  charity, that I work has a laptop Acer Aspire bought new and running Windows 7 (purchase pre installed software).   According to the report that you have posted, you should not see a non-genuine problem - the report is clean.

  If you are indeed to see a non-genuine notification, then is that from time to time, or is this all the time?

  If it is present only from time to time, you have a race condition - and those can be a nightmare to solve, because they disappear as soon as you look at :) They are often caused by antivirus programs in conflict with other programs running

  If it is there all the time, then try the following.

  Vista license store is perhaps damaged or its data can be ruined somehow. Please try the steps below to re-create the store with the correct data.

  (1) open an Internet browser window.
  (2) type: %windir%\system32 in the browser's address bar.
  (3) find the CMD.exe file
  (4) make a right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
  (5) type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)
  (6) type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
  (7) type: Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat
  (8) type: cd %windir%\system32

  HP Pavilion dm4 my daughter recently started to take about 10-15 minutes to start, tell me that he had become infected by something questionable. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, with AVG free anti-virus.

  When we noticed the problem first, AVG has been disabled (probably by malware), and I could not turn it back on. He would not run a scan at all. I have scanned it with Norton Power Eraser and their free bootable scanner, nor identified any problems. I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode, and it found several files associated with Yontoo, which he deleted. I ran ccleaner, including the registry cleaner. At this time, AVG was returned to service, so I ran a full scan with it. AVG found several files associated with OpenCandy, which he deleted. A scan later Malwarebytes came clean.

  For now, the system seems to work fine, EXCEPT: there are still a huge amount of time to start - several minutes between each step. And now, the desktop appear intermittently a message which reads: "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".

  I found a lot of discussion online about this error message, but it seems that each of them (which I reviewed) has a different twist to what I feel.

  Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks in advance.

My story starts when I had a virus on my laptop, I have tried everything that you try to restore to an earlier date, f8 and all but did not succeed. Then I went to format my laptop. Then I formatted my laptop and typed in my product key found on the back of the laptop. everything was fine until today my phone disabled certain functions and the corner saying im 'build 7600 7 window this window is not genuine' not quite sure what I can do to solve this problem, as the laptop computer was purchased with Windows 7 installed.   Thanks to all for trying to help. Ive called Microsoft and they said there is nothing can be done outside to call ASUS and get a recovery cd window 7. After that I have to format the laptop with this cd. The reason is that the cd I used is not compatible with the product key. So now, I have to buy a recovery cd window Asus and wait more than a week for them to send it to me. In addition to this, I was able to backup everything on my laptop. A lot of waste of time.
