Why a recent update to all my music files?

I had a Windows Update on March 2, 2012. Subsequently, I found that 75% of my music files had been moved on my hard drive. The artist folders have been created that did not exist before and songs have been automatically moved into these folders.

I have manually organize files of music on my computer and don't appreciate not anyone else think that they know better how to organize my music than I.

How can I prevent updates to take control of my music files?

Hi ralpert,

·         Have updates you installed?

I suggest you perform a scan by using the Microsoft safety scanner.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Thank you for the question!

It is disheartening to know that have problems you with Windows Media Player. As I understand it, you are not able to remove Windows Media Player music files.

I need to ask you some questions to help you best.

    2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

This problem occurs if the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted. Try these steps and check the result.

Method 1: Clear the Windows Media Player database
has. click on Start > type run > click run > Type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Playerand then click OK.
    b. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    Hi grampsny!

I assume you want all your music stored in one place? The default value for this should be 'my music' (which is located in the folder 'My Documents').

1 if your music is broadcast all over the place so I guess the best way to find all these files is to click on Start then on Search

    2. now click on "all files and folders" in the left pane.

    3. in the box under "all or part of the file name" type *.mp3 and press the Search button.  If you acknowledge that all files that appear as your music files, then press and hold CTRL of your keyboard and then left click on each desired music file.

    4. now, with all of the selected files, click change and then click copy.

5 open the 'my music' folder, and then click Edit and Paste.

Now repeat steps 1-5 but instead of search search *.mp3, *.wma , (which is the default for Windows Media Player 11 music file).

I hope this helps, if so please mark as good answer :)

  • Media Player, I moved all the music files from drive C to drive D, both at the Court, due to the car being filled C... How direct the player to find the new path?

I have a laptop HP with two drives.  The C drive is intended to the BONE, with the D drive, intended to manage file storage.  I didn't know that the music files were originally instructions in the C drive, which is now virtually full.  I copied all the files of music, (both for drive D, but as a backup to external hard drive)... now, I need to know how to redirect the media player to be able to read the files from the disc... Please help me?

Open Media Player, click file on the Menu, click Open.

Using the folder display left side cover on your D drive, find your playlist or music file.

Click your playlist or music file, and then click Open.

  • After extraction of CD all the music files are renamed

    Original title: Rename music files

After the extraction of a cd of music on my computer, all tracks appear as "1'"track 2"etc., and the album is"unknown album ". I modified manually the album title and the titles of the tracks, but as soon as I RIP another cd, the album and titles I just renamed are once more are listed as '1' etc., and they are moved to the new folder of the CD-ROM. Y there a way I can rename them, and "lock" in place? Thank you.

    Method 2:

You can try to rebuild the media player library, and then try to extract again

This problem can occur if the media library is corrupt. Rebuild the library and check if this solves the problem.

Usually, also, had to stop the WMP network sharing Service before you rebuild the library. Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop . Tim Baets

  • How can I find all my music files and download them on different devices?

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: I get windows media player and don't see a few songs.  I want to see the entire library.

    Hi Flip38III,

What devices you use to synchronize the music files?

If you have saved music files in a folder, you can search the file by the name of the folder.

    Find a file or folder

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/find-a-file-or-folder

    Then proceed as follows:

    1. open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer.

    2. then connect the external device to the computer.

    3. scroll through the songs you want to transfer to the device. Right click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "send to." Scroll the options "send to" and select device.

If you can't see the music files in the Windows Media Player library you can erase the database of Windows Media Player and Windows Media Player cache of database files by following this link:

You cannot view, add, or delete items in the library of Windows Media Player 11

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925718

Then try to synchronize the music files on the external device.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • Why the most recent update put all my plug-ins to activate and deactivate an Adobe one?

Update of Firefox and none of my plugins worked up to that I went and changed ask to activate to always turn on. This plug-in NPAPI of Adobe Acrobat says it must be updated, but when I try it does not update. She finds the same need to screen update. There is a problem with your last update.

I tried to update the plug-in. I wouldn't. I solved the problem by uninstalling the new firefox and download an older version and make sure it has not installed the maintenance program. This prevents update. I even tried the firefox 31 beta and it put all plug-ins to ask to activate. Until you can solve this problem, I'll stay with the old version that works correctly.

  • Why don't I see all the music on my mac on my apple tv?

The only albums that appear on my apple tv are those purchased on iTunes, none of my old CDs are available that I have in my mac iTunes library is there a setting that would make available?

If you want to see in your music app, you will need to subscribe to Apple music or iTunes game before you're able to see them.

Alternatively, you can view all music in iTunes on your Mac without subscribing to what anyone using the application of computers and displaying via home sharing.

  • Why the recent updates to Windows are close my IBM ThinkPad without warning? Help, please!

Since I installed the latest Windows updates on my IBM ThinkPad (belongs to the office, one for me), the computers have decided to stop randomly without warning and without closing programs.  It happened first in the portable desktop computer and I tried a system restore, but it wouldn't.  Today, I installed on my computer but after I did a system restore.  I'll try that, but I guess that this will not help.  What can I do to get this to stop happening?   Is anyway to switch to Microsoft and tell them what is happening and have them repaired?

OK, removing the updates does not solve my problem, so reinstalled. I solved the breaks down by turning the bottom of my screen Hardware Acceleration 1 notch. Always try to understand the underlying cause.

    · Do you see what is happening with any multimedia file format?

After you synchronize files in the USB check if media files are present in the flash player.
