Windows Anytime Upgrade was not successful, try again to upgrade - WHY WHY WHY?

I bought Anytime Upgrade Home Premium Online and I am trying to upgrade.

Everything is fine - after checking the key, accepted the terms, clicked on the next button and start the system to be upgraded.
But after a looooooong time, it says "Windows Anytime Upgrade was not successful, please retry the upgrade."  WHY? WHY?  WHY?
I tried to re-setting level for many times.

Try to upgrade your Netbook to Windows 7 SP1, then try again the anytime upgrade:

  • Problems installing Windows 7 64-bit SP1: "The Installation was not successful" DS_S_SUCCESS (0x0)

I'm unable to install the Windows 7 SP1 on my laptop.  I am running Win 7 64 bit and tried to install the 64-bit SP1 via the feature updates automatic first, then with the SP1 download manually (Windows6. 1 - KB976932 - X 64 .exe).   The progresses to install SP1 to the point where it shuts down the system and it is charging but when I log in I get the dialog Setup SP1 reporting "the Installation was not successful".  By clicking on the link error display shows DS_S_SUCCESS (0x0).

(I followed the steps of troubleshooting 1) by using the Troubleshoot Utility "Difficulty of problems with Windows Update" and 2) installed tool Rediness of updating system, but the installation of SP1 still fails with the same error.

I have successfully applied the SP1 on a different system.  No idea why I have problems with my laptop.

    Any ideas?

    C thx.

Have you checked your hard drive to find errors? Another obscure, you might try is to disable User Account Control temporarily.

Its possible, you need to perform an update of the BIOS if one is available for your ThinkPad T60p. Also, check the updated chipset drivers.

Furthermore, disconnect any non-essential device, you may have attached to the system.

Its possible the SP1 download may be corrupted, I would like to download another copy and try again.

  • Windows Anytime Upgrade product key not / not valid

I have a brand new laptop Asus pre-loaded with Windows 7 Starter (the national retail chain bought) and also bought Windows Anytime Upgrade (always from a national chain). Both must therefore be produced authentic.

I spent two days trying to upgrade to Premium; ten minutes after the operation, I was told that it didn't (several attempts). On advice found on the MS Community tried to turn off my antivirus, downloaded the fix CheckSUR, disabled User Account Control, check the hard disk for errors and hidden/disabled MS Services on selective startup. I already have SP1.
All I get now is a message that the product key is not valid (it has not been previously, and I did not). I tried restore and then re - run the Windows updates above, etc., but still the product key is "invalid" and I can't go any further (without option to continue without a valid key).
I have never had the real issues of Windows before I couldn't fix, this completely defeated me - ideas? Thanks in advance...

You could try to reset it to factory State, and then try the Express upgrade.

    Hi Dreah117,

    Thanks for choosing Windows 8!

I understand that you get this error trying to upgrade to Windows 8. Its good that
you have removed your anti-virus software are there is a possiblity of it
    causing problems with installation

I have a few questions about your system

    1. what operating system (OS) you upgrade?
    2 what is a 32 or 64 bit OS?
    3. you try to install a 32-bit or 64-bit of Windows 8?

You can try these methods to see if it solves the problem

    Method 1:
Run the upgrade wizard and check to see if your system is compliant with the minimum requuirements.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/upgrade-to-Windows-8

    Method 2:
Disable or uninstall a software such as CD/DVD burning utility or third-party disk utility to defragment programs such as perfect disk / Daemon Tools

    (a) in the notification area, next to the time looking for icons of software disk utility

    (b) pass the mouse over it to check the name

    (c) right-click on the icon and select "Exit/Disable" or a similar option.

    Method 3:
Make sure your computer is updated through Windows Update.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Windows-Update

    Method 4:

Disconnect all unnecessary external devices such as printers / joysticks etc.

    Method 5:
Put the computer to boot is a way to solve problems

  • Windows anytime upgrade key does not work

After trying to upgrade my OS Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, I received the following message:

    "Enter a different upgrade key
The upgrade key that you entered is for an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade.  Enter a different key. »

Just to be sure, I tried upgrading several times, but got the same message.
Due to manufacturing defects, my laptop had to be repaired three times.  The motherboard has been replaced twice, the hard drive has been replaced three times and the processor once.  In fact, just a year last month, it still does not properly.  I bought the Windows Anytime Upgrade [upgrade to Windows 7 Professional to Home Premium] at the same time that I buy my laptop. Each time, except this time, I got to spend my OS.
The operating system on my laptop is now Windows 7 Home Premium [SP1]
Another thing, I bought this laptop until I moved to the United States to Asia.  If this may have something to do with the problem that I am facing?
In any case, I hope you can help.  It is difficult to really buy a lemon manufacturing refuses to stand behind and now having this issue, where I can't upgrade the OS that I bought.

  • Cannot use Windows Anytime upgrade Windows 7 family premium - product not available

I'm trying to upgrade a computer Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro. When I tried the Windows Anytime Upgrade (launched from the System Properties dialog box) I got an error that says that the product was unavailable (or something like that). I had put in which to purchase, contact and payment information, and then when I went to submit the order I got the message saying something to the effect that the product was not available.

Is this true, is there no way to use this tool to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro?
