  Please try these steps and let us know if the problem is resolved.

  Method 1:

  Step 1: Please boot your system to the boot and see if the problem still occurs in this mode. Try now to the KB article to perform the clean boot:

  Important: After you use the clean boot in order to solve your problem follow the steps in the "steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state" section to start your system in normal mode.

  Step 2: If the problem is resolved in clean boot mode, follow the steps mentioned below:

  Remove the program from the list of startup programs ToolbarUpdaterService.exe. To do this, follow the steps mentioned below:

  (a) start the System Configuration utility
  (b) click Start and run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
  (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears
  (d) select the Startup tab and look for Toolbarupdater in the list and uncheck the box.
  (e) click on apply and then OK.
  (f) restart the computer.

  When I left click on the back instead of the browser navigation back button, I go almost every time to get the list of previous browsing history or it will just doing nothing until I click on the new button. The history of combination of button "return" rather than a separate between the historical click of the buttons box is the problem. Combined with my arthritic fingers of aging that is. If I was as fast as I used to be I guess it wouldn't be a problem. I liked the separate history area. This action combination navigation / buttons story scenario is problematic. I'm fairly certain that if I find it quite disturbing to bring to your attention that there are others (old beards) in the same boat I am.

  I got the same error! When you are looking in Program Files ToolbarUpdaterService.exe. Not found!  But was curious to the toolbar of the StartNow folder?  So I open the folder and found a folder-Recources. and 4 Files: 1) StartNowToolbarUninstall.exe; (2) ToolbarUpdaterService.exe; (3) 32.dll toolbar; (4) c:\windows\uninstall.dat.

  I have not found any information relatiing to Google.  Knowing that ToolbarUpdaterService.exe was a hole black for my RAM I double click on the file "StartNowToolbarUninstall.exe".   My PC has not had a problem since!  Hope this helps your friend Alvin writer

  If you select the download updates but let me choose... option, no update will install without your approval. Suppose an update will require a reboot and does not approve the installation of an update until & unless you are ready to restart.

  You can change the AU for the "updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" setting. Once you have done this, you will need to approve the updates are downloaded, the updates are installed and where they are installed.

  I prefer "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" setting.

  Start button > in the search box, type options records > press the Enter key > click on view tab > under files and folders, uncheck "Always show icons, never thumbnails" > OK
