Windows 8 has limited connectivity to any network

Hello

I run a problem that I have not met before with Windows 8. A few days ago my computer started crashing shortly after the start. I ran a few included Diagnostics which revealed that there is a problem with the RAM, and found and replaced the bad stick. This seems to have solved the problem of crash. Since this, however, as the internet Wi - Fi and connections are displayed in limited form. I am sure that this is not a problem with the router, as I can well connect with several other devices. It seems strange to me that this would be a hardware problem, because both the ethernet port and the wireless card appear to have been affected, and I see again all the networks wireless in the region.

I tried the solutions posted here without success, but also reinstall the drivers for the wireless card. I don't know what other information would be useful for this, but I'll try to post it as it is requested. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello

Thank you for the update.

I suggest you try to put the Internet Explorer automatically detect network settings and check if the problem persists.

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the Tools button , and then select options Internet.
  3. Go to the connections tab and click LAN settings.
  4. Tick the box 'automatically detect connection settings.
  5. Restart internet explore.

Hope this information is useful. Please post back your results for assistance.

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. you receive an error message or error code?
    3. What is the number of brand and model of your computer?

    4. who is the ISP?

    Method 1:

See wireless and wired network connection problems in Windows:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

Method 2: You can also temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem persists. Be sure to enable this security software on the computer after checking.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

Uninstall and reinstall the network adapter driver.

Step 1: uninstall the network adapter driver.

    a. open the Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
    c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. find the network device based on the option of the network card, right-click on it and select uninstall.
    d. restart the computer.

Step 2: Download the latest network card driver on the manufacturer's Web site and install it on your computer.

The presence of the "169" address indicates that your printer is not able to get an IP address from your DHCP server.  Check the network settings in the printer.

    Hi omsaini,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Sorry to hear that you have to connect to a wireless network adapter trouble.

To help you further on this subject, it would have been really helpful for us if you had

mentioned a few details such as:

    (1) is there an error message you get when you try to connect to the internet?
    (2) is the persistent problem with all browsers installed on the machine?
    (3) what is the brand and the type of the network adapter (whether ADSL or an adapter included)?

However, there are a few steps that we can try first:

    a. the following link has a very good tutorial on how to install a network adapter on the computer:

Recently, it does not connect to the internet, and I get the message "no connection available.

When I go to network and sharing Center, I get the message "currently not connected to any network.

Until a few days before, everything was fine.  The only thing that may have changed, was an automatic

    update windows.

I called HP support, and they offer a fix for a price.  Is this the only option I have?

    Help!

PS My laptop is connected to the same network and works fine

Thank you for the additional information.

I am not sure, but I don't think that there is a wireless switch on the keyboard there is on most laptops.  This is considered as a desktop computer.

Have you updated the driver wireless?  This may solve your problem.

As a last resort, you may need to perform a system recovery.  This will take the computer to its original configuration.  You should back up your personal data if you decide to go this route.  I do this at least once a year.  He always makes the computer run better.

  • You are not currently connected to any networks

I have an acer aspire 5552 with windows 7. I have upgraded to windows 10 but because I could not fully access to my LAN, I went back to windows 7. Now windows 7 says I'm not connected to any network, while the cards are there and their settings can be changed. No network appear in the network and sharing Center. The status of the local network adapter and the wireless adapter is not connected, IPv4 and IPv6 not connected. I reloaded the drivers for 2 adapters but no change. I really want to go back to the factory State.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you revomaxx.

the solution proved to be the associated firewall. I use comodo firewall. When I unchecked the comodo selection in the network card settings, everything worked all of a sudden. I then reinstalled comodo and all was fixed.

  • Extremely low signal wireless unable to connect to any network

    Hello

I bought just a Studio 1535 and can not get the wireless to connect to any network unless I put the computer 2 feet or closer to the router.

I am running Vista Home Premium, and according to the Device Manager my wireless is a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini card.

When I'm right next to a router, I can connect either password protected or not.  Also, I have other computers can connect to each network without any problems.  I know that this is not a router problem.  I tried with several different routers and several different locations.

I can see a long list of points connect wireless, each with what reads like excellent signal.  However, when I tell the computer to connect, I get a screen "Windows cannot connect to the ____."  When I select diagnose the problem, it says "Wireless association failed because windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router.

Dell support will not help me because I bought the computer at Best Buy and Geek Squad wants to send my computer is turned off (which I had for a day) to be diagnosed.  I would rather here check everything first...

Thanks to all helpers, let me know what information you need from me!

  • Satellite L40: Windows Vista unable to connect to the network

My Satellite L40 laptop was connecting to my network wireless perfectly since Christmas. But two days ago, it stopped! I can see the networks available on the laptop but when I try to connect I get the message "Windows cannot connect to the network. Following the link to "Diagnose the problem" has no useful effect.
I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 yesterday to try to solve the problem, but always without success.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Select this option.

    Hello

Please go to the drivers Toshiba download page and download the latest Wlan driver for your wireless card installed, then remove the old driver and install a new one. It should work.

Otherwise, you should try to recover your entire system and replace the drivers installed by some more recent...

  • inabilty sudden to connect to any network

My second laptop to vista SP2 will be no longer connect to the internet via any network - have tried wireless and LAN, secured and unsecured.

It will connect to the network itself, but nothing else - cannot ping other IP address on the network, DNS servers, etc.  Also, I can not connect to host IP of the router to set the parameters.

No configuration changes lately, regular mcafee and up-to-date analysis.  I left a night scan with an auto-stop last night, have had connection since the turn it back on after that problem.

I tried the factory reset default on my primary network, did not help.  When I restored the security settings, I enabled MAC controls and typed the physical address of the wireless router, did not help.  Also, I tried not secure networks in my area that I used before troubleshooting, but get the same results.  Another computer works normally on all networks.

I guess that's a problem with the networking or security settings, but diagnosis/repair tools just told me that they detected a problem that cannot be repaired automaticallys.  Disabling the firewall did not help either.

    What else should I try?

  • New just installed Windows Vista, unable to connect to wireless networks

So a few months ago my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6) fell from my bed and the hard drive was messed up, so I'm a computer geek friend to replace my hard drive and put a new operating system on it, he had no activation key. In any case, after I came back it was working fine and I was able to use the internet by connecting to public networks, but every time I would connect to my computer it asked me to activate it. And finally I got so bored with being bugged that I decided to buy a new product key, so that he'd stop bugging me. So I bought a new Windows Vista Home premium operating system and when I received it in the mail, I installed correctly and put in the product key and active it and all that much good but whenever I try to connect to the internet that it says "Windows cannot find wireless networks" and when I click on "Diagnose this problem" he says "this computer does not have an install_ adapter of» configured wireless network. and then it gives me options troubleshooting that brings me at all because most of them consist in some way to update my drivers online, but I can't online my laptop to update! and all the other solutions are just confused. Is there a reason why my "driver" would stop working AFTER you install Windows Vista? Or is there some way I can uninstall the operating system and just use the one I had before? Help please!

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

  • Windows 7 Pro cannot connect to the network when idle too long (large company)

We have approximately 75 users on Windows 7 Professional.  About two weeks ago (and the next day, Windows updates have been deployed to all PCs in our outside IT), the vast majority of users (but not all) have started to have a problem in what they can connect first thing in the morning; However, they immediately get an error that are not connected to the network, that network drives can be connected, they cannot access the internet, etc.  A reboot solves problems and the problem will not recur until the computer is left idle during the night.  Our outside IT says that what is happening on several client sites that they manage, but they have no idea of the cause; they are theorizing that it's maybe a botched Windows Update.  I have Windows 7 Pro at home and did not have the problem once.  Any suggestions appreciated.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN
