Windows 7 backup problems

I've been back up my windows 7 for a year and I noticed that the history of the backup load is quite different each time, from 10.3 GB 96KO and back to 10 GB to 7.97gGB (backup every 4 months) I read load backup all changes to files/charge etc. Only!

I clear the load every time on my USB and load the current backup. (should I keep the current and add an additional backup to the same flash drive?)

I tried to do a full backup with flash drive but Windows 7 will this full backup with CD only. (Is their a way to make a backup complete using a flash drive?)

I read that Windows 7 does a full backup on all first download and then will make "Incremental" backups and there still going to do a full backup use in the future.

Can you advise when a full backup should be available for the backup in Windows?

Any information would be sincerely appreciated!

Roy

Theres a backup system that is the whole of your PC and there is a backup of the data, that is, as it says, just the data

You apear to use backup of data and this is progressive, that is to say after the first backup, it adds only the changed files.

So if you delete the previous backup, you can then restore your data.

Buy an external drive for backup use, do not use a USB

  • Windows 7 backup problem

    Hello

I put Windows 7 up to the top for the first time.  I used an external hard drive.  I am a beginner and I have a few questions, but also a problem that I need help.

    First my questions

    (1) I put in place by selecting "Let Windows choose."  Then I put the calendar to save "Every Sunday at 21:00."  Does this mean that it will create a weekly backup of the image of the system as well?

    (2) for scheduled backups happen, what I need to be logged on my Windows user account, or it will still too long my computer is on (for example, if another Windows user account is connected, but mine isn't).

    (3) what happens if I am connected to my Windows user account, and the power kick in his mode settings "sleep."  Always, it will automatically make a backup as expected?  Or I have to wake up manually my computer "sleep" for the start of the backup?

    Now my problem

Before today, was the date then "backup" 2015/01/03 21:00.  So he must have created backups last night.  But my external hard drive only shows backups (which are dated) the first time I put up using "save now."  Yet, the "Backup and Restore" window says "last backup: 03/01/2015 23:33.»  But there are no files with the date 03/01/2015.  What should I do?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

  • Windows Server backup - Reporting failure, but creates a backup file

Currently have a Server 2008 R2 running. Also runs Hyper-V with 3 than VMS. VM can be found on the D drive, so I have given up trying to save with C, since it was time.

I don't have a setup of daily - just VSS full backup disk Local (c), no bare metal recovery or backup the system state. It's backup on a network drive shared on a different server.

Daily backup status comes back as having failed. However when I go to the destination that the backup must be going, I see a 280 GB VHD file, which is the size expected to see.

The error reported in the Windows Server backup is "one of the backup files could not be created. "Error: the parameter is incorrect".

WSB is horrible to provide crash reports useful on what is the real problem.

Anyone have any idea why it's create a large file of backup, but reported as having failed with this error?

  • Windows Server backup failed

    Hello

We have a problem with our Windows Server backup on our main server. It fails every night and you see disks (5 discs for each day from Monday to Friday) to be offline, even if we can access the data and restore files/folders. We tested another software to backup with one of our readers, and he was properly executed. The event log shows error event ID 561 and 546 "...". the backup failed as no target could be found... "Any ideas what is the cause? As I have said that we ran successfully backup by using one of the players and another software so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

  • Cannot initialize the Windows Server backup on Server 2008 R2

    Hello

I searched around for a bit now to try to find a solution to my mistake, but so far have turned up empty-handed.

Operating system: Windows Server 2008 R2

    Objective:
To obtain Windows Server Backup works then I can start my server backups.

    Problem 1:
When you try to start Windows Server Backup through Server Manager interface, I'm greeted with the following error:

A fatal error occurred during an operation of the snap-in (wbadmin.msc) Windows Server backup.
    Error details: Server execution failed

Close wbadmin.msc and then restart it.

Outcome 1: Looking Me wbadmin Gets the #2 problem...

    Problem 2:
Apparently, block level backup engine server was not active.  When you try to start the block level backup engine Service, I get this:

Windows could not start the service block level Backup Engine Server on the Local computer.
0x800700b7 error: cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Outcome 2: No idea where to go from here.

    Problem 3:
Open the cmd prompt as administrator, I type in what follows to see what I get: net start wbengine

    And get...

The block level backup engine Service service starts.
Block level backup engine Service service could not be started.

    A system error has occurred.

    183 system error has occurred.

Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Result 3: No idea how this started.

So, I find myself thinking about the following: block level Backup Engine Server must be running in order for wbadmin work properly.  However, as I can't start the WBEngine, it is here where I am currently.

If someone has an idea or could tell me what I should do to get this working, it would be greatly appreciated.  I can give more information if necessary.

  • Cannot get permission to access some files restored from a windows vista backup

Hello. I just installed windows 7 on a new hard drive. I bought the upgrade to windows 7 Home premium and I had to install vista on the new hard drive first then windows 7.

I have all my files backed up on an external hard drive and I used windows vista backup and restore to do.

I have now restored my files on my new hard drive using windows 7 backup and restore.

I see all my files and folders, but the thumbnails are missing and when I try to actually open a file, a message informs you that I don't have permission to access.

I tried to click with the right button on the files and changing the security, property, sharing and options, all to nothing does not.

I tried a few ways to restore my files too, but nothing works.

If I save a newly downloaded or created file (for example, a photo that I found on the internet) in the same folders, there is no problem and I can access, so the problem isn't that I don't have access to the records.

Another weird thing is that I can access some of the restored files, but no more than them. I can't think what it is on those I can access that should make them different from those that I can't.

So far it does not my simple PC! Can anyone help please?

I should add that I am the ONLY user of this computer, and it is not on a network. Previously, it was the same when I am running windows vista. This is why I'm the only person who should be able to access the files.

Same problem here after restoring a file backup of Windows Vista to a new installation of Windows 7. This solution worked for me: go to the command prompt, change the drive or a directory, you have problems with and type this:

    ICACLS * / reset/t

Edit: You need to start the command prompt as an administrator to do. Find it in the start menu, then right click and choose 'run as administrator '. Then use the command as shown above.
  • Windows 7 backup could not write to disc error 0 x 80070005 network "access denied."

I spent the last hour looking at the Knowledge Base. There just aren't clear answers, so let's try again.

I am running Window 7 profressionelle.

I'm doing a return upwards using the backup of Windows 7.

Backup target is a network (Western Digital MyBookLive) drive

I can connect to the drive mapping (z) or by using the path network (\\MyBookLive\Backup)

Using the Explorer, I have AUTHORIZED AND CAN create, delete, and copy files. I can also create or delete directories.

Using Windows 7 backup, I add the network drive when you are prompted, as well as the user name and password. No error on this point.

When I run the backup, a number of xxx movies. TMP files are written to the network drive. So, the app has permission to create files.

However, I get an "Access denied" error with an error code 0 x 80070005

    Solutions 1

"I tried a solution of the evolution of the network security: LAN Manager authentication level."

    It did not work.

    Solution 2

I use Avast antivirus. I have it turned off. It did not work.

  • Windows 7 backup - limit exceeded system image

I use Windows 7 backup on an external disk of 1 TB of Seagate.

Calendar is automatic (once / week) and system images, I chose "let Windows manage the backup history (maximum 232,86 GB) space.

(If I change this choice to 'keep only the last image system', he said space is 153,64 GB)

HOWEVER, when I look at the Windows backup disk space management, image system space is already at 277,58 GB, so way more supposed to Go 232,86 MAX.

Backups of data (there are only 2) are 189,44 GB

    16/05/2015-10/10/2015 95.68

    16/10/2015 - 01/02/2016 93.76

and there are 72 GB of other files, the reader is so much more than half full.

    I have 2 questions:

WHY the system recommended in image limit is not be maintained? -I want more than just the last image, but I would like to be able to delete some precedents myself.

Data backups - I used to see the new created on a fairly regular basis, now just of grows and grows. The only reason why I have 2 is because I had to do a restore system image in mid-October.

These two problems mean that I can't manage the space myself by removing older data and system image backups.

  • Windows 7 backup error "the system cannot find the file specified. (0 x 80070002) »

    * Note that I never could solve this problem. In the long run, I ended up reinstalling the operating system (for different reasons), but the issue remained pending. Thanks to those who have tried to help. (January 30, 2011)

Suddenly, I seem to have a problem with Windows 7 backup. I get the message "the system cannot find the specified file. (0 x 80070002) "at the point in the process when the backup is supposed to start. It has disabled my ability to make a backup, of course, except to the directly copy files to another hard drive. I was able to use the same USB drive in the past, so I don't know what happened.

I thought it might be a corrupt profile causing the problem, but I still get the same message on the new profile. I thought that maybe it's the reader, but I get the same message when you try to use the DVD burner.

I think my Windows software is up to date, and I looked in different places to find an answer without success. Any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you. I would be happy to provide you with any additional information you might need.

    Hi Cuzzlor,

I finally solved the problem last week; I had the same error for 4 months.

Although the error message when opened on the Notepad kept identifying a PDF 'missing' that I had deleted my office long and the computer.  I couldn't find the file back.

I noticed that the library tends to scan and Add locations; He had made a place out of the folder, because it was a file created with a scanner.

I've removed the 'empty' location, I don't know how I didn't notice, she draws from images and my backups are free from error.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 backup and restore recording is not recent files (and task corrupted images)

I recently discovered that my Windows 7 backup and restore does not work properly and need help to fix it.  The backup runs daily, but it seems that he spared not the files that have been generated in the last month or so.  For example, I was not able to restore files that have been created last week, even if they have been backed up yesterday.

Any questions/comments that might relate to the question above:

-Last week, I realized that my automatic backup didn't work automatically.  I found the problem is due to a corrupt image of task in Task Scheduler I could fix.  I have developed from my backup with the recommended settings settings, and I discovered that the problem of missing file today.

-J' still have a problem with the images of task corrupted because when I open the Task Scheduler, I get about 70 errors which "XXXX task: the task image is damaged or has been tampered with."  Any help

Help for backup and the Task Scheduler issues would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!

    André

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will definitely help you with this.

This could be due to corruption on the system files, please follow the methods below.

Step 1: I suggest you to re-create the Task Scheduler.

Steps to re-create the Task Scheduler

    1. Click Start; in the start search type regedit.exe and press ENTER. (If you get a consent prompt, click Yes).
    2. Navigate to the following location. HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Schedule keys and remove its subkeys.
    3. Save the changes and then close the registry editor.

Now check if the Task Scheduler works.

Note: The steps mentioned below includes the modification of the system registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Step 2: Perform the scan SFC

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. It is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

See the link: use the File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files

Please answer us with this information and the current state of your computer, we will be happy to help you further.
