Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit (5-7minutes) extremely slow stop.

Even with starting clean and all, but Microsoft services and start open with the exception of Kaspersky antivirus.  Does anyone know what whether I can do to fix this?

Hiya Hula_Baloo!
Thanks for the quick response.   I was diggin through this question for weeks.  I did all the settings of 'base' watch/settings I could think in normal maintenance standards.  I've been excavatin' a microsoft tech support site and found a tweak for the registry values.  I made the mistake of registry cleaners and others in the past, and am guilty of system mechanic pro but this problem started there before all these changes.  I found that my problem seems to be solved with this step.

Take a look at the following registry location
-Click on the Start button
-in the search box, type in regedit.exe
-right click on regedit.exe, select '' run as administraor. ''
-in the main menu click the submenu "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE."
-Click on the submenu 'System '.
-Click on the submenu for 'CurrentControlSet '.
-Click on the submenu 'control '.
-Click on the submenu for "Session Manager".
-Click on "memory management".
-a screen should appear to the right
-Right-click on the "ClearPageFileAtShutdown".
-Click on edit and in the value of the data if it is set to 1 to 0

It seemed to work for but now I would like to know if anyone out there can explain exactly what I changed and why.  Thank you
