Windows 7 Internet Time update registry hack and RealTimeIsUniversal (UTC)

I think I discovered a problem with the internet time synchronization when RealTimeIsUniversal registry key is set to 'true '.

In a default of Windows Setup, the time clock (RTC) real is supposed to be in local time. If you synchronize to one hour of the internet server in this default configuration, once the time is synchronized Windows will rewrite the exact time in the CMOS RTC as expected.
However, if the RTC is in hour UTC and you have activated the key RealTimeIsUniversal, the exact time is is more written in the CMOS RTC after the internet time synchronization. You can still synchronize to an internet time server and the time will display properly for a short period, but time is not written in the CMOS and usually less an hour the nucleus will be re-read (incorrect) the CMOS RTC time and your stay will be distributed. There seems to be no way to get the correct time from a time server to write in the CMOS RTC.
Is it possible to fix this so that the exact time is written to the RTC when you set to use UTC?

Hey doctor Gonzo,

I think that Rohit was trying to help out you, and your question is a comment of developer-oriented. Such questions are better suited for the Microsoft TechNet site. I pulled the link for you and found a good article to start.
Microsoft does not support the change, the registry key because the results could be so harmful if a mistake has been made. Just felt that it was important to say. Thanks for posting of Microsoft Answers!

  • Remove Windows XP & Internet Explorer updates

I want to clean my hard drive and want to know if I can remove Windowns XP and Internet Explorer updates with the utility add / remove programs in the control panel?

If you remove the updates, you remove the patches so make your computer vulnerable.

Instead, you can - delete the old - uninstall information

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.

How can I delete an email without sending a confirmation to this account?  My hotmail account has been hacked and they have added an additional email address to recover passwords for security.  To remove the address, the only apparent is to send a confirmation email to the address I want to delete.  It is counterproductive.  I have a password, but if they can obtain the information via another email address, my account is never going to be safe.   I got this address for a long time and do not want to lose.  However, he begins to feel that my only option is to go with another provider.

I have good internet connection and any other program can download and upload.

I had a service technician install Windows 10 (had updated Windows 7 and computer Note: ok for upgrading), which was a very early version.  This Windows 10 would not get either any upgrade.  So I went back to the factory installed Windows 7 (Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 of 2011 time period, I bought computer in August 2011).  This is where I am now and receive no updates.

Before installing Windows 10 I've done several reverts to the original version of Windows 7 installed in the factory and then updated without problem.

What could be the problem now?  Windows 10 has done something?  Thanks for any help.

The return of Win10 process often fails to properly Win7.  Do this restore to factory again.  Then, after the re - install go here to find out how to start Windows updates.  I know it works.  I do it every day and we just started today.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate would update, reset everything and he lost my computer, how can I recover?

I noticed that I had updates ready to install and need to restart my computer, so I clicked on the update computer and turn off.

He did the updates, then stop. I turned it back on and it makes more updates.

When he returned to the top, I logged on my user account in the same way I always have, the other accounts where there also, so it doesn't reset user accounts.

In any case, I noticed my son on the bottom image was not there, so looked around and looks like it resets everything completely.

My documents are all gone, my downloads, pictures, everything.

Is it possible to restore it?

Please let me know. I lost years of stored files.

    Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

If you can't find a file on your computer or you accidently modified or deleted a file, you can restore from a backup (if you are using the Windows backup utility) or you can try to restore a previous version. Previous versions are copies of files and folders that Windows automatically saves as part of a restore point. Previous versions are sometimes referred to as snapshots.

I suggest to read the following article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
    Recover lost or deleted files

    I hope this information helps.

  • Impossible to attach Windows 10 laptop computer to the Internet via cable USB iPhone 5 c after update to iTunes and iPhone (March 2016)

    System information:

    Tactile Lenovo Y50-70

Construction of 10.0.10586 of Windows 10-10586

    iPhone 5 c - iOS 9.2.1

    iTunes - 12.3.2.35 / 64-bit

    Cell carrier: Etisalat AF

Last year in Afghanistan, I have used my iPhone 5 c to attach my laptop to the internet simply by connecting via USB.  It has always worked.  Was very simple.  When I returned to the States for R & R in November 2015, I've updated my iPhone and iTunes to the latest versions and upgrades Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

I am now back in Afghanistan and USB tethering no longer works.  WiFi tethering works half the time.  The other half of the time, when I try and connect to the network of the iPhone, it is said, you cannot connect to this network.  When I can't connect to the phone, I disable the personal hotspot, WiFi and Bluetooth on the phone and then I turn it back on.  I also turn off my WiFi adapter on my laptop and turn it back on.  Which usually solves the problem and then I can connect via WiFi.

Do some research on the internet, I read that there was a file corrupted when the current generation of iTunes, but Apple had set and you just need to reinstall the current version, which I did.  I have reinstalled iTunes by suggestions from different site.  After reinstalling iTunes and restart, I can always have my phone to connect to internet via the USB cable.

I want to be able to connect my laptop to the internet using my phone via the USB cable.  I want it all works just as it did previously.  Connection via WiFi is a pain in the ass, because it does not work half the time and disconnects on a regular basis.

Please tell us what should I do to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

OK, I finally understand how to solve this problem.

I was able to understand because of this post:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/message/29267225#29267225

The problem is that Windows 10 was not install appropriate drivers for my iPhone.

You can see 2 places to see.  We're in the control panel.  After you plug in your iPhone, the iPhone will be displayed and highlighted as not having is not a compatible driver.  The other place is in "Devices and printers", there you will see 3 apple devices: 1 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, iPhone 2, and 3. Apple iPhone.  All three appear when I plugged in my iPhone.

However, the problem was one that said iPhone really should have said "Apple Mobile Device Ethernet".

    So, how to fix this?

Open devices and printers-> right click Iphone which should be under "Unscpecified"-> properties-> hardware-> Propterties tab-> change settings-> tab driver-> update driver-> Browse my computer for software Local-> Browse to the directory "C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support".

Make sure you have the files box to include under verified.

Who did.  Windows successfully installed the necessary drivers.  Now, I can easily connect to the internet via the USB cable again without any problems.

    Hello

    Yes, you are right.

Note: serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows)
