Windows 8 "Windows Update" absent from the list of 'change PC settings.

When I first upgraded to Win 7 to Win 8, there was a "Windows Update" entry as last element in "PC settings" when I used the charm of parameters.

It is more listed.

If I search for Windows Update and click on the tile which is, he spends "PC settings" page but display a "Page not found" error message.

No idea how to solve this problem?

This is the second time it happened to me, the first, I thought that I could of got a virus or something. So I did a refresh and the problem was solved. But I remember correctly install a program the first time (I don't remember the name), and then links to certain parameters were missing.
I know I probably have réactualisiez, because there is no viable solution available at this time. But refreshing should NOT be the solution. Because from what I see, it is not limited to a single program. So it means that the issue could occur for a variety of program installs. It is devastating and it is one will not install anything for fear of the question happening.

I also hesitate to install new programs, as the refreshment of the PC 'solution' is no solution at all and I am less enthusiastic to spend all my time to 'fix' things when they worked perfectly well on Windows 7.

Once again, I think that MS has a major problem here and surprised that it did not fall in beta as most of the things I do on my PC is quite conventional.

I will continue to follow this thread to see if there is any progress or enter additional to help isolate the problem.

I discovered that patches of restoration of windows the problem, better than the discount. But not yet the real difficulty that is needed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones uninstalled completely absent from the list of uninstalled App World app

    Hello

Recently, I uninstalled an application _by accident_, and now it has completely disappeared from the list even uninstalled my world.

When I go to the app in the App World, I see the app, but there is no icon to install or reinstall.

How to bring back the app?

    The app is http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/1222/

It should be "uninstalled" on this screen.

    1. open the App World
    2. go to my world
    3. to focus on the BB keyboard - hold down the ALT key and press "RST."
    4. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

Now, back to AppWorld > MyWorld > uninstalled. It is now clearly listed and able to reinstall?

    Hi all

NIC host protocols list Protocol VMware and its permits, but it just does not appear in the list in the virtual network Editor.

    Capture3.JPG

I tried to re-setup of workstation several times, reset the virtual network settings by default, reinstall the service VMware Bridge Protocol on the NIC host, re - install and test with disabled Kaspersky but refuses to the NETWORK map appears. Should I actually a 2nd NIC physical should be able to fill with the NIC host, or am I wrong?

    Thanks for the help!

A little paranoid I see, blocking NAT and host only IP addresses in the virtual network Editor screenshot!

In any case have actually completely uninstalled Kaspersky to test whether the virtual network editor will enumerate the host physical NETWORK card?

I have noted problems with various AV products that have put protocols in the network stack and they must usually be temporarily completely uninstalled and then install the VMware product and then reinstall the product AV.

  • iTunes - compilations, absent from the list of Albums

I have several compilations in iTunes (12.4.0.119) on my MacBook Pro.  These appeared in the list of albums of the library until now, but suddenly they no longer appear in the list of Albums.  They always appear under Gianni and recently added, but only with the single artist Albums appear in the list of Albums.

Also has anyone seen this problem? I think that this only started happening after the last automatic update of the software a few days ago.

In the version 12.4 iTunes compilations are hidden in the Album > grid side if the field sort by is set to something other than an artist.

  • absent from the list of photo book

OK, let's see if I can explain my problem.  I had all my photos stored on an external hard drive.  Having recently purchased Adobe PSE 9, I started to organize all my photos using PSE.  I got my pictures organized in the album categories and then broken down further into albums. For example, category: Halloween and then Halloween 2009, Halloween 2010, etc.  I download / saved my photos on photoshop.com. Now all my catalog names are still on the right side of the screen, but the albums in each category went.  In addition, the photos are always displayed in the media browser and they each have a green label that says that the photo is in a particular Album.  But I can no longer view my photos per album, I have to scroll all the 10,000 pictures to find the ones I want.

    How can I fix?

It seems that all the categories/albums are in a State of collapse. You would need develop albums/categories from the albums Panel.

I have been through ALL the steps as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358. I have had no success.
One thing that bothers me, is in the configuration of the system, I have a service called true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) and when the value disable as in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135, it is the only service still running when you perform a clean restart. I don't know if this affects the Automatic Updates/configuration or not.

    Hello

Thanks for trying to help. Now my computer seems to be up-to-date.
I followed your steps but MicrosoftFixit50202.msi did not like "my OS is incompatible. I use windows 8.  I couldn't run this in default or aggressive.
I did go in Control Panel and disable antivirus and firewall Zone Alarm and reset Windows defender by default.
I did IE default web browser I have prob changed when I got to the computer.
I then returned to set up a clean boot and this time I managed to disable the true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) to run.
I ran the reset troubleshooting of Windows with the same result as before is to say:
Recent updates - not fixed installation problems
Search for missing or corrupted - files detected
I think I have restarted my computer at this stage and then tried to update again.
It has not yet, but with the error, I got an error code and a link to help. I don't have not noticed this before. I followed the help and ran about 5 command prompts that have to do with the renaming of files I think.
Then I tried updating again and this time 38 45 updates succeeded. I then ran the update again and it seemed to work on the other 7 updates.
Although Windows Update said I was now updated, I was skeptical as when this whole thing started is started when I got the "windows installs updates" and then "failed to configure updates. Returning... etc"then I restarted my computer. At the start, there was no message on try to configure the updates, then, how do I know they are configured and working as it should?
    Thank you.

Do you have other accounts of users on this PC?  If you install this update from the main account?

You should get the number of the update of the updated history list and then download the file here: Microsoft downloads.
If sure that nothing else is running, and then install the update manually.  Give it a try and let us know the results.

  • Windows Update has had the BAD update for my computer!

Windows Xp Pro 32 bit, ie8. There was an update of the optional equipment, Trendnet ethernet adapter. I installed it. I lost my internet connection. I reinstalled my ethernet realtek card and my internet back. I realize, it's an optional update, but I try to update everything always. Now that I have disabled the adapter trendnet update is back on my list of update in windows update. I have scored for don't show this update and will have this irritating msg to restore hidden updates whenever I'll update. How this erroneous update occurred? Thanks for any help.

It happened because you gave. Never install of optional hardware updates from MS Update. Usually, they will burn out your computer. Download the updates directly from the computer manufacturer site.
