Why move my icons on my desktop? Windows 7

My icons keep moving when I restart my computer running windows 7. He has never done this before. Recently, I had a Trojan virus on my computer. Twice I tried a system restore but it failed twice asking me to turn my anitivirus. It seems that I got rid of the virus but now everytime I restart my computer, my icons on the desktop reset and I have to move them back where I had them. I tried everything but download this thing, that I keep seeing that is supposed to prevent this. But he did it before, so why should I have to download something now? What is going on?

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, you are not able to drag icons on the desktop. I'll certainly try and help you in the matter of fixing.

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1. Since when are you facing the issue?

    2. you have any security program installed on the computer?

    3. what happens when you try to remove the icons?

    4. do you get an error message?

    5. are you aware of any changes made to the computer before the show?

Run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check for infections.

Note: there is a risk of data loss if all the files are infected and which can be removed in the cleaning process.

If the problem persists, start the computer in safe mode and perform a clean boot. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.

  • Why the Firefox icon on my desktop read1788 and not Mozilla?

Recently on my desktop, Mozilla icon has changed to playback of Mozilla to 1788 (the right writing under blue the symbol for Mozilla Firefox). Is that what Mozilla has done or is there a problem I have to solve and if so how to I solve this problem?

Also there is a free antivirus protection, which works with Mozilla?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me in this case.

No, the shortcut on the desktop has not been renamed. First of all, make sure it is really pointing to Firefox and nothing else:

1 right-click on the icon and choose Properties.

    2. in the Properties window, click the shortcut tab.

3 make sure that the target field says

    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

    4. If so, then click the general tab.

    5. in the top text box, enter the name you want for the shortcut.

    6. click the OK button when finished.

  • How to get an icon on the Desktop Web. I have windows 7 and 8 on different computers.

I asked this question repeatedly in stores and friends and tells me that it is possible by clicking on the web address, however, it would seem that Firefox does not happen because I was only able to do so far. I used to be able to do it on Xp but now find it impossible. I use this facility to allow me to access a web page immediately instead of having to go through the search or a bookmark. I'm having the same problem with windows 8 on a different machine.
    Any help would be appreciated.

There are several way to do.

    • 1 hold down the left mouse on the icon in the address bar, and then move the icon on your desktop and let go.
    • 2 deskCut {web link}

The situation is there are two files that make up the office.

One is your office users, and the other is Office public users.

When you sort by name, they are classified as two lists.

Some software during installation, installs for all users and put the shortcut in the Public Office.

The best way to accomplish what you want is to ensure that all the shortcuts are in one of the two folders.

Your office is located in C:\Users\*your username user name * \Desktop

The other is in the C:\Users\Public\Public Office, which is a hidden folder

  • the browser refresh icon on the desktop once per minute

A small question.  I am currently 'essay' Photoshop CC before taking a subscription.  Since the installation of the trial version my icons on the desktop (Windows 7) keep flashing/refresh once per minute.  All icons that is, except the icon creative cloud which is not updated (or blink).  Referring to the Windows Task Manager I notice it's explorer.exe that is currently running for a fraction of a second, once a minute, with 13% of CPU power just for that fraction of a second short.  While it's not perform the proper functioning of my computer, or all programs, it is quite disconcerting to have this "flashing" repeatedly happening all the time. It is something that was not happening before you download and install Photoshop CC.  Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be or what I can do to stop what is happening. I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker, but I would be much happier to take a full subscription if I could solve the problem.  (P.S. I've been a Photoshop user / reviewer / instructor since the 1990s)

I thank you in advance for any help or suggestion, you can offer.

    Kind regards

Is your desktop/Explorer flashes if you exit Creative Cloud and only run Photoshop?

  • Move the icons on the Windows 7 Desktop

When I used to move icons on the desktop in Windows XP, there is a picture of the shadow of the icon and title following my mouse pointer. This allowed me to know exactly where the icon would be when I released the mouse button. Now all I get in Windows 7 is the pointer of the mouse and a little black dotted rectangle attached to it that moves with him. The only time I see where the actual icon will meet is when I release the mouse button, and it seems to be unpredictable as to exactly where it is. Can someone tell me how to restore the previous behavior, where I can see a shadow of the icon to move with the mouse cursor?

  • Windows 7 - How can I get rid of an "All Control Panel items" icon on the desktop?

Only, I've migrated to Vista Ultimate x 64 to Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I used Laplink to move all my users, programs, and settings.  Everything is great, except now there is an icon on the desktop for all my users that I can't get rid of - it connects to the control panel and is called "All Control Panel items" - it cannot be deleted or moved to the Recycle Bin. Make a right click on it brings up a menu with 'open' and 'create a shortcut' by dragging it to the trash does not delete it.

If I am right cick on the desktop and add Control Panel to the items displayed on the desktop, a second control Panel icon appears with the same picture, but the text is just 'control panel '.

I don't know there is a registry key that I have to remove or adjust but after a lot of research can't find anything.

Open the Publisher of the registry (Regedit.exe) and navigate to:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace]

Backup the key by exporting to a REG file.

Expand the branch above and delete the following subkey:

    {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
(The above is the GUID for "All Control Panel items" Namespace)

Similarly, to remove the entry here (if found)

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace]
