Win 7 Product key

I installed an SSD, try to install win 10. Wonder installation product key.

I bought this HP desktop computer and there is no product anywhere key on the device.

I have the software for recovery/installation of the professional application of win 7 on DVD.

Is the product key anywhere on the DVD? I looked and found OEM Cert, but all the numbers on the cert do not work, how do I get this back for win 7?

A reputable provider is supposed to place a COA sticker on the computer case.

I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

OK that's all, thank you.  Shaun.

No, you can not transfer this license to another computer, because it is an OEM license.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

Product key placed in the lower corner of your laptop is useless for you. Why?
This product key is for the original version of recovery that you have with your machine and cannot be used for activation if you install Windows by using the original Microsoft facilities.

  • Replace my motherboard now my retail Win 7 product key is blocked.

This machine works very well for about five years. Has decided to upgrade the MB, the Ram, the processor. After installation of my Windows 7, I went to activate online got message saying that my PK has been blocked. Tried the automated phone Activation, he says that this Transaction could not be completed at this time. Went on a Microsoft Help site and asked a Technical Support call. He told me simply that my PK has been blocked without reason. Today, I tried the activation of the automatic phone again but this time I waited for a live person and he said the same thing about the blocked KP should be I try MS Tech Support and that they would help me. I already went there that they did not help. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

In addition to Try * 3, post, please note that when motherbaord and processor are replaced together, he is considered in new PC and therefore Windows will fail to activate.

In addition, kindly have a look at the following:

    1. If the Windows license was purchased in a retail store, you can contact the Microsoft Support and request for license transfer.

2 If Windows is preinstalled on your PC, and the motherboard with processor has been replaced by the manufacturer, the existing Windows license will work.

    3. If Windows was preinstalled on your PC and motherboard with processor have been replaced by a different brand, you can't ask for transfer of license as shown in 1. In this case, he must purchase a new license.

PLEASE, DO NOT RESPOND WITHOUT HAVING READ THE FIRST POST! IM NOT ASKING IF I CAN TRANSFER THE PRODUCT KEY ON ANOTHER COMPUTER! My laptop was stolen, but I have the Windows 7 product key.  Can I disable Win 7 for this laptop so they can not use it?  I don't want to transfer the product key on another computer, nor am I asking questions on the follow-up to the computer I bought a computer brand new with a perfectly good copy of win 7. I just need to disable the old key so that they get the Windows 7 is not geniune message and can not get updates.  Furthermore, I have a proof of purchase (original receipt from reception and cc) and entered it in the original box.

IM NOT ASKING IF I TRANSFER PRODUCT KEY ON ANOTHER COMPUTER!

IM WONDERING NOT IF I CAN FOLLOW USING THE COMPUTER WIN 7 PRODUCT KEY!

If you know the correct product key, you can block the user in use- but it won't stop them reformatting and reinstalling using recovery disks from the manufacturer to reinstall using the OEM_SLP key - and it would also prevent your use your laptop must be returned.

You must contact one of the centers of activation and inform them of the keys and the circumstances.

They will then issue a global block on the key (which can take a long time) which will result in any attempt to validate or activate any system with this key, which gives a non-genuine message on the desktop - it will NOT prevent the use of the system, and it will NOT stop the user both take steps to steal the data and/or reformatting/reinstall.

Also note that the key on the COA sticker on the case of the machine is not normally the one in use,- and if the key OEM_SLP is still in use, MS can take no action at all, as thousands of others would be affected.

  • How to get the product key of Windows 8 in Windows 8 OEM preload

    Hi guys

I had a problem with my Windows 8. as we know, we can find win 7 product key by clicking on the computer properties and we can find it in the folder i386, but where do I find my windows product key for win xp preloded OEM, OS 8 was Lenovo, I checked in system properties, the whole product is not displayed , his looks like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-48796, I called Microsoft support and they said that we are not providing, I called the guys at Lenovo said verified with Microsoft, my OS is this true .confuse which continues?

    Thanks in advance, kindly suggest

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

    HP Pavilion 15 Windows 8 e030eo-> 8.1 update process

HP support gave me the right explanation for this mess,
pointing to the direction of Microsoft heavily.
    It's the whole process:

The laptop unpacking and setting up.
Begin the installation of the updates of win8, 95 of them.
System starts to install, reboots and starts to undo the updates.
So I ran diagnostics from the BIOS, everything is OK
Restoration of the laptop to the factory via F11 settings
From updates again, only 5 at the time.
Many updates ended up with erros and MS-Its made were
loaded and run several times and restarts each time.
Finally, both even 20 updates were installed successfully.

With the help of Windows Store updated the system to Win 8.1.
But there is no way to enable that.

Support for HP asked me to restore the system by selecting
settings at the corner of right on the screen,
and selecting the update / restore-> restore (without
destroy the files users) sorry I use the Finnish language version
and do not know requires it English.
It took awhile, but finally the uo started system
    with windows 8.
Once again the disorder even with updates and through the win store to Win 8.1

This activation time managed automatically, and
    the system is running.

I noticed that during the update/restore treats windows
License number changed somehow to win 8.1 license.

It was a long and timely process, but according to HP support
It is the way in which Microsoft requires us to do.

Your tour definitely had a COA sticker initially (or at least if it does not, the HP was in breach of its contract with MS conditions).

I have a disc of original home installation win xp, but have lost the product key that was on the box of the cd, how do I know what is the key?

If you have a computer on which the product has been installed AND it is a retail version of XP Home (not a version installed at the factory where you never entered the label key), you can use a program of keyfinder to retrieve.  I usewww.magicaljellybean.com keyfinder program for this purpose.  Even if you have a hard drive that had the operating system installed on it and it still can be read in another computer then the tool load the hive in this program will be found the product key.  Otherwise, you're out of luck.
