  • Firefox window becomes invisible when I try to restore the window size (larger works very well)

When I run Firefox, the window is invisible. Maximize it works, but when I try to restore it to the previous size it becomes invisible.

I had this problem with other applications, and then it was the position of the stored window which was damaged.

I looked in the registry to see if the position of the window is stored there, but could not find it there.

You can use JavaScript to fix the problem and Firefox 7.0.1 did move or resize windows with JavaScript almost impossible. You can configure your bookmark and change in about: config then only magnified, but you will need to read the notes at the bottom of the article about Firefox 7.

Summary of the steps in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resizing_oversize_window

    1. use 'Alt + SPACEBAR' in Windows to maximize active window
    2. Change services.sync.prefs.sync.dom.disable_window_move_resize to use fake subject: config
    3. Create a bookmarklet (bookmark with JavaScript) having a
      location javascript:self.resizeTo (1024, screen.availHeight); self.moveTo(screen.availWidth-1024,0);
(1024, so reduce the width of your screen is less than 1024)
    4. Next topic: config should be the active tab
    5. Invoke the bookmark directly from your Favorites (with Firefox 7.0.1 you can no longer call JavaScript or a shortcut keyword with Javascript since the location bar involving move/resize).
  • block diagram window becomes higher in win7 64-bit using LV2011 32-bit sp1

I have a strange problem and I wonder if anyone has ever seen this behavior. Often, when I go to the block diagram window, it will become the top window that is it is located at the top of all other windows including LabVIEW non-windows! I have to close the VI and really open to fix the problem. I see this on 3 machines, all the dell of m6600 laptops so I think it's maybe a graphics driver issue. Any ideas?
    Thank you
    Michael.

    Tori,
I confirm that this problem can be solved by removing the Dell Premier color utility that installs with the driver dell put on hardware compatible color first. The question of the window occurs when LabVIEW works so there is some kind of conflict. Anyway, problem solved for me.

Windows XP has become slow or not responding more frequently because I downloaded from the Garmin site. I deleted the download of Garmin, but there was another program that downloaded (something net?) at the same time that Garmin cannot name so I could remove. Frequently, I get a message that windows is increasing memory etc which has not happened before. I think that there are additional programs running that I am not opening, think computer do it himself.  Please help me.

original title: XP slow or nothing answer

    Hello

Many things contribute to this slowdown to a computer, it could be hardware or software related.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:
Computers get slower for various reasons: files become disorganized, unnecessary software consumes resources, readers of network unused slow start or too many programs run automatically at startup. Larger, serious questions can dramatically too slow down your computer's performance. You may have a virus or have need troubleshoot clean start.

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.

    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP

  • XP Home Edition, SP3. Active window becomes inactive, no clicks, then becomes active after 5-10 seconds.

I use XP Home Edition, SP3.  When I'm working in an active window (say, MS Word), the window has become suddenly idle for 5 to 10 seconds and then becomes active again.  Everyone knows about this problem?  I thought it might be a problem of Outlook and run the detect and repair command, but that did not help.

I had the same problem except that it was on Windows 7.  Well, it would not matter what OS is in my case.

Symptoms: Everything seemed normal until I opened Outlook 2007 and had messages in my Inbox.  Once the messages have arrived in my Inbox outlook began to lose his accent all ~ 5 seconds. I would try to compose an email and he would lose his orientation (became inactive) for about 3-5 seconds then it would possibly come crazy me backwards.

Solution: Open the the Task Manager and sorted in addition to the processor.  Open outlook and left he opened in such a way that I would be able to display the Task Manager and Outlook-by-side.  Click outlook so that it had the focus.  With outlook open, I started noticing that whenever he would lose his focus a process called TMAS_OS.exe jump upward.  I searched my computer for the file "TMAS_OS.exe" and found its location in Trend new application called "Titanium".  Apparently, it is associated with a software component plug-in 'purchase of Outlook outlook extension support?' and it seemed to go nuts.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app and now everything is fine.  It drove me crazy and it was the first time that the trend has never made me heartache.

UPDATE: the issue made ugly reappeared the next day.  Apparently, initial installation, antispam behaves but on reboot antispam titanium going nuts once more.  It may be an incompatibility between the add-in (AntiSpam) TMA of trend microphones for Outlook 2007 running on a Windows7 64-bit operating system?

For now I have disabled the supplement product TMA Titanium Internet Security 2011 trendmicro until they found a solution.  I'll just have to idetify and deal with any spam myself.

To turn off the snap TMA:

    1. close Outlook, and then open the main console for Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security
    2. click on the 'Settings' button at the bottom
    3. click on 'Internet & Email orders' on the left
    4. click on 'Spam' on the left
5 uncheck "Filter unsolicited advertisements and other unwanted e-mail messages" > apply > OK
    6. exit the main Console

You can check THAT TMA is disabled:
    1. open Outlook
2 tools > Trust Center > click on Add-ins > on the bottom, make sure that the ' Manage: ' drop-down list is set to "COM Add-ins" and click on the "..." button. "> Search FRO"TMA"must be unchecked

  • Active screen/window becomes inactive on its own.

I've had this problem for quite a while now; whenever I am active in a window to say to, for example Internet Explorer or type in MS Word, it automatically becomes inactivated. Happens at various intervals, and it is just annoying, because I can be typing something, then all of a sudden it inactive and I have to click the window again to make it active.

I tried Googling the problem and much of the time the answers are "there is something running in the background" or something of the sort. I also triedc the problem, what has worked, but only temporarily. So after I have restart or turn it on again the problem starts again. I also scanned the computer of viruses, bugs and anything that could be linked to such a problem, and I got rid of everything that seemed suspect... but the problem still remains.

As a side note, the problem is on a Toshiba Qosmio Windows 7 laptop

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sorry I forgot to answer this question here. I've solved, and YES, it was that accursed wireless TP link software!

When you start and opens the configuration window, go to options and put him in the soft AP mode.

Now when I boot, it only shows me a little window saying correctly "configure SoftAP mode." I have no problem whatsoever now.

  • Actual windows becomes unusable if Windows virtual hangs up on restart

I'm curious to know if there is a way out of this situation:

I run VMWorkstation 8 on Windows 7 machine. One of the virtual machines is Windows Vista. So what happens is that sometimes when I try to reboot the virtual Vista he indefinitely hung up on the "Shut down windows" message

At the same time the mouse disappears (as it would if Vista has been installed in a real machine) and I can't seem to get out of the virtual machine in the real.

What I end up doing, is hitting Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard and start the Task Manager. Then the strange thing is that, even if this leads to the top of the mouse on the screen, it is limited to a small window (where Vista virtual is) and I can't move it out of this window. So if I'm lucky and the task manager gets into the same window, so I start to kill wmware*.exe process until VMWorkstation closes and I can get my computer back and operational.

Is there a better way to do it?

    Hi ahmd9,

This sounds like the VM "caught" the keyboard and mouse - what normal that when the graphic environment of the virtual machine is not running more.  When this happens, just press the CTRL and Alt keys simultaneously and release the two... it is the combination of keys "ungrab", which tells of VMware Workstation to restore the host system with keyboard and mouse.  The status bar at the bottom of the window of VMware Workstation should remember the key ungrab combination, saying something like: "to return to your computer, press Ctrl-Alt.

If you press the combination of keys ungrab, does everything, then back to normal?

    See you soon,.

    Reset Firefox has absolutely nothing.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • I just upgraded to 10... and now the links and buttons when my cursor passes over them, and my window blackout curtains all becomes black, whenever I scroll.

I just upgraded to Firefox 10 and had to go back to 3.6 as 10 doesn't seem to work on my computer. I have a pc running windows 7. After the upgrade, whenever I moved my cursor on a button or link, linking out white or a black bock appears above him. In addition, whenever I try to scroll, the whole window becomes black until I have stop scrolling.

    Hi Nester88,

I'll try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit.

    Hope this helps!

  • Why isn't the taskbar Windows 10 stay on top when browsing with Firefox?

For one reason or another, the Windows 10 taskbar is not displayed on the top of the Firefox browser windows/pages. He remains at the top in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. Why won't it stay on top in Firefox? I need to be able to see the time and date while browsing. Is there a solution to this? Please inform me of how to remedy the situation as soon as POSSIBLE, or I have to use Google Chrome (but I won't!).

If Firefox is in display full screen, that allows to block the taskbar. You can switch from full screen to normal display using either:

    • F11
    • Drag the pointer of the mouse to the top of the screen, right-click on an empty area of the bar tab, then exit fullscreen

If this is not it, sometimes the file that stores the dimensions of the window becomes corrupt with nonsense values. Since the file is difficult to edit, you can rename and have Firefox back to windows default sizes.

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

This process may disable some of the bars that you want to display. To enable their return, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

  • TripAdvisor opens a window, even if the option to open tabs is defined

I have the option to open links in a new tab rather than a new window. This seems to work perfectly except in a situation. TripAdvisor is often open a new window on 'appropriate other hotels', always hidden behind other windows, the only indication is the icon on the taskbar. This window opens on its own, not directly because of my actions, at least not because I clicked on a link. If I do not spot the taskbar icon and close the main window of Firefox first then the Tripadvisor window becomes the default and load at next startup. Fortunately I find all my other tabs on recently closed windows, but it's a hassle.

How does Tripadvisor for this, in contradiction with the options, and when everything seems to follow the third party? Is it because it "opens"? It can be stopped?

By default, Firefox diverts most of the links that open in new windows and the automatic pop-up windows in a new tab. However, if the pop-up specifies size or changes the toolbars are displayed, Firefox is different on the site as well as where it's a dialog box associated with the page, it appears as expected.

You can force Firefox to treat all the same pop-up windows, they have these feature or not. This requires a visit in the topic: configuration preferences editor. My apologies for what will seem like too much details, but there are 3 related settings if I want a list of the people together.

In a new tab, type or paste Subject: config and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

In the filter box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered.

Double-click to change the values as you wish (in particular the other one):

    (A) browser.link.open_newwindow

3 = divert new window to a new tab (default) (checked *)

2 = allow the link to open a new window (uncontrolled *)

1 = new power window in the same tab

    * First check box in the Options > tabs

    (B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction -for links in Firefox tabs

0 = apply the setting under (A) to all new windows (same script)

2 = apply the setting under (A) for normal windows, but NOT for windows script with characteristics (default)

1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows

    (C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external -for links in other programs

-1 = apply the setting under (A) external links (default)

3 = open external links in a new tab in the last active window

2 = open external links in a new window

1 = open external links in the last active tab replaces the current page

    You can tame the popups?

  • Always have 2 tabs FF15.0.1 and start tabs w/previous/win. No matter when I start FF the second window always loses the 1 tab and put the '+' to the extreme left.

When I close FF the active window becomes #1 window when I restart. No matter that one becomes a window #2 the first pinned tab is missing and the '+' is on the far left. Same thing happens if the tabs are not pinned. If I close FF and cause a switch between W #1 and 2 W, W #2 loses this 1 tab and w #1 missing tab reappears.

Hello ppsffvt, it looks like an extension might be interfering here. Please, try to start firefox in safe mode once and see if the problem occurs here also.

  • Why is the first tab in a window now hidden! ???

Using Firefox 7.0.1 w / Mac OS 10.6.8 for awhile now, but suddenly I noticed that the first tab in a window becomes hidden. Then on the tab bar, I have only the + add-a-tab tab, then the 2nd added tab and beyond. I can only decipher which is the first tab by clicking on the arrow down very far to the right of the tab bar and there it is. But if I click on it, all I get is the window but still NO tab.

This becomes critical when I am trying to organize the transfer of tabs in a different window to free up space in the first window. Now, it is simply impossible because there is no tab to enter and drag in a another window is not!

If all goes well, there is a simple solution, but I wasn't able to find an answer yet by googleing. Thank you.

    I think it's a bug.

    I saw it myself too.

I see it all the time if I detach a tab to open in a new window.

There is only the sign more to open a new tab n open a new tab this tab to the right of this new tab opens more sign.

Close tab (Cmd + W) and the restoration of the tab (Shift + Cmd + T) solves this problem for me.

  • How to merge multiple windows in 1 window with several tabs?

In Safari, it is possible to merge several windows open in 1 single window, with each window becomes a new tab in this new window, so you can easily switch from tab to tab. I can't find how to do this in Firefox - did someone knows if it is possible? Thank you.

    Try Tab Mix more.
