I understand that I am under a 64 bit OS, but is it possible to get this program to run? I was wondering if anyone has tips :)

    Hi Bcopeland,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Based on the information, you are trying to install and use an old ms - dos program based in Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit.

The problem is a software that was created for Windows 95, 98, and Windows XP has no way to work correctly with an operating system that didn't even exist when the software was written. However, the error message you get normally means that you have a 32-bit software that you are trying to install on a 64-bit system.

You can check the compatibility of the program with Windows 7, in the Compatibility Center.

    Compatibility Center

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    a. click right on the program.

    b. click Properties.

    c. click on the tab compatibility.

    d. Select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever to use the system, the program was executed successfully.

Here is an article that gives you more information on this:

Make older programs in this version of Windows

If the problem persists, you can get in touch with the software vendor to see for the latest version of the program to use the same system of 64-bit Windows 7.

    Hope the helps of information.

Tried to run as administrator, did not work. I don't want to uninstall FF, at least have to because of all the things I have here, bookmarks, last past passwords, etc..

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files (not the profile folder, where the bookmarks are stored) and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • Tecra S2: BIOS 1.3 is not compatible with Windows Vista

I just bought Windows Vist Ultimate and I tried to install it on my tecra laptop S3 and it said that I had to update my bios. so I've upgraded to the latest version on the toshiba site (v1.3), but I got the same message please provide an upgrade of the bios that is compatible for my computer vista laptop or provide where I can find the update.

    Hello

Pilot site Toshiba says that the 1.3 BIOS Tecra S2 was released on 06/19/2006
It seems that it s not a final version of Vista and therefore it s is not compatible with Vista.

Unfortunately, everything that you expect the Vista installation until the new version of the BIOS is available.

  • What can I do when Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller is not compatible with Windows 7?

I have a gateway C - 140 X for a good 2 years and I find always the best of the class. The current version is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.  The upgrade path should be got Windows 7 Ultimate, which, incidentally, should some sort of reduction but I understand he must make an economic profit.

I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta .

Report all gave his go-ahead, but one Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller by Texas Instruments Inc. device is not compatible with Windows 7. So I can't upgrade once the device is compatible.

The obvious answer is to consult the website of the manufacturer of Texas Instruments or gateway OEM.
The gateway OEM does not help because it has stopped supporting once he sold to MPC, which then went bankrupt while the drivers are available on the gateway site to download only for Windows Vista.
Looking at the site of Texas Instrument is a maze leading to difficulty finding support on the device in question. I'll try to contact the support from them, but what do I do? I mean the device is able to run Vista and other Texas Instruments products are compatible but just the card reader.

If you tell me to new contact the third party or the manufacturer's website, then I ask that you give me the link to the support or the driver.

I tried to control the Windows 7 Compatibility Center , but it is not upward.

    I got it.

After the upgrade from 32-bit Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit of Windows 7 Ultimate that required me to do a clean install. I prefer clean install because it is sure that everything works. Yet once I was pounded by an unmanned aircraft. In the hardware Manager, he has been shown as a mass storage controller. I forgot my card reader and more worried about trying to get the driver for the mass storage controller because it seemed important to something. Then I let down, but after a few days, I looked around the same instance in the forums which turns out be my card reader. I went back to the drivers from the website of the gateway for card reader Driver .

I just installed the Vista driver and now it works. Everything on my computer now works with Windows 7 64 bit by going to manufacturers for devices. Broadcom Bluetooth.
    Wired and wireless from Intel.
    Mass of Intel storage.
The rest was from Windows Update, check all out them.

The only thing I feel crazy is that send to Onenote 2007 is not compatible with 64 bit OS and the strength to wait for the next version of Office for it to work.

In addition to what Azam offered, you may try the following:

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com), or any other software virtualization part 3rd and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. Use the following steps:

    (1) right click on the program

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

    This can help you:

    http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links

You can contact Fujitsu and ask them to send you a set of Vista recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

    http://www.Fujitsu.com/SG/products/PC/support/drivers/recovery_faq.html

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Installation of Windows 7 was able to destroy this Option:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I found the tips that you may need to uninstall the battery Toshiba BT of the system... also remove BT drivers in Device Manager (if possible)
After that, restart the laptop and clean the registry with CCleaner tool.

Restart again and install the battery Toshiba BT as well as the packet filter driver BT...
Filter for the BT driver package is necessarily part of BT software because most laptops use the WLan/BT combo card.

After having recently updated of my laptop for windows 10 I discovered that the dvd player does not work. A message is displayed informing that the player is not compatible with this version of windows. A scan using Norton suggests dvd will not work because it needs to be configured.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Obviously, Toshiba DVD playback application that is preinstalled on this Satellite A500 model is not compatible with the system Windows 10.

In this case this software will not properly work after the upgrade to win 10 and I guess you have to remove the system Win 10.

Unfortunately, the Satellite A500 is not listed as Win 10 portable computers and so I don't think you will get an update to this software for DVD playback.
