Windows 7 Home premium eddition quick change of user strange behavior

About two weeks ago fast user switching has stopped working properly on my system. He worked always go and suddenly after a reboot started working in a different way.

We have two users, user A and B

If A use is connected and selects 'Switch User' system back to what looks like the lock screen. The user then needs to hit the user button once again and then it shows the icons of small users, but only "user A and 'Another User' '

Therefore the user must click on "Other user" and then enter the username and password of user B

I don't know what has changed or why he has changed, but I can't seem to find someone with the same behavior. Any ideas?

Hello

As the Group Policy Editor is not available in the Home Premium from Windows 7 version, the other way of disabling it is through the registry editor.

Important: this article contains information about how to edit the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you edit it. Make sure you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up, restore, and modify the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Back up the registry

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

(a) click Start, type regedit.exe in the find dialog box or run and press enter.

(b) access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows------CurrentVersion------policies------system

(c) creates a DWORD (32-bit) value named HideFastUserSwitching with a right click on the right side of the editor and choice New > DWORD(32bit) value.

(d) define data HideFastUserSwitching to 0 to disable the fast user switching.

(e) in the future if you want to enable the fast user switching, set data HideFastUserSwitchingto 1.

After, log to see the changes. Fast user switching should be crippling after completing the steps above.

  • Can I use Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack (3 users) to install Windows 7 Edition home premium 64 on a desktop computer running the OEM version of Windows Vista Home Premium 32?

My desktop system is an Acer E700 Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and 1 Gig video running Vista Home Premium OEM 32 version. I plan to upgrade the hard disk of 1 tetrabyte before upgrading the OS.  If so, how should I do this?  I have to restore the backup to disk to the new disk before update for Window 7 64?

My second office is already running Vista Home Premium 64 so this upgrade using the family must be right before correct?  Or do I need to backup to the subject programs before moving to Win7 64?

    Thanks in advance.

You will need to do a reformat to perform installation and you reinstall the applications.  There has never been a way to upgrade from x 86 to x 64.  You will need to do is use your x 64 media to install Windows 7 on new hard drive, use your product key on the certificate of authenticity located on the side of the Acer desktop computer.  You will always be the OEM license terms, as you install the same Windows SKU.  Product keys are interchangeable between x 86 and x 64, but you will probably need to call to activate Windows after installation - usually the Internet activation does not work on current versions of Windows using the seller great modes of action.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card

I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.

    1. I will be able to perform a clean install by reformatting the drive?
    2. is there a Toshiba utility, which will find all drivers for Windows 7?
    3. what Toshiba drivers must be installed for Windows 7 succeed?
    4. is there an update to Bios necessary for the machine to work on Windows 7?

    Thank you.

    Matt

    Hey Buddy,

    > 1. I'll be able to perform a clean install by reformatting the drive?
If you buy an upgrade disc, you can t do a clean install. With a upgrade disk, you can only upgrade Vista to Windows 7.

    > 2. Is there a utility from Toshiba, which will find all drivers for Windows 7?
No, you must do it yourself.

    > 3. Toshiba drivers are required to be installed for Windows 7 succeed?
All the drivers you need can be downloaded from the Toshiba U.S. page where is your laptop model:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com > download > laptops > Satellite > Satellite P305-S8820

    > 4. Y at - it an update of the necessary Bios for machine work on Windows 7?
No, the BIOS update has nothing to do with the operating system and if everything is ok with your laptop don t make an update of the BIOS. It is not important if you have a serious problem that can be solved with the BIOS update.

  • Install Windows 7 Pro key on Windows 7 Home Premium

Building a new computer, buy Windows 7 Pro OEM. The user has previous computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premium OEM.

The user does not want to have to reinstall all the programs previously, the installation program, then we go to existing Windows 7 sysprep/image. This triggers the wake on the new machine. We have a new OEM license for the new machine, but it's for the Pro instead of HP. Is there a way to fix this?

Make your Windows 7 HP image restore, then test it.  Then go to Pro.

Assuming your sysprep image / & your imaging utility can face the task to restore on the new hardware & Windows 7 this is why works correctly on the TI *, your level then activation using the Pro product key {see the procedure below published by André} should allow all components to Windows 7 Pro.

[* I urge you to register running Windows update to your original HP-system test so that you can enter activation Pro stage knowing that this critical element is fully functional.]

When you test after activation Pro can't find any problems, but if you do, they might well be fixed by running a repair [aka InPlace upgrade] install using your Pro installation CD.

  • Wallpaper changes automatically after the computer restarts in Windows 7 Home Premium.

Original title: Windows wallpaper change and the creation of new theme when the computer starts.

    Hello everyone!

I had a problem of late with my brand new computer. Whenever I have connection or restart my computer, Windows 7 Home Premium past my wallpaper by himself to a wallpaper I had before, I deleted. When I right click and go to personalize, itmade its own unsaved theme . I delete the theme, select the theme that I wanted, close the window and it will return to normal for the length of time connected. However, even once, when I restart the computer or reconnect after I disconnect, he made this wholeagain!

Does anyone have any idea why it would do that?

    Data sheet:

    • ASUS G73JH-A1
    • Windows 7 Home Premium
    • Intel Core i7 720QM
    • ATI Radeon 5870
    • When you play a game, the computer uses about 1-2% CPU.

    Hey Jake Root,

    a. using a laptop or a desktop computer? There are times that your laptop battery is low and the screen goes to the basic theme.

    b. your computer was pre-installed with Windows 7?

    c. do you have a software preinstalled on your computer?

Your computer manufacturer might have installed something that is responsible for customization of the office and the change of paper painted. check what is running in a context (it may have an icon in the taskbar notification area). If this is responsible for customization change its settings, disable it or uninstall it.

In the meantime, you can follow the below methods:

    Method 1:

    1. click on start, in the search box, enter %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes ------(you will find files there are two: TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and slideshow.ini)
    2. open slideshow.ini > delete its content > save changes

    3. delete TranscodedWallpaper.jpg (you can substitute your own file of this name)

    4 reboot your system

    5. try to change the desktop background (right-click on the desktop > personalize > wallpaper)

    Method 2:

You can place your computer in a clean boot State and check.

There could be a possibility that a third-party application conflicts and the problem occurs.
