Width of the column label on css bar graph plugin

Hi all

Relatively new to the APEX.  Using the version 4.2.4.  I copied the CSS bar graph plugin which is used in the Bug Tracker demo app in my application and who uses it.  I'm very happy with the results except for one thing - the column label.  The label is truncated.  Is there a way to adjust the width of the column label in the table so that truncation does not or dressing it?  Please see screenshot.  Thank you in advance.

Add the following CSS to replace the rule of the Inline CSS property page to extend the space allowed for labels:

div.cbc table.cbc th span.cbc_label {
  max-width: 220px !important; /* Adjust dimension as required */
}

Please see screenshot.

Note that reproduce the problem with an example on apex.oracle.com that can be seen in its entirety and experience is a much better way to obtain help with Visual formatting and layout problems displaying a static screen shot.

  • Increase the width of the column interactive report filter

    Hello

    When you click on a column on an IR header, a filter in the form of a widow of pop - up appears, which has the list of values. I have an IR column where the values are long, such that they do not fit in the filter area. As there is no horizontal scroll bar, so the value is truncated.

    Is it possible to increase the width of the column filters say 3 inches for one or all columns, or even display a horizontal scroll bar so that the values do not get truncated?

  • How can I keep the width of the columns (1) and (2) a header when you replace a table?

    I am trying to format a series of paintings using simple Excel files and two columns that look like this:

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.04.36 PM.png

    I have already created a table style, but I find myself relating to two additional steps each time I replace the existing data with a new Excel file:

    Challenge #1: Manually set the width of each column to 3 inches.

    Challenge #2: Manually convert the top row a header.

    Each of these tasks only takes a few seconds to set up, but I'll have to make hundreds of them and the time adds up. Here's my existing workflow:

    1. Select the existing table, properly formatted.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.09.59 PM.png

    2 file > Place... (Replace the item selected and The show Import Options checked)

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.10.44 PM.png

    3. import in an unformatted Table using the custom Table Style 1 created for this document.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.08.54 PM.png

    Note: Once fell, the width of the previous columns is lost and there is no identified header:

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.08.06 PM.png

    4. I manually adjust the width of the columns to 3 inches.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.08.23 PM.png

    5. Finally, I converted the top row a header.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-07 at 4.08.34 PM.png

    Result is a perfectly formatted table, exactly 6 inches wide, each column taking up half the width.

    Ideas to keep the width of column after replacing the Excel file and/or fit automatically in the top row, as a header would be greatly appreciated!

    Something like this should do the trick. Copy the script in a text editor, save with the extension .jsx and put in your folder of InDesign scripting. If you do this a lot, it would be useful to assign a shortcut to the script key.

    To use, place your cursor in a table cell, or select a cell or a line and run the script.

  • width of the column of xml to framemaker attribute table

    I'm trying to set the width of the columns in a table in framemaker by importing the width of an attribute in the imported xml file. But it does not work...

    It's my read/write rules:

    element 'POINT-CELL-LIST.

    {

    is fm table cell element.

    the "width" attribute is fm column width of property;

    column and the width of the FM property value is "2cm".

    }

    The last line that specifies the width of 2cm seems to be accepted as I can save ESD in the DTD without errors, but it has no effect on the actual width of the created table.

    The line above, it does not at all. When I try to save the EDD, I get the following error: "invalid property specified for the element (ITEM-CELL-LIST).

    I tried all the ways that I can think of, but nothing seems to work

    The only way I could actually set the widths is to create a table in the main master page and the resizing of columns. Bringing on the imported XML.

    Rudi,

    Ah, no problem. Do not set the widths in the rules of r/w, but in an attribute on the

    element, something like:

    XML1:

    XML2:

    You did not mention what units you are using, so I guessed mm. Alternatively, you can use proportional widths, using an asterisk as a unit:

    This variation tells FM to use all available space (width of the column or page, as determined by the pgwide attribute) and to divide so that columns 2 and 4 are twice as wide as the other columns.

    You can use items if you use CALS tables, in particular, if you have an element of .

  • How to set the width of the column read/write rules?

    Hello specialists of the structure.

    I read a set of DITA files in a specific format to the FM model, and there is a detail that I can't work properly. It should be possible to set the width of the columns in a table, even if the DITA file does not include this information. But the developer Application Structure reference does not give information about what string to pass to the property of fm of column widths. Anyone out there experience in doing this?

    Thank you

    Jang

    I have it!

    Turned out to be simple, but the info was more or less hidden in the Dev Guide of Ref: I already had the line "property column widths fm is the value" but did not know the syntax for values. Turns out you need to delimit the values with spaces, not commas. The parser does not give ANY useful information, simply mentions "somewhere near syntax error" or completely ignores the values that you specify.

    This is how the rule for my properties DITA element works now:

    {'Properties' element

    is fm of table element;

    columns FM property value is "3".

    column and the width of the FM property value is "5cm 5cm 6 cm;

    }

    This works. I earn 10 points to answer my own question. :-)

  • Resize the width of the columns in PivotTables

    Hello

    Can anyone help with adjustment of the size of the columns in a PivotTable. I have 3 measure around 12 months on a page:

    Volume total margin total (%) Total contribution
    Market January 2010 February 2010 March 2010 April 2010 may 2010 June 2010 July 2010 January 2010 February 2010 March 2010 April 2010 may 2010 June 2010 July 2010 January 2010 February 2010 March 2010 April 2010 may 2010 June 2010 July 2010

    The months on some measures are roll upward and the others are on a single line, the width of the column can be rolled up or adjusted?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Yes, it can be. Click on a column and go to Format values > additional formatting Options > width. Try putting 50%, 60% if you want to, they grow.

    Header Format similiarly will work for the size of the header.

    You have to play with it to meet your needs.

  • How to manage data in css bar chart plugin

    Apex 4.2 running against database 11 g.  I have a CSS bar graph plug in the regions. Now, if there is no data found in a given region the region of bar chart is empty.  I want to display a message in the box indicating no data found rather than having just a blank area but I don't see how.  When I look at the plug of standard attributes the 'No data found Message attribute a' is disabled so I'm not able to check it out.

    The data source for the bar chart is a collection that is populated by calling a stored procedure that returns a sql query string.

    Any suggestions for how to manage this?

    One way is to create shadow graphic HTML containing the "no data found" messages for each of the regions. Use Exists (SQL query returns at least one row) conditions to display the chart area when relevant data exist in the collection, and NOT Exists (SQL query returns no line) conditions to show the "no data found" region when it isn't.

    Another would be a dynamic action that verifies the existence of the graphical mark in each region and injects "no data found" messages where it does not exist.

    Change the plug-in (if allowed by the license) would be the last option.

  • Setting the width of the field label

    I have a form on which I have two of my fields (columns) in the same row, using the start on new line = No and field = No parameters for the second field. However, this second field label is has no spacing at each end, so that it starts really close to the value for the first column area and really ends close to the area of the value of its own column. I want to add a bit of space, perhaps to increase the width of the cell holding the 2nd label.

    The first obvious option did not work: add empty spaces to the label itself.

    I tried to enter s tyle = "width: 275px" and width = 275px in the field attributes of HTML table cell, but none who does nothing.

    Running on 4.1.0.00.28.

    Creating an example of apex.oracle.com is the best way to present a problem, especially those related to the HTML structure, page layout and form, the visual style and JavaScript.

    I tried to enter s tyle = "width: 275px" and width = 275px in the HTML table cell attributes field, but none of these makes anything.

    Which HTML attributes table cell? With start on new line = No and field = no. 1 point of control, the point label 2 and the 2nd point control will appear in the same cell, with only the attributes of the 1st checkpoint applied.

    width=275px

    The width for cells in a table attribute is deprecated: use CSS instead. "275px" is also an invalid value for this attribute: value is a number that represents the width of the cell in pixels or percentage.

    The first obvious option did not work: add empty spaces to the label itself.

    Specification HTML load user agents to collapse the white space characters, so several areas will be grouped together in a single space.

    Round this is to use the non-breaking space character entity & nbsp; instead of standard spaces:

    {noformat}&{noformat}nbsp;{noformat}&{noformat}nbsp;Foo{noformat}&{noformat}nbsp;

    Another approach would be to apply CSS padding to the label by wrapping it in a spanstyle:

    Foo

  • How to specify the width of the column for classic report in 5 Apex?

    5 apex, I click on the name of the report in tabular form and then go to the tab report attributes.  When you look at the attributes column, there is a list of the database columns that are included in the report.  One of the attributes is the column width.  Regardless of the value, as I type, the column widths do not change when you view the results of the report.

    For a particular column of data in the report, which is editable, this is show only about 20 characters and I want to show him perhaps 50 characters.  It would be great if it would also wrap up the value of a new line when the size of the data is too large to fit in the allotted space.

    I guess that it is a simple setting and I looking in the wrong place.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Kim

    Hi Kim

    Bakhtiyar post is the correct answer.  However, there are occasions where does not display the width option in the attributes Panel. that was the position that I assumed you are in.  It depends on how the form of tables was created.  If it was created using the wizard, no problem.  If the form has been created manually (IE without using the Wizard), and then depending on the model used, the width option does not appear.  The only way we found it is to recreate the form (using the Wizard).  Or use the css above.

    I hope that your form displays the width option.

  • APEX shape: width of the control label

    Hello
    Using APEX 4.1.

    I have a short and long (some are 100 characters) field labels. My question is how can I control the width of the label or in the label column... my long labels grow form regions right out of the borders of the model. Is there a way of globally defined or wrap labels?

    Thank you

    HM... you could use short tags instead of long and put the long description in the help text for the element. This help text is displayed when you use the label matching (as "optional with the help") model.

    You can also put an html break tag ("< br="">" ") in the text of the label to force a two-line label at one time.

    Either use the same CSS approach by adding a static region ID in the report area and adding the style sheet in the header HTML page:
