Why would be necessary to add or configure a domain?

When you install an instance or an Oracle database, you are able to assign a domain name. Example:

SID: orcl

Domain: monde.com

Service: orcl.world.com

Why would be necessary to add or configure a domain

In the past, I used it for 2 logically identical bases, with the same name. The only thing you had to do was to change the names.default_domain in sqlnet.ora and hey, you have been connected to the database 6000 miles.

Usually for the company with offices and multiple installations of a database environments.

  • Why would you add paths to a jpeg file?

    Hello world!

I use Ps and for a few years now as a hobby so I'm a bit able to find my way around it.

    Now for the question:

Why would you add paths to a jpeg file?

In addition why divide it into several paths? I have a vague memory of beeing paths able to for example make a transparent background in IE illustrator. Is it possible it?

My reason for asking is that I work as a Digitalprinter operator and we have a client who wants that hide us objects in the images and also in som cases separated by paths.

I reduced the example we obtained the client and added a link below hopfully someone can open it in Ps and explain why you would do that.

    Dropbox - paths

    Thank you for your time.

Looks like that have already made separate paths each object by its color, shape, set highlight and shadow and maybe even the (rather difficult to say) basic coverage

So, in this example, I would say it would create selections for separation into layers.

Technically Yes in this case it would save space on disk and bandwidth on the net. But, it's still a jpg file and whenever it gets published, it loses data. My recommendation when you receive a picture like this, is so quickly save it in psd or tiff and use these paths to separate the parts of the image in layers to make it as easy on yourself as possible. Do your work on the psd or tiff image.

  • Menu context (right click), why one dosent thinapp application add a feature to it?

Hi all, I have to mention that many applications adds certain features to context menu (I mean when you right click your mouse), why one dosent thinapped application adds the context menu the application robot TEMPORARILY?

Please if this feature can be added to the thinapp application future because I think that this is necessary, thanks to you all and your comments are welcome too.

    Hello

    I'll add a little technical add-on:

ContextMenu is items that provide options available depending on the situation (selected text is different from the 'normal' text), location (in plain text, a table or a hyperlink) and the features supported (Word has a more extensive option set that Notepad).

Context menus referenced to in this forum generally apply to Windows Explorer. You open a folder and right-click on the PDF file and want to have your features offered by Acrobat or any other tool. Now comes the idea: How does your system know about acrobat.

Generally, the application is installed, and references are added to the system. To do this have keys added registry (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\pdf) or DLLS which are registered with Solution Explorer. In the distribution of ThinApp application however this is not the case. Yes, the references are made, but as native Explorer has no access to information (files/settings/registry) in the package to the full integration option does not work, even after a thinreg.

To enable all of the features, the application (Explorer) should be started via the level of virtualization. However, there are 2 problems:

#1: you don't want to load all applications as extensions because it would allows you to link (read: applink) all applications you want context menu link to. This will add a major performance hit, mainly the speed of loading of the application.

#2: Windows allows 'not' have several versions of the Solution Explorer, as a native browser will always lead to other Aboriginal explorers. And the office is your first instance of Explorer! You would by default Explorer to be one who has all the features (contextual menus =). If you want, you will need to replace the Manager of the shell (office, registry entry) by reference to an Explorer.exe thinapped with applinked applications, you want to integrate.

The disadvantages are worse than the benefit you earn.

As an alternative, you can check what are actually used context menu additions. Some are just (already possible using thinreg) registry patches, and maybe some can be achieved by the publication of minor elements (a dll) with the native system. One option could be to have a mini-Setup started on the native system providing the desired functionality (and from the packed app if necessary). You might need some manufacturers of software managers/developers / application...

And sometimes it's just not possible...

    Kind regards

  • When a computer XP starts, the following errors occur. Can't find Mac addresses, can't find DHCP at startup. PC is not connected to a network. Why would it gives this error at startup.

When a computer XP starts, the following errors occur. Can't find Mac addresses, can't find DHCP at startup. PC is not connected to a network.

Why would it gives this error at startup?

It is not a Windows problem, it happens very early in the boot process until Windows is still a part of the image.  Your computer is configured for a remote network via PXE boot and there is no this PXE server so that you get this error message.  With PXE network boot, you can start a computer without him having a hard drive, the operating system resides on another machine on the network.  When the BIOS does not find the PXE server it gives you the error message, and then it proceeds to the next start equipment, which is probably your local hard drive.  Go into the BIOS and disable the PXE boot option or move it to the bottom of the boot order so that the hard drive is set as the primary boot device.

  • Cannot add a Configuration tab

    Hello world

I develop a plugin vCO using Eclipse and SDK vCO. I use the official documentation, which is based on the example plugin SolarSystem. I have a problem when I try to add a Configuration tab: when I try to access my plugin configuration page.

I get an HTTP 404 error with this message: "there is no Action mapped to name /config_general and the action of the default namespace." It seems that it is a problem with Apache Struts, but I do not know what exactly. I take a look again and again to the official documentation, it seems that I have did nothing wrong...

FIY, I use the struts.xml and the Web.XML of the plugin SolarSystem.

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Hi jybeip,

I highly recommend you to invest your time on activation of the simple configuration of your plug-in through workflows vCO instead of create a web Interface for the application of the configurator.

    The reasons are essentially:

    • The Configurator application reached its end of life...
    • Implementation of the configuration of a plug-in through workflow is easier at development time: no Struts!
    • With setting up a plug-in through workflow is more flexible: configuration workflows can be invoked like any other workflow, with all the benefits that this has.
    • All the vCO core plug-ins go in that direction and you can see that most of them have a folder of Configuration inside their out of the box workflow library.

    I hope it helps.
