  It is still under warranty.  Talk to Sony, it looks like a graphics problem.  They will have to replace the motherboard if the graphic chipset is integrated.

  As others have had I install the new graphics card, the 960 Asus GTX card that came out last month and the system start gives about 3 beeps in about 30 seconds and then it goes to a screen that is black with a blinking cursor and nothing else happens. cannot enter bios or settings for HP...

  I tried to disable UEFI boot devices in bios settings and enable only the legacy devices (after him swinging back on my original card, then move on to the new card), but it still gives 3 beeps after the start.   However, I was able to get into windows.   You need update the BIOS that is listed under Windows 8 to support the new graphics.   You must upgrade to Windows 8 or temporarily install Windows 8, you can install the update to the BIOS.  While there may be other ways to install the BIOS update, clearly having Windows 8 running will be the safest way.  8 BIOS version is your best chance to get the latest graphics cards to work.

  You can Windows 8 Enterprise 90 days trial.

  If you decide to install W8, then create external recovery HP Media and backup your data before doing anything.

  The reality is that there is no guarantee that any particular graphics card will work in any particular PC, even if the graphics card works in other PC or even the same or similar model PCs. Know what the return policy is before you buy.

  Thanks for your help - but I just found out the problem. In the advanced sharing settings, I forgot to select Enable turn off password protected sharing. The second I chose no-all the files and folders that I set to share on the Windows 7 system became available.

What don't get me, is why HP installs some old graphics chips in a new laptop. in any case, I want to see what I can put in the new card. I really want to install and Nvidia 650 m, but I don't know because I don't have any information on my motherboard and it is manufactured by HP. Why I want to improve it is because that 1.) This chip sucks and can't play the games of 2005 and more than 2). He cannot run newer games like I'm a player PC of BF3. I get a strong brand of 28 FPS on BF3-ultimate low quality on this game, he reached sometimes 30 but not much. I want this thing to run as good as my game desktop computer that is custom built, so I really want to know what works with this laptop.

  I am trying to upgrade the graphics card OEM in my Mac Pro 2006 to a Radeon HD 4870 1 GB graphics card.  I have big problems.  The previous owner recommended that my BONES 10.7.5 uninstalling and reinstalling.  I don't know how to do this.  The Apple website was no help with this issue.  The previous owner gave me a lot of procedures I've ever done before, including removing and re-creation of my RAM and using a Kext troubleshooting application.  Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

  a 4870 with 1 GB of VRAM is not a real Mac card (who had only 512 MB of VRAM). Unlikely to show an image until the login screen, if ever. Unless the seller has a 100% guaranteed working procedure to get this working, I recommend you return for a refund - it is not likely to work in your Mac.

  A true 5770 Mac or 5870 is the best approach for a 2006 or 2007 Mac Pro, because they are known to work with everything except movies under copyright, and your Mac is stuck in the 32-bit kernel and pre - 10.7.5 MacOS.

  The choice of nVidia or Intel HD 4000 graph means that there is a different motherboard. I think that the motherboard with the Intel chip is not having a dedicated graphics (nVidia or ATI) and use only the graphics chip integrated into the processor which is the Intel HD 4000 processors Ivy Bridge (HD 3000 on Sandy Bridge ones). If you choose the option with the nVidia graphics card, it will have a graphics chip dedicated (with its own graphics memory XGB of DDR3/5) and you can choose (in the BIOS or using Nvidia Optimus) between two graphics cards because the Intel HD 4000 will always be there as part of the CPU.

  I don't think you can upgrade the graphics card later because the card is soldered to the motherboard and the only option how update the graphics card is to replace the motherboard with a more powerful graphics chip already on it.

  The option with the nVidia chip will be more expensive but worth it because the graphics card from nVidia is more powerful than the Intel HD 4000.
