Why are there redundant for Microsoft Security Essentials download sites?

Original title: Microsoft Security Essentials:

At the insistence of some other people on this community, I decided to start another thread for this exact same topic:

Why are there redundant for Microsoft Security Essentials download sites? I went on the first site in my search on the web:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=520

It looks pretty official to me, however, there is only one problem with the above site. Download options are way too vague for us lay people. After publication on the website of MS Community, I was quickly corrected on my ad which does not seem to be an idle thread and offered a link to download the instructions and frequently asked questions that did not work. Much later, I was offered another site to download with different language options and a more detailed description of download:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Security-Essentials-all-versions

Well, I have to ask the same question again, but in a different way: why society billions of dollars allows this kind of nonsense (multiple and various download sites on the web) occur under their name? Excuse me if I look a little frustrated on this problem, but I am!

Here's what the site was used initially. I still don't know which version to download for use on this site. The only distinction: "amd64" or "x 86". I don't know looking below that mean both.

Version:
Date of publication:

4.4.0304.0

10/11/2013

Name of the file:
File size:

ENUS\amd64\MSEInstall.exe

13.0 MB

ENUS\x86\MSEInstall.exe

10.6 MB

Download sites are for companies and technicians who need to deploy these.  Basically, the people who understand and who need these details.

For consumers (users of this community site), the printable page is simply microsoft.com/security_essentials

Here, you can easily get the version you need.

I changed the custom source instead of Log view
I also changed the event ID includes / excludes to instead of a list of specific identification numbers.

  • Why are there no XP driver to the Download Center for Satellite A355D

I wanted to downgrade window vista 64 bit on a windows xp service pack 3... cause a lot of software I want might not be installed in this os... However, it is quite a disappointment for me discover that drivers that I need to do the new install is not found in the toshiba Download Center...

It's really frustrating... any suggestions as to why?...

hoping to get suggestions from you all... Thanks a bunch!

(Note: when I go to the toshiba Download Center only the bios is available for downloads... I use to own another brand and go to their Web site allows easy access to all drivers)

Perhaps I made a mistake here, because this is the first time for me to use a laptop toshiba brand... and do the tour of the Web site...

    Hello

    What is a mobile US?
If yes-> go on Toshiba U.S. driver page and search there.

If you will not find XP drivers these drivers are not being released at this time.
But I doubt that any of us would be able to say exactly why the drivers aren't on the page.

Perhaps you could contact the Toshiba in the United States and ask the responsible guy why XP drivers are not published? What do you think of this suggestion?

  • Update Microsoft Security Essentials KB2804527 fails. Ran the recommended "Fix it" and that failed.

In recent weeks, I had a rash of customers, who have all had problems with Microsoft Windows Update across different versions of Windows.

Currently, this client is running Windows XP with installed MSE.  Windows Update has the MSE KB2804527 update as an important update, but it fails.

I tried the recommendations I found in the community, and I tried to run the recommended tool 'Fix It' on it, all this without success.

I'll try to get a live chat support or phone support session goes with Microsoft, but am posting this to the community to be a 'good citizen', so to speak.  :)

Someone at - it solve this problem yet?  What is happening with MSE updates?  Why are they scrambling so frequently by various platforms? \

    Thank you, in advance.

  • Update (error code 80070103) Windows Update fails & Microsoft Security Essentials does not install (error code 0 x 80070643)

I keep trying to update and all these errors reappear. I can't install Microsoft Security Essentials and any update of Windows. I tried to do system Recoery by pressing F11 after reboot, and it does not work either.  I'm guessing that something might be wrong with the registry or there is a virus but I am not a computer wiz. I don't have the Vista recovery disc and the original disk to restart.  is it possible to fix this?

I paid to get it to format in November 2010... I installed a fake Windows Vista on it (32 bits but my PC on a 64-bit password) so I had to clean install it.

I don't understand: If you paid someone to format the HARD drive and do a clean Windows, when install I YOU "installed a 32-bit Vista?"

If your parent friend had lost the Windows CD comes with the brand new computer, the person you paid use to do the clean install of Vista 64-bit?

    I do not see KB948465 in installed updates, only KB956250 & KB256506

I asked only KB948465. In any case, KB256506 is not an update or a section of the play.

No, I never had any other than Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus

Again, I don't understand. If you have never had any other antivirus MSE and MSE has been installed since November 2010, why you try to 'install Microsoft Security Essentials' now?

Q: which, if any, of these updates ARE LISTED in updates installed (no update history)?
A: See the number 3, I don't see anything else apart from those two

What "number 3"? You see nothing else, in addition to the two updates to date?

I give up. I can't help you if you do not answer my specific questions in your very next answers!

I think you'd better take the computer back to the repair shop & pay to figure what's wrong (yet). Good luck.

    Hi Louise,.

This problem may occur if there is no third-party software installed on the computer or due to corrupted settings of Microsoft Security Essentials.
