Move the icons on the Windows 7 Desktop

When I used to move icons on the desktop in Windows XP, there is a picture of the shadow of the icon and title following my mouse pointer. This allowed me to know exactly where the icon would be when I released the mouse button. Now all I get in Windows 7 is the pointer of the mouse and a little black dotted rectangle attached to it that moves with him. The only time I see where the actual icon will meet is when I release the mouse button, and it seems to be unpredictable as to exactly where it is. Can someone tell me how to restore the previous behavior, where I can see a shadow of the icon to move with the mouse cursor?

You are using a classic "windows" theme

If so, try to change the theme. ( http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/280-theme-change-save.html )

How can I remove the shades of the Windows 7 Desktop icon? Whenever I place the cursor on one of the icons that square shadow appears behind her.

I tried just abut everything to stop these shadows to appear.

    Thank you

The solution to remove the shadows of the desktop icon is to show the performance Options screen and remove the control of the last listed issue "use Visual styles on windows and buttons" then click on apply and then OK. This will change the global settings for Custom.

However, there are some side effects of the use of this option that removes the shadows of the icon on the desktop. It changes your taskbar to style XP Taskbar and change also a custom icon, menus, and other advanced to default appearance settings. All the settings you have previously changed must be reaccomplished.

When you open Internet Explorer, it looks great in color etc that he did with XP which is now easier to read that Win 7, I feel. Each person will have to just play with the advanced appearance settings and select the ones they like best.

So far, I'm very happy with the settings I have now and also do not have the shadow of the icon on the desktop.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

When I "minimize", I see "stolen" to the left of the screen of the monitor.

  • Prevent expansion of window full screen on the Windows 7 Desktop?

    1. When I move a window to the left or right on the desktop, Windows 7, often it develops in full screen.  I find this very annoying.  How do I stop/disable Windows 7 to automatically expand the window?

    Hello

This function is called Aero Snap.

When you drag a window, you can break it down to the top of the screen to enlarge the window, or share and on the other, fill half of the screen of the window.

The action that "snaps" of the window and the edge of the screen when the mouse cursor reaches the last row of Pixels on the edge of the screen.

    You can disable this feature.

Open Control Panel / accessibility / make the mouse easier to use.

At the bottom of the window, place a check in the option prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen .

    Apply / OK.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Thanks for the update.

I'm really sorry to say this, but there is no option were you can resize your window (not resizable) at the top of the screen. You can move a resizable window to the right or the left by dragging the window to the left or right of your desktop.

There is another option were you can display multiple windows side by side as requires it.

    • Open all the windows and right click on the taskbar, select the option see the stacked windows or Show Windows side by side
