Windows 8 Legal Question

Hello world

I have an old Alienware m9750 who finally died on me. When I bought the laptop, it came with Windows Vista. I have then updated for Windows 7 Ultimate and shortly after to Windows 8 Ultimate. Can I remove my hard drive and use Windows 8 on my new computer was delivered without an operating system installed on it or the operating system dies with the computer?. I'm assuming that the pre-installed Windows Vista was an OEM version or the manufacturer.

Thank you so much for answering me.

The fact is, at the end of the day, as well the Windows 7 Ultimate edition and Windows 8 Pro is updated and they depend on the original qualification license which was OEM for Windows Vista that came with this laptop. The transfer of rights does not apply to Vista, it does for Windows 7 and 8, but they are updated, which means, the new computer without OS must have a license of previous qualification.

This transfer is possible and you might try the activation of the phone, but is not a guarantee:

1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

2. then press the ENTER"" key.

3. Select your "country" in the list.

4. choose the option "activate phone".

5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.
