First of all - what you were doing was not a legitimate path in the first place.  The Dell OEM was probably already used on a Dell system at some point.

Second - to activate Windows XP Professional OEM, you need a product key for Windows XP Professional OEM.  No, the Windows 7 licenses will not help you.

Probably your only choice (and is not the best) is to locate someone sell Windows XP Professional on the Internet, find the provider that you can trust most, purchase and use of the CD and the product key you get to install.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 on retina Macbook Pro 2011

I try to install and run Windows 8 on my Macbook Pro 15 "retina end 2011 with OS 10.10.5."

I read a ton of forums, and they say all get a Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft Web site. I did it.

Then, they say get a Virgin USB key and plug it in. I did, and I put the ISO on my USB external drive.

Then he said: open Boot Camp Assistant, what I do, but then it does not match what say all forums. When I open the Boot Camp Assistant, he goes to the Introduction page. I click CONTINUE and the next page says SELECT TASKS. The only two available tasks are to "Download the latest software from Apple support" or "install Windows 7 or later.

I select both, it asks me to select my destination drive, what I do, then click "CONTINUE".

It downloads the Windows support software.

Then I get an error message that says "Installer disc cannot is, wait a few minutes for something (I forget exactly).»

So I wait and nothing happens and I'm back on the screen SELECT TASK.

    ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED.

  • BlackBerry software sharing pictures with macbook pro

recently, I went to a computer windows laptop to a macbook pro. When connecting my blackberry via USB classic, it took a while, but finally the macbook "seen" the classic, and I was able (with a few detours) to import pictures from the phone. now, it seems to me after an update of mac OS, the macbook does not recognize the phone more, and I was able to share photos via bluetooth only - VERY painful and slow. BlackBerry link requires iphotos, that the macbook is no longer present. all clever ideas on how to share photos with the macbook?

For me, it became a comparison between security and flexibility. Examples:

E-mail, calendar, and Contacts - those I store 'master' in the cloud (Outlook.com via Office365). I have three devices BB10, a BB PRIV, a BB PlayBook, three Win10 PC and a MAC, all with the same exact data work simultaneously. I can do anything on any of these platforms, and whatever I do is replicated immediately and automatically to all other platforms. And I use the interface of webmail Outlook.com also, if need be. Immense flexibility, I need for my situation.

Data (photos, videos, spreadsheets, etc.) -I also have these synchronization (or at least available) on all of these same platforms. When I take a picture with my camera of BB, it is transferred automatically to my OneDrive, then visible and available on all other platforms.

What all this is the Tower my devices, computers, etc. in simple interfaces to my data, with value added to be able to process these data, but the data itself is stored safely upward in this cloud. I can lose a device without impact, whether to my data... it is always safer. Heck, my house could burn down, taking with him all of these devices and computers... but still my data would be preserved.

Security - there are many opinions here, but I have and of many security experts I know all agree that the idea that a computer and a mobile device, connected via a USB cable, is actually not safer than the use of a Cloud Computing service. It may feel safer because keep you control of everything... but the reality is that if a hacker wants your data, 99% of the population don't have in place the necessary guarantees to avoid meeting otherwise that hacker him.

And so my opinion is that the sense of security is actually quite wrong for non-cloud solutions... but for many men, went that change of mentality is a very big challenge. Once done, however, gained flexibility can be pretty huge IMHO.

    Good luck!

  • Question about webcams with Macbook Pro 13-inch, mid 2010

Bear with me as I am the most fundamental basic Mac users. I am currently using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010) with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 I don't use Skype or FaceTime or something like that. Recently, I joined an online course in which they said I need a webcam, headset and microphone so that I can communicate with my instructor and discussions in class.

I have really no idea what hardware inside is on my laptop. Is the built in camera something that could be used for this purpose? Or do I need to buy these separately three elements to make this work? And if yes, are you easy to install and can anyone recommend something good, but also low-cost as possible.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Your built in FaceTime, camera is sufficient. This is the idea. outdoor cameras are mostly a thing of the past. If the internal webcam is broken, an external is always an option repair vs.

You may need their proprietary software to connect to their course however

  • Question of OpenCL El Capitan with MacBook Pro

Hello. I gave my MacBook Pro (2014 15 "retina, 7200LE GForce 750) a new installation of El Capitan 10.11. The hard drive has been wiped and I reinstalled OS x from scratch. I tried to use the first with the Open CL GPU acceleration, but all my pause the video snippets like this. It didn't happen with previous OS Yosemite. Changing software of mercury reading only solves the problem, but I would use the Open CL. Any thoughts on how this can be corrected? My MacPro with AMD cards does not exhibit this behavior.error-with-open-cl.jpg

It is a problem with El Captiain: now turn off hardware MPE.

  • Questions about Macbook Pro mid 2012 (Non-retine)

    Hi all

I think to buy my second MacBook.

Currently, I have a MacBook Air mid 2013.

It's screen/flash storage is a little on the small side for me.

Then I watched www.apple.com/benl and sought an Apple laptop that fits my needs.

And I fell on the MacBook Pro Non-retine (bottom of the page for MacBook Pro)

    So my questions are:

Estimated life: it will last at least 2-3 years with what I'll do with it. (Read below for my needs)

It will be always fast enough, there is no need to be fast, but the average speed is necessary (startup time doesn't really matter unless it's longer than 5 minutes).

How long he will be out of date it will get most recent OS X updates for couple preferably 2-3 years.

Is it possible to perform the following operations on this MacBook Pro (my needs):

Some games like: GTA V (on lowest settings), Borderlands, Minecraft, Euro Truck Simulator 2,... (GTA V is working on my MacBook Air but must run from external HARD disk).

    Run Windows 7 in BootCamp.

    Surf the web

    Watch YouTube videos in 1080 p/720 p

    Basic PhotoShop

I'm not going to do things:

    Edit video.

    Record Gameplay videos.

    Should what configuration I:

Cheaper, configuration of stock or choose for Core i7 and 8 GB of RAM I don't need an SSD (it's small, expensive).

I "need" core i7 and 8 GB of RAM or only 8 GB of RAM or only Core i7, just stock or stock with 8 GB of RAM.

    Thanks in advance!

You can watch in Macs, refurbished Apple . These are like new only to an economy and you might find a slightly more than the current date to run Windows 7 in Bootcamp. A mid-2012 will take place in Windows 7 in Bootcamp. I bought 3 Mac (Mac Mini, 2 - MBP retinas) in the past and have never had a problem. They carry the same warranty that any new Mac. I think that any Mac you buy is easily past 2-3 years with what you want to run.

In the list of the things you mentioned, if you get a 2015 model, you will not be able to run Windows 7 in Bootcamp. You pouvez run it in a Virtual Machine like Parallels Desktop 11. I have a retinal model of 2015 and Bootcamp can only setup for Windows 8 and more. So, I run Windows 7 and 10 in a VM using Parallels Desktop. Personally, I would not run any graphics intensive games on your laptop, but you certainly can if you don't mind hearing that run the fans.

Certainly, 8 GB of RAM (minimum) with a 256 GB or larger SSD drive. You can do what others are doing and future proof your Mac by getting 16 GB or RAM. Current models have bus PCIe for flash storage and it's fast! I had a late 2012 with flash SATA storage retina and my current 2015 beginning with PCIe is much faster. Insofar as an Intel i5 or i7, it's really you. With what you mentioned, the i7 would probably be a good choice.
