• Why not show 16-bit application icons upward from Windows Vista?

  Here's something that was so irritating since Windows Vista. I never solved the problem, but had to use a workaround by extracting a program's icon while running the extraction Windows XP programs, then using that ico file in any shortcuts to different 16-bit programs. In other cases, I use the icon found within a 32-bit program.

  Nothing seems to work when you create a link to the old DOS programs for DOS programs.

  Many of these programs, I always use cannot be replaced and will be replaced for various reasons.

  The problem is, whenever I try to create shortcuts to programs BACK, try to use icons in MORICONS. DLL does not work as it did in Windows XP. A similar problem occurs when you create shortcuts to 16-bit programs.

  In other situations, create shortcuts to files allows to change icons, but the second that the shortcut is pointing to a program icon disappears and I get the default icon of the "white paper" on my desktop and it cannot be changed.

  I thought what to do my usual solution, although it is an inconvenience, would suffice but also extract icons from 16-bit programs does not seem to work as expected in Windows 7 or in Windows Vista. The flavours of Windows and a number of programs that can be used to extract the icons give the error "the file contains no icons" when I know for a fact that the 16-bit Windows exe files contain actually icons! Windows Vista or Windows 7 can 'see' them.

  Anyone experienced this and have a solution to this problem in the long term?

  supported and the 16-bit icons has been removed in Windows 7. I can't work around the problem, you need to create your own icon as suggested in this post on TechNet.

  2. choose Customize.

  3. choose screen lock > lock screen apps.

  I imported a file of about 170 photos in lightroom using the same process I used for a month.  the files are a combination of canon .cr2 files and corresponding .jpg files that go with the .cr2s.

  After the import is complete lightroom showed zero pictures in this folder.  I immediately took panic and double checked that all files really did not exist in the folder via windows Explorer.

  However, if I go back and try to re-importation of the import function files shows all files as having been previously imported.

  I tried the process "synchronize the folder" and it shows first as '170' files to import, but after the full synchronization function it shows 0 files processed.

  Any ideas why lightroom refuses to show this particular group of files?

  I suspect it's something either really easy or the library on my system is messed up because of corruption.

  If the library is messed up how can I do to rebuild.  These photos are critical for me because they are shooting at the head of an actress.

  Here is my proposal... you imported photos with the copy option, and if your Windows Explorer thinks that they are in the Outbox folder (so you think), and Lightroom they think in case Z, where the photos have been copied.

  So... in Lightroom, if you si vous pouvez pouvez go to catalog the left panel, click on all photos, find one of these photos of 170 critical and do a right click on it then go to the folder in the library. This will tell you where Lightroom think that pictures are found. From there, you can work with photos, or update their folder location A (where you think they should be). If it works and that's what you want, writing back and we will advice you and others.

  Thanks for your questions, but I solved this problem. It turns out that the devices on the network of comments, I couldn't find was missing because they spend in standby mode when not actively discussed. IT year 'unusual' design achievable but now I understand what devices (controllers for irrigation). I knew I was on the edge with some of these for my home automation devices, but some are farther out than others!

  C tries to open a file on the server and it has the change permission on the file and the file, however, the file is locked for editing by 'administrator '. For the moment, no one opens this file, so which is 'Administrator'?

  More tests:

  (1) once A open file C is reached, there is message: file is locked for editing by 'Client', so why shows 'Client' instead of a correct domain account?

  (2) after C opens the file and then A is reached, there is message: file is locked for a domain C user account. So it seems OK.

  I use IE 7 on windows Vista Home Basic using a Dell Vostro laptop. I have my regional settings & language format US I tried to look by adding the French language as a secondary parameter but I found nothing on Microsoft Help pages.
  French accented characters do not properly show in the list of favorites. However web pages show that the accents are fine. An example is the following site: http://actu.voila.fr/. Said IE Favorites: Voila > the news > when to say: that's news. Another example is the site: http://www.consulfrance-chicago.org/. Said IE Favorites: Consulate General General General of France in Chicago, instead of: General Consulate of France in Chicago. It never happened on any other pc that I've used.

  xcab, when you save a new bookmark that is french, the characters appear actually right? Maybe it's an incompatibility with the import.

  next to the test is to ensure that you have french set up as a language for non-unicode programs. I don't know if it will matter but give it a try.
  Click Start-> Control Panel-> regional and Language Options, click on the administration tab, and then click settings to change system locale. Confirm, select french, click ok. Restart if necessary. Try again.

  iCloud library does not work with iPhoto. It syncs photos of Yosemite OS X 10.10.3 or later version.

  Since the new iTunes when I plug my iPhone 6 (latest version of IOS) none of my apps in the right column show.  There is a small wheel that starts spinning but my 149 apps will not be displayed. The left side with all applications is perfectly.  This means that I can't move the autour apps because they will not be displayed - what am I missing or what could be the cause and how to fix this?  I can sync to my iPhone without problems of ants or errors.

  This seems to be a problem for some users. What is solved for me (finally) was re-launch of iTunes and reset the iPhone (including while it was connected via USB to the computer).

  To reset hold down the buttons Home and Power until you see the Apple logo (15 to 20 seconds).

  Also note that you can move icons app directly on the device. Top and hold the button until the icon wiggles, and then drag it to its new location.

  In addition to Jeeped view, open Windows Explorer, click on the organize button and select folder and Search Options. Select View Tab , and make sure that the always show icons, never thumbnails is not selected.

  I realized my mistake.

  When I downloaded the drivers of Lenovo, I saw that they were .exe files and assumed that their execution would be * install * drivers.  It turns out that run these just .exe files * excerpts * drivers.  Research in the subdirectories where they are extracted, I found setup.exe or similar files.  Operation these actually installs the drivers.

  Ridicule me.
