  Could you please let me know the version of Photoshop installed on your computer?

  Also you want to State as Photoshop not to do a quick selection?

  If so, then head over to the Photoshop preferences, then the performance tab and click on 'Big and flat', restart Photoshop and then use the selection tool.

  Thank you very much for your answers. As you suggest, I went to the help/updates and found that 3 points were scored update, Manager, 13 Photoshop and first elements 13 elements. On a hunch, instead uncheck one of them, I thought I'd see what would happen to let update all 3. It took a while, but, long story short, stopped the happy Vangogh and everything seems fine.   Again, your best option is to order a set of Acer recovery disks.

  If you insist on doing things the way hard, then check first that download, you have to SP2 (you don't need SP1a because it is part of the SP2) is correct - check the hash of the file downloaded against one published (where you downloaded of?)

  If the hash is correct and then try running SFC/scannow from a command prompt - it may work, depending on how the software manufacturer set up the drive, but it is preferable to use in conjunction with a good OS disc, rather than the recovery disk.

  Find the entry for the program, RTUadmin you try to install it and remove it.  You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.
