Why the add-on Manager creates a new tab whenever I go to the home page?

When I run Firefox my homepage tab appears with a tab of the Add-ons Manager and a plus sign for the new tab. Whenever I go on a website and then back to my homepage comes ANOTHER tab Add-ons Manager. This apparently will last forever. I got 20 tabs Manager modules showing. The only way to eliminate them is to stop Firefox and restart. Then it starts again. What is the cause?

I use the latest version of Firefox and 8.1 of Windows on a Dell Inspiron with 8 GB of memory and a hard drive of 1 t.

Help, please.

You can have the Addons tab set as one of your landing pages.

Try to set your homepage again.

  • 41 of Firefox. Stop posting the story on the new tab. I want the new tab to display Google as my home page. In this way, and something changed.

I'm on firefox 41. When I select a new tab, I get displayed story. This has changed today. I don't know what I changed to create this problem. He has always displayed Google as my homepage with no history and no new proposed apps. How can I get that back to this point. Firefox deleting then reinstalling would resolve the issue.

Hi, 41 of Firefox, you must use an add-on like tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the page tab.

Once installed, open the Add-ons (Ctrl + Shift + A) Manager > Extensions, and then look for the new tab override and click Options to set your preference.

Note, if you want only the new tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the Add on new tab homepage instead.

You will then need to restart Firefox for all changes to take effect.

    3. In the filter field, type Startup

  • How can I set tabs to create a new tab whenever I click a link?

I want to put the navigation tabs so that whenever I click on a link, it will open in a new tab adjacent to the existing tab.

Middle-click or CTRL + left - click on a link or bookmark to open it in a new tab (click Middle = press the scroll of the mouse wheel). You can also right click on a link or a bookmark and choose "Open in New Tab".

To open new tabs next to the currently selected tab, you must set/check a hidden preference:

    • Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press the Enter key.
    • If you see warning, accept it (promise to be careful).
    • Filter = browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent
    • Look at the column 'Value' (false= open to end, true= open after the current tab). Value = true is the default value.
    • Double-click this preference to switch the value from true to false and false to true
    • Restart Firefox (file > restart Firefox)

    Welcome to our community, apollo321

What offered Colum is certainly valid. However, based on your screenshot it seems you are maybe by clicking on the home and be puzzled as to why the home page cannot be displayed. If this is the case, you must configure the point home to display the desired page.

In RoboHelp 6 accomplish you it as follows:
    Expand the Windows username folder
Double-click the CHM window and you should see the properties of the window
Click on the Advanced... button properties
Fill in the field titled "Home".
    Recompile the project

Note that you can really put anything on the ground. You can insert a web address like http://www.google.com , or you can point to a topic in your help system. If you want this area to open your default topic, you must type the path and the name of the default theme.

    Hope this helps... Rick

  • Double click on the arrow to the left on the tab bar creates a new tab at the end of the right hand.

With Firefox 29.0.1 by double clicking on the arrows on the right in the tab bar or the left creates a new tab at the end of the right hand of the tab bar. It is embarrassing behavior that violates standards around UI design click and double-click. A double-click should extend the behavior of the single click rather than do something completely different (opening a new tab). An example would be, in a Word, a single click selects a Word, double click selects the sentence and a triple click selects the paragraph. Note that this is a separate issue from double click the tab bar itself to create a new tab.

When there are more tabs on the tabs in the window toolbar, that highlight the tabs on the side will not hold show tab in use. I can click on the left and right arrows at the end of the tab bar to scroll the bar in this sense to bring a tab I want to select in the display. I believe that the double click on the arrow to the left would scroll the bar completely to the right, exposing the tab on the left Double click on the right arrow would scroll the bar left entirely exposing the rightmost tab.

It is a logical extension and expected behavior of single click. Single click - scroll once (seems to be the value of the tab in three), double-click on - scroll all the way.

For now, if I want to access the tab on the left, I have to click the arrow slowly and carefully until I get to it. I used only one quick click on the arrow to the left until that shponkah stop scrolling without having to count how many clicks. It is possible that my simple quick clicks were actually double-click. However, the bar tabs would stop scrolling when it reaches the end.

Now, the behavior is really annoying and unexpected. Double click on left dead entirely right tabs completely left arrow and creates a new tab at the end of the right hand. Ditto the arrow right in the opposite direction.

While I can (maybe) see that the value of a double click on the tab bar itself to create a new tab, double click on one of the scroll arrows should show a new tab.

Double click on the arrows of the tab should scroll the tab fully for this purpose bar. If the tab bar is already entirely Scrolls towards ending extra clicks (single, double and triple...) should be ignored.

I like the idea of opening a new tab to the right of the one that has the focus. This should be an option of the contextual right click menu.

That should not occur if you click the scroll buttons in the tab bar.
A double-click should act as page up/down and move a full screen and a triple click should move to the left (first tab) or the right (last) until now tab.

  • I can create, be able to update a list on one page and have a smaller list in the home page stream

Sorry, if it does not make sense. I am very new to Web design. But I work with a church that hates most of their Web site, but like the ability to post events on the event page and a list of the updates of the events on the home page. When you click the event it takes you to the events page or another website dedicated to this event.

    The site I'm referencing: www.gapgen.org

As well as when their post podcasts. When they download it from the page admin page "sermons" a list updated on the home page.

Is this possible? Or is it going to take some serious and complicated coding?

  • Mail carrier arrives in a new tab instead of the home page

Recently I met a change when I open a new tab. Instead of the home page (as was the case previously) I get my carrier of electronic mail (e-mail) white page with an illustrated history of the last visited web sites. The statement tab in Windows should open new tabs with the home page and there is no problem that when you use Internet Explorer. Comments section Mozilla says to click on an icon of gear in the top right of the screen. There's no icon on my screen. How can I fix it? Thank you.

By the way... in case you meant a separate new window (Ctrl + n) instead of a new tab in the same window (Ctrl + t), which should follow the setting of your home page. No need to go in: config for this. See:

Add-ons can also override this setting, then see my comments on this in the previous answer if Firefox is ignorant of your homepage when you open a new window.
