Windows 7 family pack upgrade works only on 2 computers

Some time ago I received a pack of upgrade of Windows 7 family (about 3 years ago) so I used it several times to install and activate windows 7, but taking care to have it only on 3 or less pcs at the same time (I went in fact never more than 2). I'm now trying to use again to activate my sisters newly built pc, finally using this magical third slot on this product key, but when I try to use the product key it says that this key can not be used on this computer.

It is a hard drive that it had already installed as it was in an HP laptop and I was fairly certain that, because I could not use the same product key on the laptop that I could put this key to use once more, but do an upgrade on the spot and then using the key. I noticed that all areas of the operating system that could have any hint of OEM, the chance to have a logo of HP and I think that this could be the problem but I'm not sure.

Sorry if it's a bit disorganized. I am not known in the art of asking for help online. If you need further clarification please just

I believe that when you try to activate, it will lead you to a phone number that you dial.  That leads you to a very long dialogue with a machine.  In this dialogue, you will be asked how many computers this activation code is in use.  Answer in your case is 2.  That should provide you with a very long numeric code is a time code activation for this computer.

  • Does resettlement as one of the three licenses with the Windows 7 Family Pack Upgrade?

I have installed without problem on two computers and you want to install on a third computer in the future after having finished building.

If I have reinstall it on one of the first two computers will I have troubles installing on the third?

How to keep track of how many times I've used this upgrade Microsoft?  Is it connected to the key that has the earlier version of Windows?  So I use the same three keys of Windows XP update will work even if I need to reinstall?

No, because this is the same computer, so it works very well. Unused facilities / additional licenses will not be exhausted.

  • Windows 7 Family pack

I bought a family pack of Windows 7 at Samsclub a few years ago, my question is, is it possible to know how many times I installed it? I think that only 2, but I don't know and I'm building a new machine for my daughter for homeschooling my granddaughter and I just need to know, any help would be very useful, thank you

Unfortunately not, but please also note, the Windows 7 Family Pack is an upgrade license and cannot be used for own installation without a qualifying previous version license.

  • Cannot activate the 3rd computer with Windows 7 Family pack

I have three computers and all were running licensed copied of Vista. I bought the "Family Pack" upgrade to Windows 7. I have implemented customized installs on all machines - no problem. Activate the first two online perfectly. The third party will not activate so I used the method of the phone. The automated waiting requires the 9 key series of 6 figures and said so I have to answer the questions. The first question is "how many computers have you installed this license on? The answers will take you to a report that says: "we're sorry, but you do not meet the requirements of this license." I am invited to stay online to get help and the system is then said "we cannot help you at this time, please call back."

I tried 12 times over a period of three days - all times of day and night. Same result. I don't know of any way around that. I know that I have 30 days to activate, but I don't want to wait.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Greg

Try to say 2 when asked how many computers have you installed license on.  Maybe it's that this license is not installed until after you enable.  Just a thought.

Please note that the family pack is an upgrade.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • This site sells Windows 7 family pack for $100.00. Is - is this legitimate?

I have three PCs I would like to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium.  I was interested to buy the Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack, which includes three licenses to upgrade in my opinion.  I found a site selling it here:

    http://www.onlinedigitalitems.com/Windows-Windows-7-Home-Premium-Family-Pack/product/70FF9A4E?&affiliate_id=225523754&ad_code=16440075546266

selling the product for $100, which was quite a bit cheaper than the other sites.  I wrote to them.  They said that it is a product of download only and they send you a key, which I assume would work three times.  I was wondering if the site was legitimate or if it was some kind of scam site?

Also, I think I saw that the family pack is not supported.  Is this true?  Thanks for any help.

Too good to be true normal price is $179 and you get the support 32-bit and 64-bit DVD (not downloadable). Product key is located on a card inside the box and is good for 3 activations and you have the right to support: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/14019

  • Windows 7 family pack (3) license - Windows 10

What happens to my purchased retail license for a 'family pack' of three licenses of Windows 7, if I 'upgrade' one of the computers is installed in Windows 10.

When I bought this license, I bought also the rights of re - install this on another computer, as long as there are no more than three at a point in time.  As far as I could tell, ya no limits to it in many times I can do that, or time.  There is activation code that one only for three licenses, or in other words, a single license for 3 computers.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software of of that upgrade

When I install a preinstalled (OEM) or the retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 Windows 10 license, this license OEM to remain or become a retail license?

If you upgrade an OEM or retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 for the free Windows 10 update this summer, the license is consumed in it. Because the free update is derived from the basic qualification license, Windows 10 will be that too many licenses.

If you are upgrading a retail version, it carries the rights to a commercial version.

If you upgrade an OEM version, it carries the rights of an OEM version.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM:

OEM of Windows versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

What happens if I change my motherboard?

This would cancel the upgrade of Windows 10 license because he no longer a previous eligible license, which is required for the free update. Then, you will need to purchase a Windows 10 full retail license.

  • Windows 7 Family Pack / XP question

Hi, I recently started work in a church and his computer has been very slow.  After having someone to inspect, the hard drive was not in good condition.  We replaced and now upgraded to Windows 7, because that prior to this post, I bought a set of improvements that was good for three computers.  Old hard drive of the Church had XP but I can't upgrade the clean disk without some type of program Windows on it (don't think on this issue before you buy new hard drive).  Is there a way I can use the Windows 7 upgrade package, without having to buy a new version, because we had to XP on the old hard drive?

Thank you and look forward to your response.

    Terry

In fact, you cannot use any facilities of this Upgrade License family on the computer of the Church; It is used under license strictly on 3 computers in the same physical household.

If you (or your church) has lost the original installation of WinXP license and the drive that were initially installed on this computer, you will need to either buy a full license (and not an upgrade), or to seek the gift of one.
