Why is there a red exclamation mark on some of my desktop files?

specifically adobe and Word files.

Hi Kelly,

Did you recently add or install or activate a new backup program or service to your system?

Do you use a service online, such as Mozy backup? If so, this icon could mark the files that have not yet been backed up.

Some programs from Symantec, such as System Center, mark the icons in this way.  I suspect that there are also others.

In some cases, there is a setting to turn off this option - but I don't know how because I have never used a backup program that did it.  If this is the case and you want to remove them, contact the seller.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
