Why my drive C space decreasing 4 to 6 GB per day?

I check the free space on my C drive on a daily basis, and I noticed that the free space decreases every day 4 to 6 GB. I started with 829 free 931 GB and now I'm at 785 GB free of 931 today. Can anyone explain why and what I can do about it?

Hello

This free program allows you to see what is taking place.

http://www.Jam-software.com/treesize_free/

And the system restore will take up to 15% of the capacity of your hard disk by default.

931GBs x 15% is 139.65GBs.

In addition, you have the operating system, Service Packs, updates, Windows, your installed programs, etc., etc.

See you soon.

Did you recently do disk cleanup?

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76073-disk-cleanup.html

The tutorial is really made up of 2 parts:

From #1 to #11 on "ordinary" disk cleanup This will give you in disk space.
#12 at the end is on more Options. It is mainly to erase all of your points except the most recent restoration. This will give bring you a ton of disk space. There is a downside to this. You have more 'old' restore p [stated to fall back until several restore points are created. So make sure that your computer works correctly before you use more Options.

Another suggestion would be to install CCleaner.
It's a free program and it will help you to remove unnecessary files and recover disk space.
    I use it regularly.
Attention, do not touch the registry option.

  • My disk space decreases for no apparent reason!

I have a Gateway with Windows Vista laptop.  I tried to clean up disk space using disk cleanup, deletion of temp. files from the Internet and even delete programs and files I don't use.  For some reason, the amount of free space on my C drive keeps getting smaller and smaller!  Is it because I have a virus download programs and taking up space?  I'm not add additional programs or files.

For example, earlier today, I had 2 GB of free space left, and I noticed its been slowly decreasing.  I'm at 435 MB as I write this.

    Can someone help me?

    Hi John,.

The usual culprit is the system restore. Have you tried to disable the system restore to see if you have new space that you lost? See this link from my Web site: http://www.winuser.co.uk/windows_vista_faq/11_turn_off_system_restore.html

System Restore will have up to 15% of your disk space when creating restore points, so he can easily eat disk space on hard disks that are already full. By disabling the system restore can back space for you, once you re-enable the system restore then fresh restore points will be created (i per day) and the space will start to disappear again. Personally I disable restoring the system completely on my machine, but I don't have a regular regime of imagery of my hard drive using Acronis True Image (not free, unfortunately) just in case of problems

If you want just a report of chkdsk on your C partition select Start, run, type "cmd" without the quotes in the box and press ENTER. Type chkdsk, and then press the ENTER key and a report, stating, among other things, a summary of how disk space is used, is provided. If you want a report on a partition or one drive other than C, you need to go to this partition. To access F, where F is the required partition you type F: and press the ENTER key.

Copies of the reports from a command prompt can be tricky. Right click and select mark. This allows to highlight the selected text, and then click on copy. You will then open Word, Notepad or similar file, right click and paste. The selected text transfers your Clipboard to open the file. You can paste directly into a response message to the majority of the forums.

  • Why files of my photos decrease (10 MB + 1.5 MB or less) that I have Edit and export?

Why files of my photos decrease (10 MB + 1.5 MB or less) that I have Edit and export?

Yes!  I used your suggestions of 3000 x 5400 pixels in the settings and my Pelican cropped in J {for example is now more than 5 MB.  Phew!  I guess I really need to BONE up on top of megapixels and compared my new camera.

I have a 5 d Mark iii with two good glasses (zoom of Canon EF100-400 mm 1: 4) 5 - 5. 6 L IS II USM and Canon zoom EF 24-70 1: 2.8 L II USM).  Problem is that right after getting the camera, I had my first surgery of cataract and have not been able to read that much without a large magnifying glass.  My 2nd cataract surgery is in two days.  I want 'the blind Lady with the right camera' and have been relying on Auto Focus in just a few parameters. Hoping that my vision is coming SOON.

Thank you all very much!  If anyone knows where I can study and more re: pixel during export, I would be very grateful.

Once again, so happy.  Thank you!

  • Disk space decreases in VM

    Hello.

    I have a Win7 and XP - VM host.

When I copy and paste the form VM - XP to Win7-host decreases the space in my host and I have to manually clean the file c:\users\ < username > \AppData\Local\Temp\vmware-< username > \VMwareDnd .

But when I copy and paste from Win7-host of the virtual XP machine - VM disk space decreases too and I got a space error output.

What is the file that I have to clean in XP - VM?

    Thank you.

For Windows XP, you can copy and paste the %TEMP%\VMwareDnD into the Windows Explorer address bar and press ENTER.

    Or for example: C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Temp\VMwareDnD

Also make sure you have enough free space in the file systems operating system invited to copy the size of the files you are copying even after deletion of VMwareDnD which is supposed to automatically fade

Why I see a large increase in SPAM in the last days? The Apple Mail application had always done a better job by sending these things to the older junk - now, I receive a lot of junk in my Inbox.

Spammers find new ways to pass the time. Mark as not junk and see if the Mail finds new messages. If it appears undesirable filtering does not work, open the preferences of Mail to spam filtering and make sure this option is enabled. Is he is and it seems again that it does not work, you can reset the junk e-mail filter. Downside is that you will lose all that he learned in the past.

text-align: center; / * This centers the container in IE 5 * browsers. The text is then set left aligned by default in the #container selector * /.

/ * Tips for Elastic layouts

    1. Since the elastic layouts overall size is based on the user's default font size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those who need larger fonts given the length of the line remains proportionate.

    2. sizing of the divs in this provision are based on 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the overall size of the text by using a font size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the complete provision will reduce proportionally. You can increase the widths of the divs to compensate for this.

    3. If the sizing of fonts is changed in different quantities on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is a font size of 70% and #mainContent has a font size of 85%), this will change proportionally each of the overall size of divs. You can adjust the base on your final sizing of fonts.

A few things could be the cause.

The content inside your divs are all

    tags that have a default margin. Add h1 {margin: 0; padding: 0 ;} to your CSS that makes all instances of}

have a zero. I he would remove head tags surrounding the image because they are not required.

In addition, there is a typing error in one of your DIV tags

    should be
    .

Without margins can also be added to your rules of id in the CSS that should generally be practical, because it prevents browsers adding their own separation.

    It will be useful.
