-win 7 64 - all versions of Firefox (tested 17-20.b) keep crashing except if used in compatibility XP sp3
Since yesterday my firefox crashes, sometimes I have the option to reset firefox or start in safe mode. Using only the mode without failure of firefox works fine (but without plugins/addons)
So I did a fresh reinstall (No Add ons etc) thought to solve the problem.
I was using v19 when all this happened so retrograde to v17 hoping to fix it.
Now, I tried to v20b v17 and all keep crashing when used "normally".
After the new installation I have more the possibility to use the firefox safe.
If my recollection is correct, I had a few Java Update at the time of the first collision. I also tried to use the automatic update of win7, but those failed.
I therefore also uninstalled all java components, installed fresh firefox and tried to start firefox, before and after reinstalling java.
in all situations is immediately crashes.
The only way to make firefox work now uses the Windows XP (sp3) to windows compatibility.
I have no system restore points win7, so there is no option to use.
All other software (and browser) work very well... only firefox crashes all the time.
How to solve this problem?
I looked around and followed all the suggestions I found on topics somewhat related to mine, but nothing works.
Here is my latest 5 crash reports:

Try to return to a previous version of Firefox, but the System Restore keeps freezing
Restore original titled problems: System
I've upgraded to the latest version of Firefox 4, I'm not like the way it works on my laptop. Now when I tried "System Restore" to return to the old version, the "System Restore" process seems to freeze. Explaining the best process, I remember. He will ask me to select a restore point, I chose one. I'm prompted to select then I do. I wait about 5 minutes and nothing happens. Any suggestions?
I tried what you suggested.
What exactly have you tried?
Norton is installed on your PC?
Also, why not uninstall Firefox? (And then install the latest version.)

I was never able to get the update to Firefox version to read, so I'm on AOL Mail base, because they do not support the old version, which has been replaced and updated 30 times, if not more. I need to get it to show in my system and I was not able to get it to happen. Is there a substitution or something I should do when I update, because the system does not want to do.
Wow, haven't seen one of these problems in a while!
Your useragent is blocked at 3.6.16 due to an extension that adds stuff to AU in time. Firefox 4.0 and newer au is not affected in this way.
The user agent is corrupted by the Fast Browser Search (FBSMTWB) that identifies you as Firefox/3.6.17
Your User Agent:
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 Firefox/3.6.16 ImageShackToolbar/5.2.5 FBSMTWB

Does not apply.
In addition, with the new quick release cycle, the update process has changed. For example, the firefox 8 which was released several months ago is the same 8 Firefox there today. For some releases there maybe an update minor to fix one or two issues, but usually known bugs has waited until the next version which will be fixed. (Example, if a bug was in Firefox 5, it was not set up to 6, etc..). So unlike before, when you could run Firefox 3.5.x for looking after 3.6 was released, and the old version have always updated, this story has changed now.
There is a downgrade of Firefox 3.6, which was left to the organizations until we found a strategy to support. Something that you might be interested in is the Extended Support Release of Firefox. At present, it is based on firefox 10 and you will receive minor updates for a year, then is upgraded to a version not (for example, next year it will probably be Firefox 17) If you want something that isn't to change that but always has the most recent security patches.

Where can I get version portable Firefox 7.0 or 7.0.1 for Mac/apple?
My order Web site requires version 5, 6 or 7 of firefox to run. I think that it be bad downgrade so I will try to find where I can download a portable version safely.
There is a portable version for the Windows platform and not for Mac and Linux.
You will need to install the other version in a different directory program via a custom installation.

When and where can I get the beta version of firefox 31 ESR?
The current beta is downloadable on http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#beta is v30.0b9, right? (if so, why not v31.09b?) (Also, my platform is Linux)
As much as I KNOW Firefox ESR is not a beta or alpha as the regular Firefox releases. The current beta version is 30.0b9, but I expect that to change because 30 was released and the beta version will be based on 31.0 soon. I think have the wrong you how will the versions. Each channel of Firefox (nightly, Aurora, beta, release) past six weeks in trials and then gets moved to the new channel (for example, nightly-> Aurora-> Beta-> exit).
The link you're talking about above is the 30 Firefox Beta 9 (which will change as I said soon). ESR downloads are at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/ http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ and the FAQ at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/
Note that Mozilla has a release calendar publicized for all versions of Firefox.

I saw a previous question to a windows user, but it seemed that he was very long (speaking of the 3.x.x editions), and all links on this thread seemed to have only 3 updates. I just want to stay with the version of Firefox before this last update (30/10/12) who say 16.0.2 work well with my older Mac OSX. Can you provide me with a link to reinstall and forgive my ignorance, but let me know exactly what I have to do to avoid losing preferences and bookmarks and others? Thank you very much.
All versions of Firefox 16 still work with your operating system OS X 10.5, but this is the last version that works.
Firefox 17 will require OS X 10.6 and later. Here you can see the 17 Firefox (currently in beta) system requirements:

You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today to get the best of the Web!
Whenever I update my firefox, I get this message, you are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today to get the best of the Web!
It - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Page to start Firefox used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox. I think that Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox, as they hard-coded message 'upgrade' in this page - all versions of Firefox see this message.
From version Firefox 4, Firefox uses a 'local' with the address Start Page of Subject: House. It looks like the old start Page, but this isn't exactly the same thing.

Not a problem, just curious.
No he is not separated for laptops and desktop computers.
Just Mozilla has not yet turned on 3.6 to 6.0 update notifications. I don't even get this possibility today (and for the last few days) when I manually "Check for Updates" on 3.6.18 / 20 in the Help menu. It is difficult to update everyone using all versions of Firefox in a single day or even over several days, there is only so much available bandwidth.

If I switch to the newer version of Firefox I lose Identity Safe w / Norton?
the last time I tried to update to firefox, I lost my w/Norton Identity Safe. This issue is still ongoing?
URL of affected sites
http://
Hello, Jim.
First of all, I must remind you that the version of Firefox you are using right now has been deleted and is no longer supported. In addition, he has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I invite you to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and ease of use. You can get it for free, as always, to getfirefox.com.
And if you lose "Identity Safe w/Norton", if it is an extension, you need to just try, or ask about it to Symantec. You can always go back to Firefox 3.0 if you want to, but who is not recommended at all, since Firefox 3.0 is not updated and is not safe to use.
Also, make sure "Identity Safe w/Norton" (if it is an extension) If this does not work with Firefox 3.6, maybe you can force compatibility. See this. If you have any questions, just ask.
As a side note and that is a purely personal observation, I do not think that "Identity Safe w/Norton" will improve your safety at all, if you are using Firefox 3.0. If she doesn't do anything (usually this kind of software is just marketing scams), it's slowing down your computer. Also, it is definitely and probably preferable to run Firefox 3.6 without it than to run Firefox 3.0 with it. Now and in your case, I think that the best solution is to run Firefox 3.6 with it, but I don't recommend you let keep you updated to 3.6, if it's not compatible.
If "Identity Safe w/Norton" is not an extension, please tell me what it is.
