It is also possible that your school might have a Campus agreement, which entitles you to a reduced license.

  • Windows 8 recover license key

    Hi all.

A lot of time there is an upgrade my laptop HP's Win 7 to Win 8 Enterprise Edition.

I got 8 win through an agreement with the school and so free. They gave me the product key, but unfortunally that I can't find.

Now, I have to restore my pc, but I can't find the license on the pc.

I used the program as AIDA and BelarcAdvisor.

The first give me an invalid key (as BBBB BBBB BBBB BBBB) either give me only the number four, this is not enough.

BelarcAdvisor specify that Windows 8 full product key is not stored in the pc, is it possible?

Across the net, I searched a valid solution, but found something useful.

I looked in Control Panel-> system too, but even here there is only the last 4 digits.

Is there a way to find the key of product through some programs?

If I restore my pc via utility Win8, should I really the product key?

    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I use the additional features of windows 8.1 license key

I bought acer E5 - 573 G-34QR (Aspire e 15) provided with windows preinstalled 8.1, I activated windows 8.1 but when I try to use additional features of windows 8.1 it ask for the product key.

It depends on what kind of functionality you are looking for.

Moreover, the license key is on your BIOS, so you don't need to activate windows.

here some difference on windows 8 versions, it's the same for 8.1:

    https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8_editions

All mentioned editions have the ability to use the language packs, which allows multiple user interface languages. [5] (this feature previously only available in Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise). However, in China and other emerging markets, a variation of Windows 8 without this feature, called Windows 8 unique language, is sold. This edition can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. [14]

  • How to downgrade Windows 8 Pro - license keys

In order to exercise my rights to downgrade to Windows 8 Pro for Windows 7 Pro (or business Vista) I need a valid key of Windows 7 Pro. How can I get this key? When I called support license (number of times) I was told that I should use a key of an existing facility, or buy a new one. I explained that by using an existing key (assuming I had a) would have this key reported by Microsoft as invalid, and that buying a whole new license did not exercise my rights under the terms of the license. Time and time again support teams have been unable to provide a solution to this problem.

Looking at the document of conditions of licence, it says:
«Instead of using the Windows Pro 8 software, you can use one of the following versions: Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business.»
    and:
"The manufacturer or installer, nor Microsoft is obliged to provide older versions to you."
My interpretation of this is that Microsoft (and the OEM) will grant the rights for the downgrade, but refuses to give the key needed to do.
How can I get a key to be able to exercise my right of demotion, as stated in the terms of the license?

Hi James, I have been informed by Microsoft that if you get a copy of Windows 7, even if it has been used or granted to another user you can load this copy and use the product key and then call Microsoft explaining you exercise your right of demotion and they will give you an authorization code for the product key that you give them.

What I was not able to do is to correctly load Windows 7, my PC comes up with an error. I wish Microsoft or could someone tell me the exact steps like those that Microsoft have highlighted is incorrect!

I searched through the forum, it seems that there is no difference between 64-bit and 32-bit licenses. However, as I know suggested for 64-bit and 32-bit retail price are different. I get confused! If they are the same, then eveyone would buy a 32-bit and then install 64-bit... is it true? Your response is truly appreciated.

Yes, the product key works independently of the architecture (32- or 64-bit), so you can use the same product key used to activate 32-bit Windows 8 Pro with 64-bit Windows 8 Pro.

  • Can I get a license key CS3 with my subscription of the CC?

I have a subscription Adobe CC, but need a feature of CS3 Extended, which was abolished in CC (the function is "Interactive layout" option in Photomerge.)

I used the demo version of CS3 Extended to check that it installs and works in my installation, and I have need the feature does what I want. Now, the trial period is coming to an end and I want to continue to use this feature.

Because I bought a license to use all Adobe products, is there a way I can continue to use CS3 for this a function?

    Thank you!

    # It is simply not possible for technical reasons. CC started with the CS6 and that is as far as you can go backwards.

  • Can I get the upgrade of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC with student discount price?

I have already purchased Acrobat Pro XI student edition year last for $109 and now upgrading to normal people is $ 199, so can I get a discount on that? Because the installation disc any fresh-new Acrobat DC for the student version is only $119 vs $449 for the normal version, so I just think that maybe it would be upgraded for students for about $50, I guess?

Student copies are not expandable at all; not at a price reduced, not at full price. You can only purchase a new student.

  • Pavilion p001TX: lost Windows license key

I bought a pre-installed llicensed WIndows 8.1 compatible HP laptop. Recently I tried to dual-boot my laptop with Ubuntu 14.01 for educational purposes. By mistake I finished my whole hard drive, which meant that even the recovery folder wiped out formatting. I bought the laptop to an authorized HP provider, but he says that the company does not provide a repair CD Windows. The license key is not located in the BIOS of the laptop, it is not yet available on any sticker on any external part of the laptop. What can I do to find the key licensing and re - activate my original Windows? Pease guide me.

    Hi @Rishi17 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p001tx and problems with product activation Windows 8.

Here is a link to product activation Windows 8.

Here is of little assistance from Microsoft as well.

    I hope this helps.

  • My windows license key 7 is not activated?

After having recently restored my computer to windows 7, the license key seems not to be activated. I have restored many times before on this computer and had no problems with windows activation. Windows license keys expire? Help please?

If you regularly restorations, after the 5th time, you may need to reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • I've been doing a series of phone calls telling me that my license key for my Windows is about to expire. Is it a reality or just somone trying to rip me off?

Last week to 10 days, I received lots of calls from someone called PC Support (which sound as if they come from the India) telling me that they want to access my PC to show me the problems that are reported to them from my ISP about something and real operating system Windows on the license key is about to expire.

I suspect that it is a new scam to try to sell the product, anti-virus/malware any... but it got me wondering whether or not it is a real-world scenario.

Can someone me one way or another?

    Thank you.

  • Bought the office home and student.

I tried 4 or 5 times to download asking a the same question on every program I try to open. Enter the PRODUCT KEY! Does'nt Outlook open a what slep when you need so bad.  JC

If your computer has a trial version of Office Home and Student edition is installed, often what will happen is, it will also install other Office programs such as Access and Outlook that are normally not part of this edition. Its a methodology of upsell. If you have purchased only the license for home and student, only programs and Home and Student will be activated (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote). If you want the perspective, you can buy a key for that.

  • Windows 7 - > 8 Upgrade Key Activation

    Hi all

First time poster here, something has blocked me. So, I own a HP Pavilion DM4 3170se, originally shipped with Windows 7. When Windows 8 came out, I took advantage of the upgrade price bought Windows 8 and held above my Windows 7, upgrade. Fast forward to today:

My installation of Windows 8 had problems (the infamous question "disk is locked" as well as several things), and I had to reformat and reinstall the system. Due to complications with my hard drive, I had to do a 0-wipe and completely erase the disk. No problem, or so I thought, as I had a Windows 8 Installer on a USB key. Once I had erased the disc, the MBR problems disappeared, and Windows was able to install the disk normally.

Only one problem: technically, my key of Windows 8 is only a key to upgrade. I have no way to upgrade the facility, however. My original Windows 7 has been saved on a disk partition. I burned this recovery on a disk info, but it is not booting from a disk at all, so I have no way to install Windows 7 and then upgrade. Personally, I prefer to stay with a clean install of anyway to minimize problems.

I have a valid Windows 7 OEM license key. I have a valid Windows 8 upgrade of the key. I have even a key upgrade to media center. I bought and paid for all of these legally, but I have no way to turn on my computer. How can I solve this? Is there a way to present the keys I have and look a clean key? I recognize that my purchase was just for an upgrade and not a clean install, but a clean install was the only way to work around this problem.

    What should I do?

    Try the following solution:

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13375-clean-install-Windows-8-upgrade.html

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.
