WiFi does not work in Windows XP.

I thought I was savvy computer and said to a friend at work who has a problem with internet sound that I could fix it. I'll have more trouble than I thought. She told me it's a Windows 7 and it's a Dell Windows XP Professional service pack 3. I'm not very familiar with them.

She told me that she had uninstalled some programs she felt slow down his computer and now its wireless does not work light is not on, switch is on, but when I go to all NICs, is a 1394 network adapter and a Broadcom NetXtreme and acts like he needs a cable connected to get online when she has never had to use a cable attached. I find anywhere where there is wireless settings or anything like that.

Someone please help, this lady is super nice and I wouldn't let him down. I have the computer here with me now and if someone could help I would be grateful is so

I wanted to say she told me it was a Windows 7 when I took on the task, and when I got it home that it was actually a Windows XP Pro Service pack 3. I apologize for not clearly do.

I actually thought about it. All I had to do was install the latest version of the driver from the website of Dell Wireless. It has been so long since I did nothing with a XP or a Dell really but thanks anyway.

The wireless on my Satellite L500 worked perfectly before you update windows. However, after the updat when you try to connect to a wireless connection, it says that "no connection is available.

I then clicked on fix to try to find a solution. Then the message "the diagnostic policy service does not work. Using Ctrl + Alt + Delete I went on services and attempted to start the DPS manually, but the message "Diagnstic political service on Local computer started and stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. »

This message puzzled me enough as it is said that the Wifi is infact on however in a attempt to FN + F8 F8 option does not appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Want M4-1115dx: button Wifi does not work in Windows 10

I have this laptop for three years now and it has been good for me. The only one I brought to it were installing Windows 7 bit after that I him I had (care for Windows 8), upgrading to an SSD in a couple of years ago, and upgrade the WLAN module to a Centrino 6235 - listed here - http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03600883

I recently decided to upgrade to Windows 10 and found that I could not the wireless to work at all. It simply says that the wireless switch is turned off and I need to turn it on. This notebook is not a wireless switch, there the fn + f12 combo that is supposed to activate or deactivate it, but it does in Windows 10 is switch on and outside airplane mode. It does not start the wifi and any attempt to use the software cursor settings translates the cursor comically bounce on a fraction of a second and slide back for out of himself.

I know that this phone is not officially supported on Windows 10 HP, but it's the only snag in an otherwise impeccable installation. I downloaded the best drivers, I find the latest drivers Intel Wireless for him, and tried several drivers of wireless button, all with the same results. Does anyone else have this problem?

Some other details: the led on the button always orange rest while in Windows 7, it becomes white when wifi is on. I can't turn white for what in Windows 10. I have the latest version of the bios F.18 but there is no option in there to turn wifi on or off. Curiously, the bluetooth on the WLAN module works perfectly well on Windows 10.

Thanks for the suggestion of Mrstenter, but now that I had stopped to look, I came across the solution to my problem. This is the card being unsupported, Windows 7, simply, is not affected by this new method of white list and never tried Windows 8 to find out. I don't know why the card is listed in the manual if it is not taken care of, but I happened to try the number listed in the manual and it does not have an Intel card, a completely different card appears. Maybe someone made a blunder in the drafting of the maintenance manual?

Anywho, in this video is what I had to do to make it work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzAKcmlaH1M

Apparently, it's like 'a fixed wire' radio equipment on while the laptop is turned on, but now that I did it, the wireless button turns off in the software. The card still does not appear in the UEFI diagnostics.

  • HP 15 laptop: wifi does not work windows 8.1

I have Windows installed pro 8.1. I was using wifi on this laptop, it worked fine. However, recently, I see that the Wifi does not work although he shows me the SSID of my network I used to use and also the SSID of the networks of neighbors. (It means that the wifi on laptop chip is capable of scanning the wifi signals and so it works). The same router from which all other Mobile tablets, my home laptop work are able to connect to the wifi network. Only on this laptop I am facing this problem. What may be a solution or what I should try. I tried the steps listed here http://www.fixedbyvonnie.com/2013/10/how-to-fix-limited-or-no-connectivity-wi-fi-issues-in-windows-8...

Although I have not changed the default settings only steps above on blog, I tried to solve the problem. However, it did not work. Also keys function + F12 on laptop has no effect. The light on the F12 key is always on. However, it is possible to toggle the wifi in the bar of Windows 8.1 charms.

    What should I check?

I bought an external USB wifi device that solved the problem.  The card wifi on laptop works well, but for some unknown reason, he is not able to connect to home wifi router. http://www.snapdeal.com/product/leoxsys-150-Mbps-Nano-WiFi/1179610?utm_source=earth_feed&utm_campaign=TopPerformersPLAScaling3000&utm_medium=CPC&utm_content=1179610&utm_term=, & campaignid = 350311165 & 28373951005 = adgroupid & adposition = 1o1 & network = g & device = c & targetid = pla-55251503741

  • Bluetooth does not work on Windows in Satellite C660-A047

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my laptop (satellite c660-A047) Bluetooth does not work on windows (7 and 8), but it works very well under Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Backtrack).

I have an outgoing method :) to do run on windows, start Linux Live then set the Bluetooth adapter to the off State, and then reboot (do not stop, restart only), and then start windows this time this Bluetooth adapter works great and updated automatically in the Device Manager.

To use Bluetooth on windows I have to do the same steps: (.)

If someone wants to know all the details to help me solve these curious case, I will be grateful.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you soon.

The laptop supports Wlan Atheros / module combo BT.
This means that a single module shares WiFi and BT connectivity.

Using Win 7 you must add the additional drivers called filter for driver Atheros BT package.
So first the Atheros WLan driver must be installed, secondly Atheros BT filter after battery Toshiba BT.

To help to win 8, you must install two components of driver manually to enable the Bluetooth feature: System Toshiba + Atheros Bluetooth driver driver filter

  • Satellite P500-1CK - WIFI does not work

    Hello

I bought a Satellite P500-1CK with Windows 7 64 bit. Cause I don't need, I replaced it with Windows 7 32 bit and now my WIFI does not work.

I tried many drivers, Toshiba drivers and Realtek drivers, old and new versions. Installed and uninstalled them again and again. But it does not work. In the Device Manager, there is no error and no question mark. The map will be displayed as a RTL 8191SE, it's true. I've identified the vendor & device ID also.
The other FN keys works like a charm, but FN + F8 does not appear. The wireless switch is active and the led is orange.

When I type "cmd" then "ipconfig/all" it will be only shown the PCI Atheros Gigabit Adapter with the IP address, but not the adapter WLAN of Realtek.

Searched Google @ and spend hours and hours, but I am at my wits end... Please help me.

    funthomas22

    Hi funthomas22,

And this doesn t work exactly?

You see a WLAN in range?
Have you looked for WLAN networks?
Can you connect to WIFI networks?

A point would be interesting: can you try the same thing with preinstalled Windows 7 64 bits instead of your own 32-bit installation?
Therefore, use the recovery disk Toshiba to restore the version of the OS preinstalled. You will have a pre-tested Toshiba Windows 7 installation where everything should work properly.
