Will be my DV7-6c95dx except an SSD without modification and is compatible SATA III?

Hello:

Or is it an adapter of some sort.

Win7

If is not SATA III compatible (vs previous versions) it would be a valid reason to consider NOT install and SSD?

And one last question:

This computer has a different view of any LCD I've met before. The contrast in the Intel Graphics window setting seems almost seem a gamma set with 'wash' past with very small movements of the slider to the right...

Normal for this machine?

Hello

I didn't disagree with that because SATA III is backward compatible. Yes, you can not get the SATA III speed, but you can see a huge improvement especially start & stop time, copy files, photoshop... compared to a normal 7200 tr / MIN HARD drive.

Kind regards.

    Hi @gmurph52 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and questions with the WebCam. Thank you for all the information about what you have tried and what you see in Device Manager. Very useful.

I would like to start by uninstalling the devices listed in your device under imaging devices Manager. Reboot the laptop.

Do you see something new in there?  Here's a document on how to fix the WebCam as the computer sees connected and recognizes it.

Are not, you may have to check the connections. Here is a link to your manual page 30 parts and page 84 of deletion for the location on your laptop.

  • G3 G3 250 HP (J4T62EA): 250 HP (J4T62EA) - compatible SATA III upgrade, SSD

    Hello world

I bought G3 250 HP laptop (jJ4T62EA). I have a question about the SATA 3.0 interface. I want to change my Samsung 850 EVO SSD 250 GB HARD disk drive. My laptop does support SATA 3.0 to 6.0 Gbps? Thanks for your help.

    Hello again!

I got SSD already, so I checked that my laptop supports SATA III. Magician of Samsung, which is a dedicated software for the Samsung SSD drives shows that everthing is working at full speed on SATA III (6 Gbps). In conclusion, if you have a G3 250 HP (J4T62EA), you can improve it without loss of performance associated with the SATA interface. If you want I can put here results of benchmarks on next week.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx - do not pick up the Samsung 840 Evo SSD for clean installation

    Hello

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx

I bought a new Samsung 840 Evo 500 GB SSD and going on to replace the main HARD drive. Tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on it using the USB bootable Win 7, it loads the installation and starts ok and then he asks to load the driver for any device and gives you an analysis of the option to see if there is any storage device to select for installation. It clearly shows that it does not pick up the SSD.

Unfortunately the bios insydeh20 V3.5 has no possibility of even check if it is detected or so.

What do you think is the problem? The BIOS update would solve this issue? or is there any other work around that.

    Thank you

    Mike

Before I went ahead with the method you suggested, I tried updating the Bios with the latest version and voila... system picked up the SSD and all is well now.

    Thank you

    Mike

    What happens if nothing helps?

It is possible that the tiny wires in the camera are broken.  If nothing is done to fix the camera, you may need to consider that the wires that connect the camera to the computer are loose or disconnected (broken).  If that's true, in other words, if the wires are broken or disconnected, the webcam / camera will not work.  This isn't good news, but this is not cheap having fixed.  You can take the computer to a local computer repair center, the confidence of having this kind of work.  HP can also do this repair.  If you have the skills, you can do the repairs yourself.

    HP SimplePass

    Reboot = redΘmarrer

HP SimplePass is sensitive to "other software" on the computer.  Everything must be "up-to-date" and ready to go.

For example, you want to have your update of the .NET Framework, you want to have your updates from Windows Update (in the last month or almost) and you want to make sure that you do not have a shortage of pilots.

    For example:

Page driver your computer laptop Support site:

Category: Software - security > HP ProtectSmart hard drive Protection

    sp57232.exe

Category: Software - Solutions > HP framework

    sp56878.exe

    The short answer:

    Preparation

    • Stop all programs: browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > display icon > System > System Protection >

Select (highlight) your main drive (C)

Click on Create a Restore Point

Installation of the driver and HP SimplePass

    • Download the Driver of sensor of validity on your computer:

    sp56403 validity sensor Driver W7 - 64 bit V4.3.301.0

    • The pilot will probably download in your "Downloads" folder
    • Install the driver of sensor of validity by 'double click' on the name of the file
    • Restart the computer and log in

    Next

    • Download the version of HP SimplePass program 5.4.0.402 on your computer:

    sp58600.exe

    • Probably, the package will be downloaded in your "Downloads" folder
    • Install the HP SimplePass program in "double click on the file name.
    • Restart the computer and log in

See if you can get HP SimplePass program to start

    ===============================================================

HP SimplePass Version 5.4.0.402 is an older version of the program SimplePass.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't work for everyone.

There is a newer version of the HP SimplePass program drawn up by the same company (AuthenTec) that might work.

If you want to try it, follow these steps:

    • Download this program:

    sp63224 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.276 Win7-8

    • Probably, the package will be downloaded in your "Downloads" folder

  • HP Pavilion dv7 - 4083cl: support SSD SATA III?

    Hello

I think about adding a 2nd. hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7 - 4083cl.

The current drive of 500 GB at 7200 RPM will be the 2nd. drive and a new SSD will be 1. drive (System and boot).

I was looking for this information, but I couldn't find the answer. My doubts are:

    1. the dv7 - 4083 cl does support SATA III? If I install a SATA III disc, will it work to its full potential, or as a SATA II drive? In other words, can I buy a SSD SATA II drive cheaper because I wouldn't have the performance of a most recent hard drive SSD SATA III?

    2. a 256 GB SSD support this machine? Or is it just up to 160 GB?

    Thank you!

    Hello:

You know the chipset specifications to determine what version of your laptop SATA drive will manage transfer speeds to.

Your laptop computer has a chipset Mobile Intel series 5 (HM55) who can run that hard disks to the SATA II transfer speed.

Not until you get to new Intel 6 Series chipsets and can they run SATA III drives to SATA III speed.

Here is the link to the plug on the chipset of your notebook.  Note the SATA 3.0 GB/S specifications.

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/mainstream-chipsets/mobile-chipset-HM55.html

Since your laptop comes standard with a 500 GB HARD drive, I imagine a 250 GB SSD should work fine.

However, the recovery disks may not work on a smaller hard drive.

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

    Kind regards

  • This laptop will support an ocz vertex 3 series VTX3-25SAT3 - 240 G 240 GB SSD, SATA III 6 GB/s?

    HP Pavilion DV7-4080US, Windows 7, 64-bit

I want to replace the existing 500 GB "d" (5400 RPM) drive with an OCZ 240 GB drive SSD SATA III and must make sure that this laptop will support a SATA III SSD drive?

I am not concerned about the start time that you want to use the SSD for video editing, so I don't anticipate using the SSD instead of the c"" drive.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Well, this will speed up the startup time of your machine a lot but for editing video may not help much. In any case the SATA III (or 3) is backward compatible with SATA II (or 2) and SATA I (or 1). You're probably on the price/cost. A little program called PC Wizard will tell you the speed of the disk on your computer controller:

You can download it from the following link:
