  It has been at least partially fixed in LR 5.5, for images: Lightroom: the dates do not match for the missing files metadata date/time.  But I just tested import a .avi in LR 5.7 / Windows 8.1 and the date below the thumbnail in the grid has been the time of last modification of the file system, while the Date of Capture in the metadata Panel has been set at the time of importation.

  Try this. In Bridge, apply the declaration of copyright to an image and then import this image in Lightroom, ensure that no model of metadata is displayed in the import dialog box. Then save a new metadata preset, then you can apply it to other original.

  If the image is already in Lr, save metadata in the file, then go to the bridge and apply the copyright model and then use the metadata > read metadata. You can then create the preset metadata.

• I can't see all of the photos in the folder DCIM on my iphone 4 when it is connected to my PC.

  Here's what worked for me:

  If your screen is locked on the iPhone/iPad, and it has been locked so that you plugged into your computer, then the DCIM folder which usually contains all the pictures on your camera will be empty (security). Unlock and plug it back to USB.

  Switch to the version of the photo library on your internal drive.
