Windows Defender error: 126

I have read several different forums that are similar to my question but Iam reciving a different error. When I double click on services and applications WinDefend, he reads that Windows cannot start the WinDefend service on Local computer. Error: 126 the specified module could not be found. On the left, under the description of services it is said so basically Ive tried several things and it did not work because I can not enter the application at all. Can someone help me please? Thank you in advance, fignewt85

Go to start - accessories - command prompt and do a right-click on command prompt and click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow 9Rating space - it is important) and let it run. It corrects errors system and file and can replair what is causing this error and the Defender is not working. If all goes well it will be complete and don't find no error, it could not fix.  Then, try to start it again and see if it works.

Let us know if this solves your problem.

How to fix Windows Defender on Windows 7?

For some time now, Windows Defender no longer works. I can't install new updates of definition and the service cannot be started. If I try to manually start the Windows Defender service, there is an error message:

"Error 126: the specified module could not be found.

However, I can launch the GUI of C:\Program Files\Windows Defender Defender. However, I tried to download the Windows Defender from Microsoft, but the installer launches because it is said that Defender is already part of Windows 7 x 64.

I'm really looking for a way to get Windows Defender to rework.

First of all, it's what I already know and what I don't want:

    • I don't want to disable Windows defender, I want to make it work again
    • I have no antivirus uninstalled or disabled Windows Defender software, the module really seems to be corrupted (I am software engineer)
    • I don't want to reinstall Windows or use the backup, because I don't know how far I have to go back
    • Windows Defender can be removed from the menu of functions and software, because it is part of the operating system
    • I do not have MSE installed, tried to install it, haven't changed a thing

Any solution to solve this is appreciated. Advanced solutions (Registry hacks, enveloping, manual installs, work...) Welcome!

    Kind regards

    Florian

I was able to fix this on my own. It seems that the registry has been damaged (as I thought).

Changed the DisplayName property is property in the register of "Windows Defender" to "@%ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender\\MsMpRes.dll,-103" which in reality should not be the cause of the problem, however, the DisplayName property original of the resource file.

ServiceDll property have been replaced in the registry of

  • Unable to turn on Windows Defender error: 0x800106ba.

    Original title: windows defender error.

I get an error of windows defender, 0x800106ba, whatever that means?  I am not able to turn on the Defender because of this error...

What other security programs you have running? Many as MSE, Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc., will stop Windows Defender because they have the same functionality, and having two programs running at the same time and make security the same work can lead to conflicts. This is by design and must be accepted by the user.

Windows Defender error 0x800705b4... Need help... I can't as a defender of fix. Thank you.

Is there a message outside an error code?
Is it possible that the message said you that Windows Defender does not work?
If so, maybe the following could explain why:

If you have the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, close your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
Bottom line: it's ok. It's normal.
List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:

    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsoft Security Essentials

If the above does not apply to you, here's a way to restart Windows Defender:

Start button > in the search box, type Services > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows Defender > click Properties > in the new window, make the necessary changes, as above > click OK when finished.
