the slot sata on the motherboard next to the slot in the place where the main in drive is plugged.

The only sites that list the drivers for this drive are all spam (thanks, google) sites.

What I have to change something in my Bios?

    Thanks in advance.

If the drive is listed in the device but not 'computer' Manager, it must be mounted or a new volume must be created. Please see HP - partitioning and names of hard drives (Windows 7) for more information on using the Windows Disk Management Console.

    Hello

Sounds like hardware and you cannot resolve hardware with the software. Check with the system
Manufacturer of support, their books online, the diagnosis and ask in their forums (if
There are). Or check with a real computer store (one who does on its own in-store service
This brand and model of laptop).

Remember that you can not resolve hardware with the software.

    =====================================================

    Troubleshooting you can try:

Note the use of Win Key + X and Win Key + W (to go on the Control Panel, Run and parameters
According to needs). Win + D key calls the office and using Win Key active / disable the Office
    and the splash screen.

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

  • Qosmio F16 - 14Q - internet USB device showing! in the Device Manager

    Hello

"my USB device that connect to the internet does not and I wanted on this subject in the Device Manager, it appears under the drive of cd-rom and other two devices below the CD with"! "sign and then I removed the cd-rom drivers.

Can some give me a link to download the cd-rom driver and help make my USB device work?
On the drivers, I didn't know my kind of Qosmio in the driver list, he writes back the Qosmio F16 - 14Q.

    Please help me

I put t know what USB device do you use but if it doesn't work, you must have the driver for this device of some. Part material Toshiba doesn t support third so try please talk with your internet provider and ask for help.

Another thing: I put t know where you bought your Qosmio but I assume it has been offered to Pakistan. The right support page should be http://asia.toshiba.com/pakistan

As far as I know, optical drive uses the standard Microsoft driver so that you won't find a driver for the CD-rom drive.

  • Portege M700 - 3G does not work and has no entry in the Device Manager

    Hello

I've already found [this | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB0302TL0000R01.htm] for 3G installation, but it does not help me. In my device manager is no entry called 'Data Interface', and that's why the guide will not work. Under "modem" is only the "TOSHIBA Software Modem. The LED next to the orange wlan LED is off. When I use FN + F8, the I get only entries for Wlan and Bluetooth. In the Bios (or what ever Toshiba call a bios, 3 pages with very few options, very bad in my opinion) I couldn't find any option to turn on the 3g modem (I suspected that it be turned off in the Bios).

Is there an option where my 3G modem could be turned off, so that the device manager would be ' d recognize it? WIFI and BT operate correctly.

A new SIM card is correctly inserted in the SIM slot behind the battery. I can't find my problem described in the web or this support forum.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Satellite A105-s4064: where to find the Ethernet controller (LAN) driver?

Hello, I was recently forced to reformat my Satellite A105-s4064 due to some virus problems, and now when I look at my device manager my Ethernet controller is not installed.

I checked the main site and they don't have an Ethernet controller I've ever seen.
I can just be giving on it or research in the field of evil, but anyone know where I could find the Ethernet Controller driver for my laptop?

    Thank you
    Chris

First of all, it would be interesting to know which driver LAN do you need? XP or Vista

Second, the A105 laptop is an American series. I know that because of the last digit in the model number. 5 at the end means that it is a series that was designed for the American market and you need to find the drivers on the Web from Toshiba site we!

However, if I understand correctly, you have already activated the Device Manager and the network card is not in the network adapters. There is an unknown device. Am I wrong?

Often the LAN chip must come from Realtek. Then maybe you should try to download the driver directly from the Realtek page.

    Check it out

  • How to fix a sound problem - reading devices no. for the Device Manager on WinXP SP3?

    (1) I can't to Device Manager by following the guide for help on my system.  The steps do not match what is actually showing me my Windows and I can not here the only way I can get to it is to use a link on the help page directly.  Even when I do that, the steps in the help guide still do not match what I see on MY screen.  Is this perhaps an update of this Guide to match my system?

    (2) I need Device Manager to find out what happened on my Audio device.  I have no sound from my speakers.  It happened all of a sudden when my wife was using the computer.  I don't know what she can do both.

Start/Settings/Control Panel / sounds and Audio Devices Properties shows "No. Audio Device", hence "Volume of the device" is gray.  Audio tab displays 'No peripheral to read '.

The fastest way to bring up the Device Manager is:
    Start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc".
If it detects the sound equipment, but there is a problem with a driver, you will probably see a yellow "!" appears by your audio device.

If he was working and stopped, you can try to perform a "System Restore" to a point where it worked:

When I connect my mobile phone via Bluetooth for laptop (win 7 ultimate), my system shows the connection. Also, I see my mobile phone listed in the device window. Earlier, when I brought the computer laptop, everything seemed good, at this time, when I use it to open the device (IE to control ); a window would show the option for playing music (there was a lot of option as a 1 ' headset and speaker") and other services supported by the device. but now, suddenly somehow window appears but with in a 2 sec to disappear again. Whenever I try to open the device I get this error. I have laptop Lenovo, which has something like that for bluetooth

    Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 USB
