Menu context (right click), why one dosent thinapp application add a feature to it?

Hi all, I have to mention that many applications adds certain features to context menu (I mean when you right click your mouse), why one dosent thinapped application adds the context menu the application robot TEMPORARILY?

Please if this feature can be added to the thinapp application future because I think that this is necessary, thanks to you all and your comments are welcome too.

Hello

I'll add a little technical add-on:

ContextMenu is items that provide options available depending on the situation (selected text is different from the 'normal' text), location (in plain text, a table or a hyperlink) and the features supported (Word has a more extensive option set that Notepad).

Context menus referenced to in this forum generally apply to Windows Explorer. You open a folder and right-click on the PDF file and want to have your features offered by Acrobat or any other tool. Now comes the idea: How does your system know about acrobat.

Generally, the application is installed, and references are added to the system. To do this have keys added registry (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\pdf) or DLLS which are registered with Solution Explorer. In the distribution of ThinApp application however this is not the case. Yes, the references are made, but as native Explorer has no access to information (files/settings/registry) in the package to the full integration option does not work, even after a thinreg.

To enable all of the features, the application (Explorer) should be started via the level of virtualization. However, there are 2 problems:

#1: you don't want to load all applications as extensions because it would allows you to link (read: applink) all applications you want context menu link to. This will add a major performance hit, mainly the speed of loading of the application.

#2: Windows allows 'not' have several versions of the Solution Explorer, as a native browser will always lead to other Aboriginal explorers. And the office is your first instance of Explorer! You would by default Explorer to be one who has all the features (contextual menus =). If you want, you will need to replace the Manager of the shell (office, registry entry) by reference to an Explorer.exe thinapped with applinked applications, you want to integrate.

The disadvantages are worse than the benefit you earn.

As an alternative, you can check what are actually used context menu additions. Some are just (already possible using thinreg) registry patches, and maybe some can be achieved by the publication of minor elements (a dll) with the native system. One option could be to have a mini-Setup started on the native system providing the desired functionality (and from the packed app if necessary). You might need some manufacturers of software managers/developers / application...

And sometimes it's just not possible...

Kind regards

  • Left SHIFT key of the T40 reveals context/right click menu?

    Hello all-

On my T40, on which I recently got properly installed, Windows 7 has a curious behavior:

When I press the left SHIFT key, it works the same as if I had pressed the right button of the mouse.  It works otherwise, I.e., then its use to capitolize a letter in an e-mail, the letter is capitolized, but as soon as I let go of the SHIFT key, the context right click menu will then appear.

It's extremely annoying, because I can't continue typing until I sailed out of the menu.

I checked to see if the keyboard customiser utility is the cause, I have currently my left Alt key works as a button of Windows, but it does not ask this question.

Anyone have an idea how I could go about fixing of this?

    Thanks in advance,

When an application MS Office shortcut menu right click does not work; the material of Mouse & touchpad work. Hello

A defective Explorer shell extension in the right click menu seems to be the problem. It could also be linked to the third-party software.

Follow the method 1 and method 2 to resolve this problem.

    Method 1:

To check if the problem is caused by a third-party application, put your system at startup boot and see if right click works fine then.

See this article for more details.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Method 2:

To see if the Explorer shell extension is corrupted or not, open the registry editor and save the selected branch, remove managers of context menus one by one.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

Open the registry editor and save the branch selected, delete management context menus one by one.

    To access the Registry Editor:

    (a) go to start and type regedit.exe.

    (b) managers of context menus are located in

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\shellex\ contextmenuhandlers]

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\contextmenuhandlers]

    ·        [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\contextmenuhandlers]

    (c) select 'Register' - 'Export register', so you can restore your changes later. Choose to export only the selected branch.

    (d) now remove a context menu Manager after another, and then every time try (Windows Explorer) if right click works again. In this way, you should find the faulty extension.

    (e) when you've found, you must double-click on the .reg created above to restore all shell extensions and then only delete the faulty extension.

Also check the properties of sensitivity of touchpad and mouse under the controls of the mouse.

  • Firefox displays all possible options in the menu contextual (right-click)

    Hello
A few hours previously, firefox itself has upgrade the new version, 20.0.
After the reboot, it seems that everything works fine. But when I right click to display the context menu (and copy the location of the image), I saw a long list with options like 'Pause', 'Play', 'Mute' and so on.

    Here is a picture:
    http://2imgs.com/2I/i/515c6224/79903d27bae38742936c6eea68084f43/d1af1c36e5.f.PNG

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Hello!

If you want to delete the current version, you need to remove the touchpad driver. The utility of enabling/disabling the touchpad control FN + F9 key combination to disable or enable the touchpad, but I think the name says it all ;)
In any case, try installing a newer driver and see what happens!

Almost every time that I do a right-click to display a menu of something for example delete or copy, you receive the following error message.

How to boot in Safe Mode and Clean worked for you?  Not at all useful?

You said about this 2 weeks ago?

Yet once, I fell in this place and the time and effort wasted because MS Answers forums invite to no system information when a new question is asked - but I digress.

Update of security 908513 is included in Service Pack 3 update.

Since forums MS Answers asks you any information from system when a new question is asked, we don't even know what Service Pack you have.  If you have SP3, you already have the update.  Two weeks and we don't know what is your Service Pack, what is your antivirus/antimalware environment...  We know that you have XP Pro 32-bit however.

What you're likely to have is an extension of the Explorer Shell with a malfunction, and you can usually understand as follows:

When the Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) is wrong (especially when right click), begin to suspect third-party add-ons explore extension.

Those who would be the Explorer extensions that do not belong to Microsoft.  This means that extensions that you have added.  Solution Explorer extensions are generally well and installation of certain applications will install extensions from Explorer solutions for you, give you a choice and sometimes they can be added without your knowledge when you install the new software.

Solution Explorer extensions are sometimes added as a new right-click option, you see on folders and files (like the scan of this file, open that file, play this song).

If there is something in particular that you do during exploration that you know will be the cause of the problem, which will help focus on the problem and the help that you suddenly know, when you have found and corrected.  If you can get there when you want it, make an adjustment and then there is no message the next time you don't do anything, you do, you have found and corrected.

If you can really achieve almost everytime you do a right-click and choose something like delete or copy, you're well on your way to understand.

First of all you need a way to see what modules explore you have installed now and a way to turn them off (not uninstall them) so you can understand that we are at the origin of the problem.  You can have a lot of extensions not installed Microsoft don't even know you about.

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After launching ShellExView, under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move the column Microsoft closer to the top, so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the column header for Microsoft sort display (by clicking on the column of Microsoft) then all the non Microsoft extensions are on top and easy to see.

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success about the errors with the extension and to what other people have done on it... Maybe just to get an update of the program that adds the suspicious extension.

    You can Google something like:

    Explorer XP crashing

(you must complete your suspect on behalf of add on)

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

I'm not a defender of trial and error, but I can't think of another way to do...

Right click and disable the extensions one at a time non-Microsoft keep a list so you can enable them again later if you wish. The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.

If you recognize all the extensions that have been added or recently downloaded, start with these first.

Disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled.

Disable them one at a time until your right click on do not generate an error, then restart and test again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.

You can also just disable all non-Microsoft extensions, restart and allow them one at a time until you find the one that generates the condition.

The hope is that you will find an extension that caused the error, and then you can figure out what on this subject - either uninstall it or see if you can get an update of the author of the extension of their web page.

I have not your problem, but I can when you toggle extensions, the extension is immediately turned off, to disable an extension does not require a restart, but if you find the problem, I reboot and retest in all cases to be sure that the problem has disappeared.

If you post your non-Microsoft extensions list, maybe someone will recognize it as a potential problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.

  • Is there a way to bring back the "Open a new tab" option by right clicking on the tab?

I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox (6.0). Yesterday he informed that an upgrade to Firefox 5. (something) was available and asked if I wanted to spend. I went for it. However, I had not used since then until today. Now when I opened it today it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to version 6.0. Without hesitation, I went for him also.

Although this version is pretty, it's a little weird to use. Previously, whenever I tried to open a new tab, I right click on one of the tabs (current tab or another tab) and after a right-click, he had the opportunity to open a new tab , as well as a few other options. Now there is no option. There is the button to open a new tab, but what happens if I want to open a link in a new tab by clicking right on it? Even the option to open in a new window is also absent.

Is there a way to bring back these settings/options previous tab? If so, how?

PS in my bookmarks bar, when I click on a bookmark icon, it has the same options/settings as he had previously in the last version I used (last version I used was 3.something; while I had updated to version 5 something I had not used except to open the browser when it asked me to upgrade to version 6.0). Options on the right by clicking the bookmark icon are:
    Open
    New bookmark...
    New folder...
    New separator
    Cup
    Copy
    Dough
    Delete
    Properties

I would also like to mention here that I know shortcut keys; so please don't waste your time trying to help me in this way. Thank you.

    # The tab bar is a regular toolbar in recent versions of Firefox, so you get the normal of a toolbar context menu if you right-click the tab bar.

You can double-click an empty space on the tab bar to open a new tab if you do not want to use the new tab button.

You can drag a link on the new tab button to open this link in a new tab.

You can also drag the new button tab on another toolbar, if you'd better like that.

Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize" or "Firefox > Options > toolbars."
