  • Windows 8 fails to update

I don't know much about how to do updates, except to allow Windows to automatically.  However, since the installation of Windows 8 on my computer about 3 weeks ago, I can't get the updates.  Computer through movements and then says that it has failed and needs to get back. I looked for easy answers to this problem online and frankly can't find someone who says they HAD the problem solved.  PS I ran troubleshooting twice, he says that the problem is resolved. I have tried several attempts without any internet connection problems. Thank you very much to anyone who can help me with really simple procedures.  :->

The answer is simple, I don't know how Microsoft itself does not know the answer. During the installation of windows and has been there for a while, immediately disable automatic updates.

The trick is to install the updates in chronological order, early first and last last.

When windows is done automatic install, I do not know the order of installation, but probably it gets the order wrong and all mess up

  • Windows Vista fails to update even though she says she did it.

I get the message trying to update Windows Vista.  I enable it and it seems to work fine.  Shortly, he says that he has the same updates.  It is as if he is not kept up-to-date, or least acknowledge that it has updated.

I looked for a solution and I came across something that may be a conflict, but am not sure.  I run a wireless HP printer and Vista had some issues with this.

Here are the updates of security, and I want to assure you that I have the latest versions.

It is possible that updates that you download where corrupted there are a few tools that can repair or remove them from the system so that you can redownlod them. Sometimes the file or drive may be hit if she isn't bad corrupt. I suggest that you BACK UP all your data. Here are some things that you can try the CHECKDISK, SCAN SFC

  • Windows 7 fail to update

For about 2 years now, I have been unable to get windows 7 to make THE updated manual and automatic. I tried the update Windows 8 to 10 and he REFUSES to do something. I looked at my events in the log and everything seems fine. I current defrags and ccleaner from Piriform (STRONGLY recommended in addition) Please help. I start thinking that it's either my computer, which is an EMachine, or is Windows itself.

I'm not personally a fan of ccleaner especially the characteristics of cleaning the registry.

But in any case you never did these steps before?

The manual installation of updates that you have to change your update settings to never check the updates and restart the machine first.

  • Portege R700 with Windows 7 64-bit: Windows Explorer fails to update

It happens regularly after using my laptop for a while (1 hour more?) that Windows Explorer is no longer refreshes one of its windows. EG., delete a file and it is always displayed and disappears only after pressing the refresh (F5) button.

Anyone who has had this experience, knows the problem, may suggest a solution (with the exception of maintenance by pressing F5 and possibly restart in frustration, which helps during some time)?

It's very strange. I tested it on my Win7 64 bit-Satellite P500. I ve open two windows explore with in the same place, so I got the same content in both entities. When I delete a file or folder in the left window the right showed immediately that certain document has disappeared.

I m really surprised that describes the problem may occur.

  • Failed to update Windows Vista

How can I remove the form to update the root by vista windows boot.
because the update 3 of 3 wil not complete and leave the computer restarts repeatedly.

    Hello guntherwerner,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum

You can access Mode without fail before the computer gets to the update process? Try pressing the F8 key during startup, and then click Mode safe mode with networking. Try to download the update specified manually by visiting http://download.microsoft.com and install the updates one at a time as a standalone update. If this does not work then try disabling the programs from the ordinary boot process by clicking Start > start the search box type msconfig then go to the Startup tab and disable all programs that you think might cause a problem. Remember that when you are finished with this process to restore your computer to its normal startup process less whatever program was causing the end if found.

Try the above steps and let us know if it helps to solve your problem.

  • Update Windows says that my updates failed, but the list of updates shows them as a success

Receipt of notice of updates of Windows. I opened the Control Panel of configuration/Windows Update screen and there was six recommended updates Important and two optional. I selected the six plus one option for Windows Live Add-in update. I installed updates and restarted my system. I checked the status of the installation of the system by opening the Control Panel of configuration/Windows Update screen. It showed that my updates failed, but when I click view update history, each of the update Important/recommended six succeeded. It there was no indication whether the Office Live Add-in was successful or not. Should I believe that the screen Control Panel of configuration/Windows Update that says my updates failed or should I believe the view update history which shows updates as a success.
