Windows can mute background users?

I have a family computer in our den is used by 4 people.  I prefer to use user accounts for both the security and the convenience of having our own customization settings.  We love taking advantage of fast user switching, allowing others to use the computer without disconnection (for our tasks can continue if necessary).

However, I am curious if it is possible for a user to mute?  For example, when I use the computer, I don't need to hear my brother e-mail program the attention of a new message.  And since it is not the active user, is not there to hear it anyway.  It also has user experience unhappy to play a beep for me when I have no new messages, which grows boring, a bit like crying wolf.

With up to 4 users simultaneously, each with different applications of background and services, it can be very embarrassing for the current user to hear these alerts.

Hi Shawn,

This behavior of receives it the sound of the inactive user account is by design. Alerts and sounds is the scale of the system and not specific user. You won't be able to sound off on the other user account by default when you switch user.

You can also post your suggestion or information on the case you want to see it implemented in the future.

I'm assuming you're network connection to your XP Pro using the "Remote Desktop connection" machines...  If so, this can be done natively on a XP Home machine as XP Home does not support the remote desktop connection.  XP Home Edition also ensures a file sharing Simple for any user that connects to your computer would be able to authenticate the user "guest".

There may be other 3rd third-party programs that can allow you to do.

To work around this problem, stop and start the Task Scheduler service, wait 10 to 15 minutes and then to schedule tasks. »

Click on start, type bar, the serviceand select the services since the research gives search icon.

There is no free upgrade to Windows 7 for Vista users unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer of your system.

  • Change Windows 7 logon background image

I already know the tweak registry and sizes of jpg Windows\System32\oobe\\info\backgrounds and others, and I need to know where to download a free utility that does this for me.  I can do (and have) myself, but that's not what I want to do now.

I want to know is where Windows 7 saves the background image used as the default logon screen and the name of the image file.  It's not the Windows\System32\oobe\background.bmp.  I changed that one, but that does not change the default logon background image.  If it's an image file that has a name, I can change if I can find it.

Anyone know where the file is stored in Windows 7?

That's all I ask; the location of the file that is actually used as the default Windows logon background.
