FixIt left all my music files Media Player for the C"" drive. How your choice?

The tool recommended FixIt reconfigured/updated to update my Windows Media Player and sent almost all my music files on drive "C" of their location in the multimedia player! How can I move the files BACK to the media player? He said that none of the files would be removed during the process, but he said he would completely screw up my music files and send them to another location!

  • When downloading music from Media Player on a USB key, how to get music aired in the order I put them on the list of synchronization?

I find that when I play the USB in my car stereo, all the parts play in the order in which I originally recorded my media player CD.  I drag synchronize them in the order that I want but they play seemingly at random, but I think it might be chronilogical order of their recording in Media Player.

    Hello Warner,

The best way I found to do this is to create folders on the USB drive and then use a different folder for each album of the music.
If you want music in a particular order, change the name of the file to include a 001 at the beginning, for example, 001 - songname.mp3 music
Do this for all the tracks in the order you want and software of the car detects the number and play music in that order.
    I hope this helps.

    3. find the file extension judging by your message is a .rar file types list and click to highlight.

    4. click on change program.

  • All my .exe files will open in the same program, how can I solve this problem?

I double clicked a .exe program and she appeared with an error saying that it was not a correct path, so I right click on it hung over 'Open with' clicked "choose program by default" found and selected it clicked OK, and I don't see the "Always" use the selected program to open this type of file until after I clicked OK , but now all my .exe programs open the same and the .exe .lnk changed, I was about to restore my computer to the previous version, but none of them go back far enough, what should I do to cancel the default program?

Darn, I was hoping that the registry itself would correct after a reboot. I always try to this for you. Following is a somewhat similar to what was posted by hetti:

However, this does not mean you're going to in the registry. You create a file that will do the registry work for you. According to this link, the fixittool only works for Vista.

  • How to transfer my music FROM Media Player to iTunes?

Hello, I have an iPhone and I want to use my iTunes.  When I used the easy transfer cable he put all my music in Media Player and iTunes not. I can't get Windows 7 to allow me to transfer my music and video from Media Player to iTunes.  How can I do this? And choose "Import a file" does not work.  Thank you!

Open iTunes, in the section of the library, click on music.

Open the folder where your music is stored, probably the standard place which is the library, my music.

Highlight all the music files that you want on your iPhone, just right-click on it, select copy, then back in iTunes, select Paste.  You can also drag and drop if you find that easier.

  • Windows Media Player will not play music files - need to reset the file path

I'm trying to access my music on an external drive (g) using windows media player. The player is looking for music in the E: drive, which is a separate external drive that my friend uses for its iTunes. How to reset the path to the file for windows media player? It gives me the possibility of rerouting individually paths files, but not a lot of re - routing. I have reset the default settings, reinstalled the drive external, even enabled/activated on WMP (of the Panel).

I tried. The drive G:\ was included in the WMP library before this problem (and to make sure, I deleted and added it). Despite this, the paths for each song pointed toward the drive E:\.  I solved the problem by deleting all of your WMP library (not files) and restart the media player. The files were then reread with the correct file paths.

  • How media player changes the music files (modo-live mesh)

Hi, seems that media player mark fall files in a folder such as "changed" when I change what should logically be the attributes of the filder (ie the year or kind..). While I understand why media Player that do, it creates a huge unnecessary traffic to live mesh (I'm trying to sync my music folder).

Furtehrmore, after you have synchronized with another computer, the other computer goes to the internet, detects updates and marks a great numer of files resulting in a huge amount of traffic to the original computer...

    Hello, jmdh

Please use the Forum for answers!

Tags for music files are stored in the file. When you change these Nokia is written and therefore actually changed. This happens with other software which publishes these tags as well and not specific to Windows Media Player.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Windows media player is the addition of my music, but not covered by the correct artist. How can I fix

There are also multiple registrations for the same songs, how can I fix?

What type of file in your music files (MP3, WMA, WAV...)?

You can correct information (for example, artist) in the library by double-clicking the info and selecting Edit.

Regarding duplicates, in WMP, please enable the column path, right click on a column heading (for example, title) and select choose columns.

So now you take two duplicate songs and compare their paths in the path column, are the same or different paths? If they are different, what are the exact paths?

Add items to the Windows Media Player library

You can use the Windows Media Player library to help you organize your entire collection of digital media on your computer, including music, videos and photos. Once you add files to your library, you can read the files, burn mix CD, create playlists, sync the files portable music and video players and share files with other devices on your home network. There are several methods that you can use to add files to your library:

    • Follow-up of the files. When you start the player for the first time, it automatically searches certain folders by default on your computer for the photo files, video and music and then adds these files to your library. If ever, you add or remove files from these folders, the Player automatically update the library accordingly. You can change the folders the Player monitors if you store some of your digital media files in a location that will not be detected automatically.

    • Add media files that you play. When you play a file on your computer or on the Internet, the Player automatically adds the file to your library if it isn't already in your library. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable storage media, a device removable storage, or on a shared network folder. For example, if you play a file that is stored on a CompactFlash card a data CD, or in a shared folder on another computer on your network, the player will not automatically add the file to your library.

    • Extract music from a CD. You can use the reader to extract the tracks of your audio CD. During extraction, the tracks are created as files on your computer.

    • Download music and videos from online stores. You can register with player online stores. Once you do, you can download music and video files from online stores.
