Windows 7 are compatible with XP software / hardware?

Honestly. Why this issue is SO difficult for Microsoft to answer? After all the flack that you received during Vista, why on Earth is the "XP compatibility mode is limited to Windows 7 Ultimate - who will NOT be more than the version installed on the computers that people who are interested in this issue to buy either the 80% of the users who are ordinary people, not geeks?

I just want to know if I can use my Microsoft Office 2000 Professional on Windows 7. Office 2007 is a nightmare that didn't ask ordinary people who have spent years learning earlier versions. I just want to give dignity to continue to use a product that millions of us LOVE. Please?

In fact, Windows Virtual PC with XP Mode is not limited to the Ultimate edition, it is also supported on Windows Enterprise and Professional editions. The target audience for the Mode XP is really small businesses and power users who still have legacy applications, that they wish to continue to use during the transition to Windows 7.

As noted by Kris, Office 2000 running on Windows 7, there may be a few compatibility problems so don't expect everything works correctly, since the sequel was released 10 years ago. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com
